Ring Information Indoor Ring: 220' x 80' Footing = Cushion Air and Sand by Attwood Equestrian Surfaces Outdoor Ring: 200' x 135' Footing = All Weather Footing Warm-Up Area: 175' x 100' Footing = Grass and Sand USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. Rules and Regulations All riders and exhibitors must wear USEF approved (ASTM/SEI) headgear at all times while mounted. Jeans are not allowed. Formal Attire required in all Classics and Grand Prix-NO EXCEPTIONS! Jackets required in all classes. Management reserves the right to change, alter, combine, cancel, or add classes, dates, and personnel. In addition, management reserves the right to refuse any entry before the start of the competition without being liable for compensation. EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. USEF rules followed at all times during the show. Any situation that arises that is not covered by the current rules in the USEF Rule Book, will be presented to the Show Committee whose decision will be final. Palermo Show Stable, LLC, and its owners, managers, employees, staff, volunteers will NOT be held responsible for any accident, illness, injury (including death), loss, or damage occurring at the show. All entry forms are to be completely filled out, signed, and presented (fax, mail, email, or in person) to the secretary along with full payment before numbers will be assigned. No entry will be processed without payment in full and proof of memberships shown to show secretary. No one will be allowed to show without a number. Jumpers may warm up only in designated schooling areas. Parking will be allowed in designated areas only exhibitors, trainers, and spectators agree to follow the parking official's instructions. Tying horses to fences and/or use of paddocks is not permitted. All pets must be leashed while on the show grounds-no exceptions. Course Diagrams will be posted at least one hour before each class. All fences will be Jumper type for Jumper classes. Jumper riders may walk the course on foot between classes no riding in the ring the day of the show. All Classes $40 unless otherwise noted in the prize list or show office. All entries and horses on grounds must pay $20 Office Fee & $20 EMT Fee. Entries close October 15, 2012. Post entries will be accepted at a fee of $50. Scratch fee $50. All Pre-Entries will receive a goodie bag upon check-in. Declarations must be made 5pm the day before the class: in the show office, via fax (908) 719-0949 or via email: info@palermoshowstable.com-no EXCEPTIONS. Anyone not declared will go first in the order of go, if space is available in the class. Palermo reserves the right to limit the number of entries for each division or class. Should entries be limited, they will be accepted based on first come first serve by postmark date. Faxed entries are processed upon receipt of open check. There will be a $100 fee for all non-negotiable checks. Checks not made good within 10 days will be turned over to USEF for collection. All prize money won will be mailed out 3 weeks following the horse show. All entrants into any class offering prize money must provide all Tax ID information or forfeit all prize money. All horses at show must have a negative EIA test within one year. Limited stabling available $200 per stall must be reserved by October 15, 2012 - NO REFUNDS under any circumstances. Stall doors included on the permanent 12x12 or 10x12 stalls. Stalls reserved after October 15, 2012 add $50 per stall if available. Blank checks sent in with entries will be filled in and deposited for all stall reservations. Show Office opens one hour before first class. A random posted jump order will be established at the gate with the starter for all weekday classes. The posted order for the weekend Classics will be based on points earned in the corresponding divisions. Those with the fewest points to jump first, those with the highest points will jump last. Failure to enter the ring within 3 minutes of being called will result in elimination. Pre loading is mandatory for all jumper classes at Palermo. A double entry fee will be charged to any horse showing in a class in which it was not entered. All ties for other than first place will be placed based on time taken in the first round. Sharps container will be available at the secretary's stand. All horse and rider combinations entering in and NAL, WIHS, or M&S point classes must be entered in at least one other class at the same show. Trophy and eight ribbons in each class. Champion and Reserve trophy and ribbon in each division. USEF rules apply to all divisions. Each trainer/exhibitor is responsible for knowing and following all USEF, NJHSA, M&S League, NAL, WIHS, and Palermo Jumper Festival rules. Each exhibitor and trainer is responsible for having CURRENT MEMBERSHIP cards available to the show office. USEF & USHJA Non-member fees will be applied to all who cannot show proof of membership. For all classes offering more than $1000 in prize money, 12 entries are required to fill the class. Should less than 12 entries participate in the class, it will change to a Sweepstakes Class and 100% of the entry fee will be paid out as follows: 30%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 10%, 10%, 5% In accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses, or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. As an agreement as entry into the show the following is effective for all: WARNING: UNDER NEW JERSEY LAW, AN EQUESTRIAN AREA OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ANIMAL ACTIVITIES, PURSUANT TO P.L., 1997, c. 287 (C.5:15-1 et seq). HOW CAN I WIN THE FIAT? 1) The High Point Trainer from the 2012 Palermo Championship Series will win a Key that MAY start the FIAT! 2) The Winner of the 2012 Palermo Grand Prix will win a Key that MAY start the FIAT! 3) The Winner of Each of the Division Classics at the Palermo Jumper Festival will win a Key that MAY start the FIAT! (These classes are: 106, 109, 112, 115, 118) Sorry, Child/Adult and Jr-A/O Classics are NOT eligible to win a Key, but those riders can participate in the eligible Classics! 4) Each Key Winner must be present or have a representative present at the Awards Ceremony following the Grand Prix. Each Key Winner will try their key until one starts the FIAT. The one who has the Key that starts the FIAT, wins the FIAT! Only ONE Fiat will be awarded. 5) The Winner of the FIAT must accept and follow all rules, regulations, requirements, and procedures as set forth by Fullerton Automotive Group, as well as, state, local, and national governments. IMPORTANT NOTES TO REMEMBER: Portions of the show and Grand Prix will be Televised on RFD-TV, Tuesday, November 6th, 2012. Therefore, Show Jackets are required in all classes.
