Hi everyone- time for the substance abuse awareness fact of the day! Today. Marijuana. Yes that's the real name for weed. Here are several UNTRUTHS that you NEED TO KNOW. 1- yes it does stay in your body- its absorbed by tissue in various organs throughout the body and stays in your system for several days. 2. yes it does affect your brain. it alters your memory. your judgment. your motor skills. your reaction time. your muscle memory (like you use for sports).
3. yes it is addictive. users feel the urge to smoke it again and again to re-create the high. that's called being an addict. 4. and finally yes- it does lead to other drugs, the need to recreate the high marijuana gives you, can lead to finding others way to get high. and remember if you have any questions all of us in the health room are here for you, come talk to us!
