PROGRAM OFFERINGS AND EVENTS MAY 2016

VISION Provide the best developmental pathway in support of each player s journey MISSION We enable soccer players to reach their full potential on and off the field, with an emphasis on going to college, by providing a full range of the highest quality soccer-related experiences and empowering each player to select the pathway best suited to their goals. TABLE OF CONTENTS Letter from the President p. 1 EDP By the Numbers - The Bigger Picture p. 2 USSF Mandate Response p. 3 EDP League p. 4-9 EDP League Offerings p. 10-14 EDP Pathway to College p. 15 We work closely with member clubs to develop a positive, fair, and competitive environment based on cooperation and communication. We continually strive to be an extraordinary place to work and develop as professionals. VALUES Trust: Striving to make the right decisions at the right times for the right reasons Loyalty: Earning and valuing mutual commitments among coaches, parents, players and staff Quality: Everything is done well Respect: Everyone is treated with dignity Fair Play: Honoring the rules of the game and the game itself Access: All players deserve opportunities for development Adaptability: Always supporting the customer, even as their needs shift

1 EDP has experienced a strong growth in recent years with our members seeking a good game every week. To ensure that we keep the quality of the league intact, we have taken steps to refine our league offering to suit our rebranding efforts, focusing on the Vision, Mission and Values of the organization. This booklet provides a breakdown of the wide variety of programs we offer. Our commitment is to provide the best developmental pathway in support of each player s journey and I feel we are closer to that than ever before. 2015 was a year in which we were able to expand our range of offerings after a number of successful pilot programs. We now have programs to support all ages - from EDP Futures serving U7-U10(with league and festival play) through to open age play with United Women s Soccer and the EDP Open Cup thanks to the support of United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). We are especially proud that USASA approved EDP as a national adult league at its recent AGM. This allows us to develop and expand our adult footprint across the nation. United Women s Soccer and the U20/U23 EDP Open Cup allow us to offer programming beyond youth soccer, establishing a developmental progression for players involved in our leagues and tournaments. The EDP NPL/Super Club model has been a great success with some of the region s most prestigious clubs working collectively as a group to maximize the opportunities available to their players. Our new EDP League Schematic is now in place providing a clear picture of our league structure from top to bottom. Our league operations surround appropriate flighting ensuring a low average goal differential and a good game every week as evidenced by our average goal differential of 2.0. Other improvements have been made across the organization especially with the Pathway to College program which really epitomizes what we do. In addition to college soccer recruitment seminars at EDP showcases, Development days and the EDP College Prep Camp in July, the holistic development approach within Pathway to College is making a tangible impact on young players and their journey to college. League games on campus have been another staple of the Pathway to College calendar with successful events at the University of Maryland, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Rowan University so far in 2016. This has generated quite a stir with college coaches who highly value the opportunity to make extensive evaluations of players in the comfort of their own campus. Our hope is that a chance to spend time on campus for players is an inspirational experience as they begin their application process to college. Our staff have worked endlessly to put us in a position to effectively implement these programs and provide opportunities to succeed to the clubs and players associated with our leagues and tournaments. I hope you find offerings in this booklet that fill the needs of your club and look forward to working toward a bright future for the game of soccer in the USA. Steve Shilling EDP President

3 USSF MANDATE RESPONSE We recognize this is a year our clubs have to deal with significant challenges as a result of the USSF Mandates. EDP is uniquely positioned to help navigate this uncertainty and has developed a process to do this: BRACKETING We ll look beyond birth year to find quality match-ups and will work with clubs to reevaluate and re-bracket teams as appropriate. COMMITMENT TO GRASS ROOTS Programs for U7-U10 via EDP Futures PAIN POINTS Certain key age groups (U14/15, U16, U18/19) have additional complications. We have plans in place to ease the transition as much as possible COACHING EDUCATION EDP will offer coaching education sessions and will incorporate specific recommendations pertaining to the USSF Mandate transition We will be sending a series of communications in the coming weeks with the specific purpose of addressing these issues more deeply. Stay tuned for more information in upcoming issues of EDP News.
