Palmer Township Athletic Association General Membership Meeting Minutes Members Present: September 21, 2017 Charles Chrin Community Center Matt Rusnock, Jennifer Swinsburg, Lisa Bowman, Doug McTighe, Craig Conner, Jeff Vincent, Paul Cinoa, Eddie Lozano, Dave Dumpel, Chuck Romfo, Terran Baker, Tom Gutekunst. Associate Members: Allison Phillips, Bob Stocker, Melissa Woodruff. Call to Order: 8:03pm Championship jackets were awarded to the U11 Boys, and Girls 3/4 Lehigh Valley youth Lacrosse Champions. Motion by Dave Dumpel to accept the March meeting minutes. Second by Eddie Lozano. Passed. Motion by Eddie Lozano to accept the March treasurers report. Second Tom Gutekunst. Passed. Sports Reports: Wrestling- Dave DiSora Signups are going on. Holiday Tournament is all set up and teams have committed. Having a team picnic this fall. League is going to 2 piece uniforms. Motion by Dave DiSora for $500.00 to Easton Elite Wrestling. Second Eddie Lozano. Passed Field Hockey- Dave Dumpel for Maureen Rinda Season going well. Motion by Dave Dumpel NTE $900.00 to Vitko Lawn service for grass cutting at old orchard. Second Craig Conner. Passed Basketball- Tom Gutekunst. Gym time is a huge issue with the loss of Tracy Elementary gym. Looking into cutting an age group or bring teams down to one practice a week. Looking into using In the Zone or the YMCA gyms. Spoke to the township supervisors about more gym time. Will try to use portable hoops at Palmer Elementary for younger kids. Looking into starting a travel team. The league has not met to date.

Soccer- Dave Dumpel Fall season is underway. Amanda Schultz preseason tournament netted $5670.00 profit. This year, as in years past, the EAHS Boys and Girls soccer were a huge help. Contacting Dan McKinney about new equipment bags, cones, and pinnies. Motion by Dave Dumpel for $600.00 to the Amanda Schultz Memorial Fund. Second Eddie Lozano. Passed. Motion by Dave Dumpel for $600.00 for the EAHS boys and girls soccer boosters ($300.00 apiece). Second Paul Cinoa. Passed. Cheerleading- Jen Swinsburg Season going well. Will have 2 teams, JV and Varsity. Cheering will cheer for soccer. SVS fundraiser is over. Looking to participate in another competition. Looking into clinics with Lafayette College. Football- Craig Conner Handed in checks from the green and white sale. Needs the township to adjust the lights in the NW corner of the field. Field light is out over the press box. Fuse blew out in the speaker system. The speaker system needs an upgrade. Softball- Paul Cinoa Coach Brian Rinda will be at the next scheduled board meeting to seek approval to become the next Softball Commissioner. Motion by Paul Cinoa for $100.00 to the former softball league commissioner Gary Metzger Memorial. Second Terran Baker. Passed Lacrosse- Eddie Lozano. Summer season went well. Field is in good condition. League is changing age groups to stop younger kids from playing too aggressively. Changing from focusing on winning to focusing on skill. Looking into starting a travel team. Coach s Convention is in January of next year. Baseball Upper Level- Matt Rusnock. Fall baseball has one team that s doing well. Motion by Matt Rusnock for $850.00 to Angel Rodriguez for umpire fees. Second Paul Cinoa. Passed. Motion by Matt Rusnock for $150.00 to reimburse himself for umpire fees. Second Craig Conner. Passed.

Motion by Matt Rusnock for $327.00 to Lehigh Valley Connie Mac for fall baseball dues. Second Tom Gutekunst. Passed. Baseball Lower Level- Lisa Bowman for Jeff Bowman Spring season - 6 of 7 Palmer teams made playoffs at minors/majors levels. Palmer Rays took 2nd at Majors level and Palmer Angels completed perfect season to win the Minors championship. First team in GEABL history to win 20 games in a season. They will receive their jackets at the October meeting. 5 teams in fall ball. A few weeks left in the fall season and things are going well. Appreciate football working with us on field usage. Last games scheduled weekend of Oct 7. New bat standards will be used starting spring 2018, recommended by USA Baseball and being implemented by national organizations like Little League, PONY and Cal Ripken. GEABL commissioners unanimously backed this recommendation. All spring and fall registrants have been contacted with details about the change. Facebook page posting went out and webpage will be updated with info. Change only for T- Ball thru Majors levels. Commissioners will start meeting monthly for 2018 season in December. New Business The following statement was read as per the bylaws to make a change to the bylaws: Amendment to the bylaws Article XVI Quorum: to change the number of a quorum from 10 members to 5 members at a general membership meeting. Board Report Chuck Romfo The Board met over the summer months July and August. The board agreed to pursue application for 501c3 status, and acquiring Errors and Omissions and bonding insurance policies. Palmer Days- Waiting for Joe Olah for the beer tent report. Knocker ball made $1300.00. Some balls need to be repaired. Turf field was completed last month but cannot be used because access to the field hasn t been completed.

Concession stand architectural drawing were completed by Ron Furher and have been submitted to the township for foundation purposes. Mark Repsher is presently in the bidding process. Fall and spring off season registration reimbursement netted $48,760.00. PTAA Facebook page is being run by Lisa Bowman. She is posting registration and meeting info along with pictures. 222 Did not meet Rec board Did not meet. Motions- Amending the June motion for the generator at coach fest from NTE $200.00 to $225.15 which was the actual cost of the generator. Amending the June motion for Easton Beverage from $500.00 to $622.18 which was the actual cost of the beverages. Amending the May motion to Schuylkill Valley Sports (SVS) for cheerleading bows from NTE $460.00 to $466.20 the actual cost of the bows.
