LSC Age Group Select Camp Coaches Elizabeth Lykins (UNC Asheville), Camp Head Coach elykins@unca.edu Lykins is originally from Gainesville, Ga. where she grew up swimming under the direction of Jim Young at Lanier Aquatics. She was involved with the Georgia LSC during her age group years and enjoyed being an athlete representative for her team. She returns annually to help coach the University of Georgia summer swim camps. She has completed her sixth season at the helm of the UNC Asheville women's swimming team, having guided the program since its inception in 2012. Lykins has made incredible strides with the program instituting a culture of personal growth, exceptional academics and fast swimming. The Bulldogs have been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team all 12 semesters the program has been in existence. Additionally, 75 individuals have been named to the CCSA Conference All-Academic team over the course of six seasons. Prior to her leadership in Asheville, Lykins was an assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast University. During her tenure with the Eagles, the team achieved four-straight CCSA conference championships as well as a runner-up finish in 2008. Before arriving in Fort Myers, Lykins was an assistant for three seasons at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. Her athletes posted 170 lifetime bests, eight individual conference titles, three varsity records and 14 freshmen records. Her first coaching assignment came at Georgia Southern University as a graduate assistant. In her two years with the program, the squad garnered three individual conference titles, six all-conference members, one female conference swimmer of the meet and two top-three team finishes at the conference championships. While in Statesboro, Lykins also earned her master s degree in Sports Management. After earning an undergraduate degree, Lykins was the head coach of the Telluride Torpedoes. A captain for her junior and senior seasons, she was also named the women s team MVP in 1998.

Kari Smith-Murphy (SA), Camp Assistant Coach coachkdmurphy@gmail.com Coach Kari is currently the Head Coach of Apalachee Aquatics, a summer league team within the Gwinnett County Swim League, and an Assistant Coach with Swim Atlanta at the Hamilton Mill site. She has also coached for several local high schools including the Hebron Christian Academy Lions and the Winder-Barrow Bulldogs. Since 2017, coach Kari has been volunteer with the Atlanta Swim Across America event and will be the lead coach at both Georgia Tech stroke and turn clinics this season. Kari began her swimming career at a young age, swimming on summer league teams, and continued in the sport throughout her high school years. After graduation, she realized how much she missed the world of swimming and began teaching and coaching for a small company in her spare time. She has taught swimming and coached off and on for the last seventeen years. She took a step back from the sport when her son was born in 2006 but realized how much she missed it when her husband began coaching at the high school level. Soon she picked up where she left off in 2013, assisting with a local YMCA team. From there her passion for coaching was reignited she s continued to coach in several positions ever since. When not on the pool deck, she can usually be found at the University of Georgia where she is a Graduate Student pursuing a MAT in Social Studies and an MA in Educational Theory and Practice. In 2012, he would go on to win the NCAA championship in both events, setting the NCAA record in the 1650 in the process. The record stood for 5 years until it was broken in the spring of 2017. Martin graduated from UGA with a degree in Psychology, and began coaching with ABSC as an assistant Senior 1 coach in 2014. He now serves as ABSC s primary Senior 1 Coach. In his tenure with ABSC, Martin has coached numerous Senior Sectional, Junior National, and Olympic Trial qualifying swimmers.
