Dear Players, Parents and Coaches, Welcome to the Downers Grove Park District Youth soccer program. This manual is intended to serve as a guide to prepare you for the outdoor season. Information regarding policies, rules of play, expectations and code of conduct are detailed within the manual. The success of the youth soccer program is reliant on volunteer coaches, and the Downers Grove Park District greatly appreciates the time, energy and effort you dedicate to the children of our community. The Park District believes that the most important objective of our program is to give our players, coach and parents positive experience through the game of soccer. Even though this is a recreational soccer league, players will naturally become competitive. As a part of the Downers Grove community, it is the collective responsibility of the Park District staff, parents, players and coaches to create an empowering culture where learning and having fun is the focus of our program, not winning. Please take a moment to read through all the information in the manual to ensure you are prepared for the season ahead. All soccer resources are provided on our website under the youth soccer page. On behalf of the Downers Grove Park District, thank you for taking the time to help make this season a success. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns throughout the season. Thank you for your continued support of our youth soccer program. Sincerely, Toni Giovenco Recreation Supervisor Downers Grove Park District 3
