Hopefully you have the opportunity to join us for the End of the Summer Bash, but if you do not, don t worry because more excitement is coming your way. September is upon us and all of the fun things marked by its arrival are coming as well. Did you know that September is also: National Chicken Month; National Rice Month; National Potato Month; National Chocolate Month; the month that the Star Spangled Banner was composed; and September 2nd is VJ Day. Some young people may not know that VJ Day was the day that the formal surrender of Japan was done aboard the USS Missouri marking the end of World War II. We are preparing for a new beginning at the Club as well. One that signals more Family activity in the clubhouse and the awakening for the upcoming fall season. There are many exciting events to come this fall, but don t forget about Saturday Morning Breakfast in the Clubhouse from 7 a.m. 10 a.m. or the Grill at the Turn. Both events will continue until the end of October. Thank you to all of the children that participated in the summer events and to the parents that gave of their time to support them. Thank you for making my wife and I feel welcome during this time. Panther Creek Club News From the General Manager THE END OF THE SUMMER BASH Sunday Evening, September 6th I have been told that back in the beginning of the Club s history there was an event called Caribbean at the Creek. I am not sure what happened during that time, but the End of the Summer Bash will feature a subset of the U of I Steel Pan Band playing their best island music. What a perfect time to bring friends and just relax with a cool island drink. The music will play from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. AQUATICS PARK NEWS What a great first year for the Aquatics Park. The fun will end on Monday, September 7th for both the Snack Bar and the Aquatics Park. The Snack Bar will be open from 10 a.m. 6 p.m. and the Pool will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. So don t forget to get your last slushy or last swim in before the Aquatics Park and Snack Bar closes for the season. The summer has now become a memory, a pleasant memory with many great events, parties, and the opening of our new Aquatic Park!! But as with all good things, they eventually come to an end. Except! The month of September is a wonderful time of year, we get the best of the summer fruits and vegetables along with the early fall season crops. The Panther Creek Garden (P.C.G. as it is on the menu) has given us an amazing assortment of produce throughout the summer and will continue to supply us with excellent quality product through the upcoming months. On another note we are scheduled to have a beer dinner and...executivechef, TJ Martin we will be doing wine dinners soon as well. Along with these we will continue to change the Specialty menu on a by-weekly rotation to offer a more seasonal selection. But we will always keep our favorites such as the Panther Creek Wedge, Grilled Salmon, and the Filet Mignon which will only change slightly as we go from summer to fall to winter. The kitchen staff and I are very much looking forward to the fall which will be just as delicious and tasty as the summer has been! Thank you all for an amazing summer!
