INCLUSIVENESS AND CARING Hey Fairview! Remember last month's theme???????? Well, you guessed it: Inclusiveness!!!!!! At the assembly, lots of people received awards; maybe you did too. This month's theme is CARING. We hope you guys know how to care for others. Here are some examples : -Helping others when they need it most -Help others when they are hurt in any way -Don't bring any nuts to school -Tell your friends to wear all their warm clothing given to them -Share with students -Don't make fun of people Mr. Webb shows he cares by cleaning up to keep us safe. So, if you want to be caring, you can follow these examples. If you are caring, you can get an award and a BEE ticket. Most importantly, you make someone happy! By: Faiza and Meeral. New Years- Goals and Resolutions By: Aaisha A.. 'n Xenab R.. (Madrigal Agents shhh!) Woah! The year s over already??? It was just yesterday when we walked into 2011- now it s already 2012??? *Gasp! *, I'm so sad!!!--wait, no, I'm not!!! It's a New Year---YEAH!!!! A new year, a new time, new chances, new opportunities! And most importantly, new goals and resolutions! What??-- You don't what a resolution is?? No worries-- a resolution is a synonym for the word goal! Wow! So, what are your goals and resolutions? Are you asking me? Well, I personally don't and can't keep resolutions, so I never make one! Need some ideas? Sorry, but we can't help you. Here's a tip though: try to make a goal or resolution on something you need to improve on. For instance, if your not handing in your homework, maybe that would be something you should work on. Another example is one for home: being more responsible by helping your parents or taking care of your younger siblings. There's a lot of things you could work on things everybody could work on. Don't forget-- nobody's perfect-- but if we all set more goals, we can make the world a better place. Report cards by: Aliyah The report cards are coming so do your best. Work hard to try and get an A+ or A-. I think that Fairview P.S. is doing great, so keep it up! The report cards are coming on Friday, February 10, 2011. Remember to complete your goal-setting on the bottom of page 3 and have your parents fill in their part too!

GRADE 5 field trip To Jack Smythe On Friday December 16 th 2011 the grade 5's had an awesome field trip to Jack Smythe Field Centre. The field trip was about cooperation with others and playing games about how to cooperate with others. First, we had to go on a long and tiring hike. Then when we got close to the end of our hike, our teacher gave everyone a seed and we had to keep our hands still so that a chickadee would take the seed from our hand. Then, when we got on the top, we played other cooperative games. BY: Ayesha,Nenna and Chowmiya
The Dogfield Comic Strip Sounds familiar, right? Yes, this does sound like Garfield doesn't it, now? Well, this comic strip cartooned by Moazzam and The Dogfield Team was inspired by Garfield. This comic is just like Garfield, just with a fat dog instead of a fat feline. Of course, we can't forget Jon and Odie's twins: Rob and Codie. Codie is a cat. Rob is the same as Jon. We hope you like the comic! WHAT S THE BUZZ? Have you ever wondered what all the students here at Fairview Public School talk about? Well then, this is the place to know. At this time of year, all the students just love beating the cold in ways like playing basketball, soccer, pump, and some can even do mind -blowing yoyo tricks. As you all know, we all really enjoy showing off all our dodging skills at dodgeball once every week. Fairview has many different ideas, whether its dodgeball or yoyo's. Fairview is a great place for fun! Written by: Mohammed A. Jungle Sport By: Maithili, Falak and Trinity, Hey monkeys! Jungle Sport s here now! Who is up for some rock climbing, being Tarzan monkey man, hanging on ropes, climbing nets and best of all, the ZIPLINE!!!! And guess what? The teachers played too! COOL SCIENTIST AT FAIRVIEW FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS If you remember her name was Chris. She had set up centres where students explored various energy sources: One of them included solar power where solar panels made electricity to spin a wheel. Paint was squirted on the spinner and made a design. (This was a student favourite.) We explored light bulbs that conserve energy and do not produce heat vs. the old kind that can burn your hand. At another centre, students explored how to conserve energy. It was a great learning experience. By: Souvik Tips to Stay Warm By: Dana It s winter time! Everybody is cold.
