By winning the sectional championship on Saturday afternoon, they have earned a trip to compete in Madison. The state semifinal match is at 1:35pm on Thursday, March 15th, at the Kohl Center. We have earned the #1 seed and will play Kettle Moraine Lutheran (#4). A win on Thursday will put our team into the State Championship game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (If they should lose Thursday, they would NOT play on Saturday). We are hoping for an amazing turnout of Viking fans to come support the team, as they continue their exciting post-season run! Parking/Access Doors will open approximately 1 hour prior to the start of each session. Patrons will be required to pass through metal detectors (see attached information for forbidden items). See future pages for detailed parking/access information. See attached information for helpful parking maps and seating diagrams. Ticket Sale Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase from the high school or middle school office through Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. or until sold out. Please note we have a special reserved block of tickets, which should be purchased first. Tickets purchased online via the WIAA are $12 and will not be the preferred seats, located in the Valders block. Tickets are not needed for children two years old and under, but the child must remain on a lap during the game. Tickets may be purchased online and in person at the Kohl Center, if necessary. If our boys win on Thursday, those who are in attendance should purchase tickets for Saturday s match right after Thursday s winning match. We will have a designated ticket area. Listen for an announcement after Thursday s game concludes. No tickets will be available for sale in Valders for the Saturday game Pep Rally Send-Off Valders High School will be sponsoring a State Send-off Pep Rally on Wednesday from 1:05 1:30 pm. All are invited to attend in the gymnasium! The team will be departing immediately after the send off, accompanied with a firetruck escort through the village. Important Details to note: Penalty for Bringing Prohibited Items Spectators bringing prohibited item(s) will have them confiscated. Spectator Conduct The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association objects to the use of activities, materials, logos, apparel, mascots or gestures that are profane, vulgar, insulting or offensive to others. The membership disapproves of any form of taunting or expression that is intended or designed to embarrass, ridicule, disrespect, or demean others under any circumstance including on the basis of race, religion, gender or national origin. A violation of this policy will result in the individual(s) being removed from the Kohl Center.
PARKING/ACCESS ASSISTANCE Parking Spectator Bus Each school, during the session their team is playing, will be allowed to park their spectator buses on Frances Street. Upon your arrival at the Kohl Center, park temporarily in the cut-out area in front of the Kohl Center (Dayton Street), in the designated zone. A security officer will board your bus and assist you in proceeding to the parking area. There will be security officers positioned at each corner to assist you. Buses will reload their spectators on Frances Street at the conclusion of their game. There is no parking allowed on Dayton Street. Bus drivers must have a ticket to gain admission to the Kohl Center. Parking General Public (see maps on following pages) Spectators are encouraged to walk, use hotel shuttles, or park at the Alliant Energy Center. Parking spaces close to the Kohl Center are limited. Not all University lots in the vicinity of the Kohl Center are available for our use. Many are available only at certain times. The signs posted at the entrance of University lots will list restrictions, etc. Possible University Parking lots available include the following: a. The City of Madison State Street Campus Ramp is $15 per day b. Lot 91- Available after 5 p.m. $8, must pay to re-enter. c. Lot 46 - Available for the entire tournament based on availability. $8, must pay to re-enter. d. Lot 29 - Available after 5 p.m. $8, must pay to re-enter. e. Lot 83 - Available based on availability. $8, must pay to re-enter. f. If all lots are full, give consideration to using the Alliant Energy Center Shuttle or the only option will be street parking. You will probably be located several blocks from the Kohl Center. Many streets in Madison have restrictions allowing only a maximum of two hours of parking. Parking for the Disabled (see maps on following pages) There are disabled parking spaces available on a first come basis in Lot 48. Cost is $8 must pay to reenter. A disabled drop off area is available in front of the Kohl Center on Dayton Street. When dropping off in front of the Kohl Center, if needed, you can call UW Guest Services (608-263-5645) five minutes before arriving. Guest Services will meet the disabled patron with a wheelchair and they will take them into the building and to their seating area. The disabled patron may not keep the wheelchair. If the patron wishes to be picked up with a wheelchair after the session, tell Guest Services at the time of drop off and they will come back at the conclusion of the game/session. Access for Individuals with Disabilities There are wheelchair and wheelchair companion seating locations scattered throughout the Kohl Concourse (street level) and the Kellner Concourse (upper level). All wheelchairs must be positioned in the wheelchair and wheelchair companion seating areas. A student fan in a wheelchair will not be allowed to sit in their student sections or on the floor of the Kohl Center. Individuals needing these special seating locations must go to the Kohl Center Ticket Office (Gate B) to purchase a ticket and then proceed to the Kohl Center Welcome Desk (just inside Gate B) to do a ticket exchange for handicap seating. Seating in the special wheelchair areas will only be allowed with a corresponding assigned ticket. There are public restrooms, concession stands, and drinking fountains on both the Kohl and Kellner Concourses that are accessible for individuals with disabilities.
