BVYSA 3 rd Annual Recreatinal Cup Turnament Veteran s Park (VPAC) Cllege Statin, Texas Saturday - May 12, 2018 Hsted by the Brazs Valley Yuth Sccer Assciatin http://brazsvalleysccer.cm/ WELCOME TO THE 3 rd ANNUAL BVYSA RECREATIONAL CUP TOURNAMENT We are lking frward t a great event. This is an invitatinal inter-assciatin recreatinal turnament between teams representing Bryan Sccer Club, Cllege Statin Sccer Club, Greater Burlesn Cunty Sccer Club and Madisn Sccer Club. Each club will advance teams frm their age divisins frm their allcatin prcess thrugh end f seasn turnament r end f seasn standings. Fields and Amenities All games will be played at Veterans Park Athletic Cmplex (VPAC) n the Synthetic Turf Fields. Check In Each team must check in at Turnament Headquarters lcated in frnt f the Synthetic Turf Fields at least thirty (30) minutes prir t their first scheduled game. Turnament Rules 1. PLAY FORMAT: Each team is guaranteed a minimum f three games. All teams will play pl play games within their assigned bracket n Saturday. The tp 2 teams in pint value in each bracket will be awarded 1 st and 2 nd place medals. 2. Turnament games will be played in accrdance with the Age Designated Rules attached heret. All games will be (2) 20-minute halves with a 5-minute half time. 3. Warm-up and Games. Teams must arrive 15 minutes prir t a game. Have yur team warm-up n the sidelines and put yur line-up n the field as sn as the game befre yurs clears the field. The referees can call fr captains and the game can begin. The Hme team will be given the ptin t kickff r defer. The Hme team is the team listed first n the schedule. Players are t be checked in prir t each game n the game cards by the referee. 4. If, in the pinin f the referee, there is a clr cnflict, the hme team shall change t a jersey f an alternative clr r wear pennies that will be available at turnament headquarters. 5. PROPERLY REGISTERED PLAYERS: Each player n the team must be prperly registered STYSA/BVYSA players and must meet the age requirements f the cmpetitin in which the team is invlved. Any cach r assistant cach wh is respnsible fr knwingly playing an ineligible player will be subject t suspensin frm any STYSA/BVYSA sanctined prgram and will be submitted t the BVYSA D&P Cmmittee fr ptentially further sanctins. Further disciplinary actin may include, but is nt limited t reprimand, frfeiture f game, and/r suspensin frm turnament. 6. PROPERLY REGISTERED COACH AND ASSISTANT COACH: Each cach r assistant cach must be registered with STYSA/BVYSA and must have a current, prperly laminated STYSA Adult Participatin Pass (Kidsafe Pass) cnfirming a valid backgrund check. The Pass must be visible at all times when that cach r team fficial is n the team sideline.

7. GUEST PLAYERS: Teams participating in the BVYSA Recreatinal Cup have the pprtunity t add a maximum f three (3) guest players t their turnament rster. Imprtant Ntes: Any Guest players used must be identified and added t yur rster prir t check-in, therwise the Guest Player will nt be eligible t participate. N Guest Players will be allwed t be added after the turnament begins. The rster may nt exceed the nrmal rstering limit. Guest players cunt twards yur rster maximum. Guest Players must be prperly registered players f STYSA/BYVSA and its Member Club. Guest Players must be f the same age grup that the team they are guest playing fr in participating. 8. A team may have n mre than three (3) individuals designated as team fficials n the team sideline at any given time. 9. TEAM AND SPECTATOR LOCATION: Bth teams and team fficials participating in the game shall be n ne side f the tuch line. Parents and spectatrs fr each team will be n the ppsite tuchline directly acrss frm their team s bench area. Parents and spectatrs fr each team may nly ccupy space n their respective half f the tuchline and may nt encrach int any ther space identified as a nn-spectatr area. NO Parent r spectatr are allwed behind the gal area. 10. TEAM AND SPECTATORS: All team fficials must remain within the designated technical area and behave in a respnsible manner. Team fficials are respnsible and will be held accuntable fr the parents and spectatrs cnduct. If the event f any issue with the parents, the referee and/r turnament directr may stp the game and request the cach t speak with his sideline. On the secnd ccurrence the game will be frfeited fr disrespectful and unsprtsmanlike cnduct. 11. A team nt ready t play at the scheduled start time will be granted a 10 minute grace perid. If the team is nt prepared t play at the end f the grace perid, the game will be declared a frfeit. 12. All teams must have at least 6 players n the field f play at the start f the game. If the team is nt prepared t play at the end f the grace perid, the game will be declared a frfeit. (See frfeit rules belw) 13. PLAYING TIME: Each player will play at least half f each game unless unable t due t illness, injury r disciplinary reasns. In the event that a player is present but will nt be playing, the cach must infrm the referee and the ppsing cach at the beginning f the match the reasn why the player will nt participate. 14. The referees will bring the fficial game card t the field and upn cmpletin f the game t Turnament Headquarters. Each cach must sign the game card immediately after the match. Inspect the games cards carefully, because nce they are signed they cannt be disputed. Turnament Staff will update the scres nline fllwing each rund f games. 15. AWARDS: Medals will be awarded t each 1 st place player and cach, 2 nd place player and Cach. 16. NO PROTESTS: All referee decisins are final. N prtests allwed. Turnament Directr will have final jurisdictin ver all matters including Turnament Discipline related t the Turnament.

17. WEATHER: In the case f inclement weather, if a game is ver half-way and a referee calls a game due t lightning r ther unsafe cnditins, then the game scre at that time will stand. If the game is nt yet at the half-way pint, the turnament directr will make the decisin regarding whether the game can be made up. Any weather related updates r issues will be cmmunicated t all teams via the GtSccer email/text system. This email update will g t the primary cntacts fr the team please keep up-t-date with that address. 18. MISCONDUCT: All players, caches and spectatrs are expected t shw gd sprtsmanship at all times. Failure t d s culd lead t the disqualificatin f the team frm the turnament. Caches are respnsible fr the cnduct f their team and supprters. Caches, players r spectatrs wh are invlved in fighting, physical r verbal abuse t a referee, ther cach, player r spectatr, may be cause fr themselves and/r their team t be ejected frm the turnament and/r frfeiture f awards due t them. If a cach, assistant cach, r any ther adult assciated with the team is ejected r asked t leave the game by the referee r turnament directr, the suspensin requires that they leave the facility and cannt return fr the remainder f that day and fr the next regularly scheduled match day. If the cach, assistant cach, r any ther adult assciated with the team fails t leave the facility, the team will frfeit the turnament. Any ther individuals wh may be reasnably cnstrued as being assciated with a team, such as relatives and spectatrs, are als subject t the jurisdictin and authrity f US Yuth Sccer and STYSA. A team may be held respnsible fr the actins f any individual at any game that is a supprt f that team. 19. Yelling and/r insulting remarks twards the referees frm caches r spectatrs will nt be tlerated. These types f cmments culd result in remval frm the cmplex fr the remainder f the day r event. Players cnduct n the field is subject t the authrity f the referee. Caches ejected r remved frm a game will nt be allwed t return t the cmplex fr the remainder f the event. 20. Cards. A player r cach receiving a red card is prhibited frm participating in the rest f that game and the next game. A secnd red card t the same individual results in that individual being expelled frm the turnament. 21. Alchl and Tbacc. N alchl may be brught t the turnament field sites. Unless therwise designated, the park is nn-smking. Smking is permitted nly in the parking lt area. 22. Dgs. N dgs will be allwed at the turnament field sites.

SCORING AND TIEBREAKERS DETERMINATION OF WINNERS - SCORING Team standings shall be determined by accumulatin f pints awarded as fllws: 6 pints fr a win 3 pints fr a tie 0 pints fr a lss 1 pint fr each gal t a maximum f 3 gals 1 pint fr a shutut *Frfeits will be scred 1-0 victry equaling 8 pints. TIEBREAKERS FOR ROUND ROBIN PLAY In the event tw r mre teams accumulate an equal number f pints within any grup, the fllwing tiebreakers will be cnsidered in rder until the tie is brken: Winner in head-t-head cmpetitin; then, if the teams are tied, Highest gal difference (gals fr minus gals against) with a maximum f three (3) gals difference per game cunted bth fr and against. Fr example, if the scre is 8-3, the calculatin wuld be +3 gals fr the winning team, -3 gals fr the lsing team. If the scre is 6-4, the calculatin wuld be +2 gals fr the winning team and -2 gals fr the lsing team. Ttal gals allwed. (Team with the fewest ttal gals allwed advances.) Kicks frm the Penalty Mark If there is a tie in determining the finalists the tw teams tied will advance t penalty kicks. Each team will chse 5 shters and 1 galie t participate (the galie can be a shter if the cach chses him\her). If the scre is still tied after each team has had its 5 shts the shtut will cntinue in runds f ne sht per team until ne team scres and the ther team des nt. 9U-10U Bys and Girls Bracket Rules Players: 8 players frm each team including galkeeper Ball size: Number 4. Rster size: Up t 12 players. Time: 20-minute halves and 5-minute halftime. NO HEADING THE BALL. If in the pinin f the referee a player deliberately heads the ball in a game, an indirect free kick shall be awarded t the ppsing team frm the spt f the ffense. If the deliberate header ccurs within the gal area, the indirect free kick shall be taken n the gal area line parallel t the gal line at the pint nearest t where the infringement ccurred. If in the pinin f the referee a player des nt deliberately head the ball, then play shuld cntinue. Substitutins: A team may substitute players (if the referee apprves) at the fllwing times: 1) after any gal, 2) at halftime, 3) during any injury stppage, 4) prir t any gal kick, 5) prir t yur thrw-in, r 6) prir t ppnent thrw-in if that team substitutes. Substitutes are nt allwed n free kicks, crner kicks, r penalty kicks. (Remember: There is nt a stppage f play n free kicks and thrw-ins; allwing substitutin interrupts play). Offside: If a ball is passed t a player by a team member and the receiving player des nt have tw ppnents (ne being the Galie) between him/her and the gal line at the time the pass begins, ffside will be called by referee. If the ball is nt passed t an ffside player, there is n ffside. There is n ffside n gal kicks, thrw-ins r crner kicks. Penalty kicks: (frm 12 yards directly in frnt f the gal): A penalty kick will be awarded fr the fllwing ffenses inside the penalty area (big bx): 1) a field player deliberately uses hands t prevent a gal, 2) serius tripping r tackling, 3) severe pushing. All ther fuls will be awarded direct free kicks. The referee will tell each cach that a penalty kick is being awarded and allw reasnable time fr the players t psitin themselves. Direct free kick: (ball may be kicked directly int gal): Direct free kicks frm the spt f the ful will be awarded fr nly the mst severe ffenses. These include hard tackling r tripping, severe pushing and intentinal handballs. The referee will ludly annunce that a direct kick is being awarded t reinfrce the meaning f the hand signal. Indirect free kick: (ball must tuch anther player befre entering the gal): All ther fuls will be penalized with an indirect free kick. (Remember: A stppage f play is nt required n free kicks; the ball may be kicked as sn as it is placed n the spt). Gal kicks: The ball will be kicked frm any pint within the gal area (small bx) and is nt in play until the ball is utside the penalty area (big bx). Oppnents will remain utside the penalty area until the ball is in play. Thrw-ins: Players will have bth feet n the grund r behind the tuchline (sideline). The ball is thrwn frm behind and ver the head. The thrwer may nt tuch the ball until it has tuched anther player. The referee will enfrce these rules by awarding the ball t the ppsing team if there is a vilatin. Unifrms/Equipment All players will wear shin guards which are cmmercially prduced and specifically designed t prvide prtectin t the shins. All players must wear sccer cleats (n baseball r ftball cleats) and sccer scks. Player Jerseys must be tucked in. N player will be allwed t play with a hard cast (padded r therwise). N player will be allwed t play with any brace (knee r therwise) that cntains expsed metal r hard plastics, unless it is wrapped with a minimum f ½ inch high-density fam wrapping r the manufacturer s recmmended prtective cating. The referee has final judgment as t any equipment a player is allwed t wear. In the event a player wishes t wear a brace r ther apparatus during a game, the player must have the apparatus inspected by the Referee prir t the start f the cmpetitin.

Each player will play at least half f each game unless unable t due t illness, injury r disciplinary reasns. In the event that a player is present but will nt be playing, the cach must infrm the referee and the ppsing cach at the beginning f the match the reasn why the player will nt participate. Substitutins: Substitutins are made "n-the-fly" and may ccur at any time withut referee permissin. Players must enter and exit at midfield. Substituting players must tuch hands with the exiting players as they exit the field, then they can enter the field. Failure t fllw these guidelines is t be cnstrued as seeking an unfair advantage. The entering player will be issued a yellw card fr unsprting behavir. Offside: N ffside rule in this divisin. Penalty kicks: Fuls cmmitted by the defensive team in the penalty bx may result in a direct penalty kick. PK s are awarded if, in the referee s pinin, an imminent scring pprtunity was nullified by the infractin. Otherwise, the kick will be indirect frm the spt f the ful. (see belw) If the ful ccurs in the gal bx which des nt deny an imminent scring pprtunity, the ball will be placed n the gal bx line parallel t the gal line at a spt clsest t the pint where the ful ccurred. PK s are taken frm a spt seven yards frm the gal line and equidistant frm the gal psts. There is n run-up t the ball. The kicker s plant ft must be placed befre the kick and remain statinary. The galkeeper must begin by standing n the gal line and may mve nly laterally befre the kick is taken. The rest f the players must be utside the bundaries f the penalty bx and behind the ball until the kick is taken. Direct free kick: There are n direct free kicks. See abve fr penalty kicks. Indirect free kick: (ball must tuch anther player befre entering the gal): All ther fuls will be penalized with an indirect free kick. (Remember: A stppage f play is n required n free kicks; the ball may be kicked as sn as it is placed n the spt). In all free kick situatins, defending players must stand at least five yards away frm the ball. If the free kick is psitined n the gal area (bx) line, players must be at least five yards away frm the ball and may stand n the gal line and between the gal psts. Any actin designed t hinder a restart ccurring within five yards f the free kick may be sanctined withut verbal warning by a yellw card fr encrachment even if the team taking the kick des nt request the distance. Gal kicks: The ball will be kicked frm any pint within the gal area (small bx) and is nt in play until the ball is utside the penalty area (big bx). Oppnents will remain utside the penalty area until the ball is in play. Thrw-ins: There are n thrw-ins. The ball shall be kicked int play frm the sideline instead f thrwn in. Physical Cntact: All cntact shall be kept t the abslute minimum. Incidental cntact may be called by the referee. Hard bdy cntact is nt allwed. Hand checking is nt allwed. The player initiating cntact will be called fr the ful. Cntact with the galkeeper is prhibited within the penalty and gal bxes.

Slide Tackling: Slide tackling is NOT allwed by any player, including the galkeeper, when within playing distance f anther player and will be sanctined with an autmatic yellw card. Slide tackles frm behind will be sanctined with an autmatic red card. All vilatins will result in an indirect kick awarded fr dangerus play unless cmmitted within the penalty bx and denying an imminent gal scring pprtunity. Players must stay upright, n their feet, and under cntrl. Fuls will be called and cards administered even if there is n cntact. Players are allwed t slide t stp/intercept a ball when the player is nt within playing distance f anther player. Playing distance is cnsidered t be three yards r clser. Galie Punts: The galkeeper is nt allwed t punt the ball. Vilatin f this rule is sanctined by an indirect free kick t the ppsing team at the pint f infractin. Buncing the ball and then kicking it (als called a drp kick) is cnsidered trickery and may result in a yellw card fr unsprting behavir. Letting the ball bunce then dribbling the ball ut f the penalty bx is legal. Releasing the ball t the grund, letting it cme t rest, and then kicking it is legal. Unifrms/Equipment All players will wear shin guards which are cmmercially prduced and specifically designed t prvide prtectin t the shins. All players must wear sccer cleats (n baseball r ftball cleats) and sccer scks. N jewelry may be wrn during the game (including watches). Player Jerseys must be tucked in. N player will be allwed t play with a hard cast (padded r therwise). N player will be allwed t play with any brace (knee r therwise) that cntains expsed metal r hard plastics, unless it is wrapped with a minimum f ½ inch high-density fam wrapping r the manufacturer s recmmended prtective cating. The referee has final judgment as t any equipment a player is allwed t wear. In the event a player wishes t wear a brace r ther apparatus during a game, the player must have the apparatus inspected by the Referee prir t the start f the cmpetitin.
