OUR STORY Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Suzy, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise become Susan G. Komen and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. OUR PROMISE The Susan G. Komen promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cures. OUR IMPACT Thanks to events like the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Promise Gala and Cleats for the Cure, Susan G. Komen East Central Texas has invested nearly $4 million locally to fulfill our promise, working to end breast cancer in our local community. OUR PASSION Because 10 million women around the world could die from breast cancer in the next 25 years without the cures, Susan G. Komen is fighting every minute of every day to end breast cancer forever. 2017/2018 EAST TEXAS GRANT RECIPIENTS ABOUT THE KOMEN TYLER RACE FOR THE CURE Since 1998, Susan G. Komen Tyler, now Komen East Central Texas, has raised millions of dollars to fund the fight against breast cancer through the Komen Race for the Cure. The event, part of the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, is designed to promote positive awareness, education and early detection of breast cancer. OUR AFFILIATE Seventy-five percent of the Affiliate s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals, clinics, and community organizations that provide breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs for uninsured/under insured women in East Texas. The remaining net twenty-five percent supports the Susan G. Komen Research and Training Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational/scientific programs.

Underwriting Opportunities SURVIVOR CELEBRATION $5,000 As the Survivor Celebration Underwriter, you will receive all Sprinter Level sponsorship benefits along with the opportunity to provide a company branded gift to be placed in all Survivor Goody Bags. The Survivor breakfast is where breast cancer survivors, our most honored participants, gather for door prizes and are able to enjoy fellowship together before Race. KIDS FOR THE CURE AREA $3,500 As the Kids for the Cure Underwriter, you will receive all Runner Level sponsorship benefits. Kids for the Cure area is for children 10 & under who attend Race with their parents. The children s area will have activities on Race day, such as balloon art, face painting, photo booth, and Kid s Dash. VOLUNTEER TENT - $1,500 As the Volunteer Tent Underwriter, you will receive all JOGGER level sponsorship benefits. Your company will be able to hang a company provided banner at the Volunteer Tent where all Race Day volunteers will check-in. HYDRATION STATION $1,500 (2) As a Hydration Station Underwriter, you will receive Jogger level sponsorship benefits. Targeted Marketing Opportunities FINISHER MEDAL $7,500 With this sponsorship you will receive all Sprinter Level sponsorship benefits. All registered Race participants will receive a company branded Finisher Medal. You company will also have the opportunity to be present at the finish line to personally hand out finisher medals to each participant as they complete the Race for the Cure. START/FINISH LINE $5,000 With this sponsorship you will receive all Sprinter Level sponsorship benefits. The Start/ Finish will be branded with your company s logo. Over 3000 participants will see that you support Susan G. Komen as they begin and end our Race. RACE MILE MARKER $2,000 With this sponsorship you will receive all Jogger Level sponsorship benefits. Each mile marker (3) will be branded with your company s name and logo to be seen by 3,000+ Race participants. You also have the option to man each mile marker with company employees. You can set up a cheer station at marker and hand out promotional items. SPIRIT SPONSORSHIP $500-$1,500 (5) Depending on your sponsorship amount and the item you choose, a certain number of Spirit items will be branded with your company logo to be shared with 3,000+ Race participants.
