(A MCGUIRE CENTER) The summer camp season continues Monday morning at Marquette University with the Session III Day Camp, which features over 200 participants. Hundreds of campers will invade the Al McGuire Center Monday morning, with the five day event concluding Friday afternoon with the awards ceremony. The top camp coaches are in Milwaukee from across the country, allowing Marquette to provide high level individual instruction to the campers. It s an exciting time of the year for us and we are really happy to have everyone on campus, Marquette head coach Buzz illiams said. e are looking forward to a week full of instruction, competition and most importantly, fun. This week s group of campers will be divided into four groups when it comes to team competition. Champions will be crowned in the following levels;, NCAA, and. The Daily Buzz staff will be keeping a watchful eye on the week s activities, owning a vote in the camper of the day and most valuable camper balloting. The Daily Buzz will also be your source to recap the game results each day as well as the individual contest award winners. Daily winners advance in free throw, hot shot, 1 on 1 and 3 on 3 competitions, with Championship Friday deciding the week s best. A daily free throw champion will be crowned in the division, with the other three league s combining to determine the day s other winner. (A MCGUIRE CENTER) Under new leadership for the first time in five years, MU s Session III Day Camp got off to a quick start Monday morning. Camp Director Jamie McNeilly, whose tenure began earlier this summer after his predecessor s visa (it turns out Oklahoma might actually not be in the Union) was revoked after repeated failed emissions tests by his beloved Jeep Grand Cherokee, introduced subtle changes in the Al McGuire Center. All of the campers participated in a combine Monday, taking part is agility, vertical jump and other assorted tests. Each participant was also asked to throw a curveball both lefty and righty as a way for parents to evaluate options for their son when it comes to landing a professional contract. Monday s campers of the day were TRAVIS JUNIOR-EST (Spain), QUINN PACKEE (Pittsburgh) and PRESTON MACCOUX (Blazers). Canada and the Hornets both claimed regular season titles with perfect records and Syracuse finished on top of the programs with an 8 1 record. Each team earns the No. 1 seed in their respective tournaments Friday, but history has shown the opportunity for upsets on the final day and the favorites must be focused.
