Time Hand students short quiz and a card when they walk in. Cognitive (1); Affective (1); Psychomotor/ Fitness (1) Assessment for each objective must be included 1 Min Introduction: Review start and stop signals. WISG & Freeze. Where is equipment supposed to go when Freeze. (Quiet ball position, on the group between their feet) Task Presentation #1: Introductory game form: We are going to start today by playing 3 on 3. On offense your goal is to pass the ball to your teammates and get the ball into the basket. You get points if you make 3 or more passes. If you shoot at the basketball hoop you get 1 point. On defense you need to stay on the person you are guarding. Try not to allow the offense to get to the basket Demo. Check for understanding of rules and game. Transition: Have students get in groups based on card they have. Teacher collects cards. Teacher sends groups to each basket. Go = Start activity Freeze = QBP Rule #1- Defense stay on same person they are guarding Rule #- points if offense makes 3 passes Rule #3- A shot at the basket = 1 point

5 E1- Students play game. Teacher moves around and reminds students of rules. Give feedback to the groups and individuals. Rules 1-3 A-Students will only give their team a point when the points are earned. Transition: Freeze! Wait for ball to be put in quiet ball position at feet. Once the students are looking at the teacher, have them keep the ball on their court and come over to the 3-point line. Check for understanding, GO! Assessment-teacher observation TP #: Was the game fun? Is there anything you think your team could do better to keep possession of the ball? Let s practice triple threat position now! Teacher demo of what triple threat position is. Demo passing, dribbling, and shooting out of triple threat. WISG go back to the court you were on and form a circle with your group. When you have the ball you need to get into triple threat position. Once you are in triple threat position you may pass the ball to another player, and wait for the next pass to come to you (you will again put the ball in triple threat position). Check for understanding of the triple threat position. What three things can you do when in triple threat position (dribble, shoot, pass). Have one group demonstrate what the activity will look like. We will go around the circle twice. Check for understanding again. Go! Transition: Students go to their court and begin to practice the triple threat. E- Students practice triple threat and passing out of triple threat. Teacher walks perimeter and gives feedback using cues. Transition: Freeze! Wait for ball to be put in quiet ball position. Students stay at stations (baskets). P-SWBAT get into triple threat position every time the ball is passed to them during the activity. 1 Min TP #3: Now that you have worked on passing from the triple threat position I want you to now practice dribbling from the triple threat position. Teacher demo. The set up is the same as the last activity. The student with the ball will be in triple threat position, dribble to the middle of the circle and then pass it to another player. The second person with the ball will get into triple threat position, dribble to the center of the circle, and pass to another player, etc. Have a group Assessment- ask students

4 5 demonstrate, check for understanding of the triple threat position going into a dribble. We will go through the circle twice. Go! E3- Students practice triple threat and dribbling out of triple threat. Teacher walks perimeter and gives feedback using cues. Transition: Freeze! Wait for ball to be put in quiet ball position. Students stay at stations (baskets). TP #4: Now we want to practice shooting from the triple threat position. Teacher demo. Form one line anywhere you chose and then for the second time through pick a new sport. The student with the ball will be in triple threat position, dribble to an open spot, and then shoot, get your rebound and pass it to the next player. The second person in line will receive the ball and continue just as the first person did. Have a group demonstrate, check for understanding of the triple threat position going into a shot. Go through twice. Go! E4- Students practice triple threat into a shot. Teacher walks perimeter and gives feedback using cues. Transition: Freeze! Wait for ball to be put in quiet ball position at feet. Once the students are looking at the teacher, have them keep the ball on their court and come over to the 3-point line. Check for understanding, GO! TP #5: Now that we have practiced triple threat position and all that you can do out of it we are going to go back to the game play in the beginning. Before you pass, shoot, or dribble you must get into triple threat position. If each player touches the ball and gets in triple threat position before shooting the ball, the team gets 1 point, if shot is made that is another point given. You get another point by making 3 or more passes.. On defense you need to stay on the person you are guarding. Try not to allow the offense to get to the basket. Demo. Check for understanding of rules and game. E5- Students play game. Teacher moves around and reminds students of rules. Give feedback to the groups and individuals. Rules 1-3,, Rules 1-3

Transition: Freeze! WISG Have students with the ball put them on the ground and come back to the 3 point line. Go! Closure: What did we work on today? What are the 3 things you can do from a triple threat position? Is this a good way to maintain control of the ball? Is it easier to keep the ball away from the defense? Hand students short quiz. Good job today. C- SWBAT name the 3 things you can do when in triple threat position. Assessement-quiz Purdue Lesson Plan Form Page two
