Welcome to Grindleford Carnival 2018 Welcome to Grindleford Goes Wild! This year s theme has been inspired by the wonderful place in which Grindleford is located. The wildlife around us is often taken for granted so this year we are celebrating all that is wild! We are hoping to see your interpretations of what wild means to you in our fancy dress and decorating the village and hopefully some wild behaviour at our after carnival party too! This year also sees the formal posts of Matilda Cooper (Chair), Kate Codd (Secretary) and Jez Platts (Treasurer) standing down from their roles to allow the carnival to continue to change and grow. All three members made a three year promise and even though they hope to be involved with planning and helping out in the future, it s time for some new blood to take our carnival forward. It really has been good fun so if you feel like joining in and keeping the village carnival going then keep your eyes peeled for the AGM in September. Matilda Cooper, Chair Jez Platts, Treasurer Kate Codd, Secretary Matt Heason Ambassadors of Grindleford This year sees one of the biggest cohorts of children in Y6 celebrating their last year at Grindleford Primary School for a long time. We will have 12 ambassadors! ALL the children are going to be involved so this year we have Toby, Ryan, Adam, Julie, Grace, Marcia, Maddy, Heidi, Autumn, Orly, Tilly and Lily. The children will be presented with their ambassador hoody, very kindly donated by The Maynard, at our carnival opening ceremony. But, as last year, we have let them to choose what to wear on the big day. We can t wait to see what the floats will look like. There are so many ambassadors we ve had to have two!
