DESCRIPTION OF COLOUR A LIGHTHOUSE On the lighthouse sheet the students can colour the lighthouse according to the directions on the right of the page or invent their own design. Have fun and check out all the different lighthouses when your class has finished. 21
DESCRIPTION OF FRIDGE MAGNETS The students can colour and cut out the lighthouse, place mactac on the front and a small piece of self-sticking magnetic strip on the back. There you have it one fridge magnet with the lighthouse of your choice. 22
DESCRIPTION OF PIN SAVERS The pin savers are printed on card stock and covered with mactac to make them strong enough for the pins to go into without tearing. As the students receive their pins they can be placed on the saver. Students love collecting things and these pins can be obtained free from various organizations. 23
DESCRIPTION OF THANK YOU CARDS: These cards should be sent to anyone who donated pins, time, etc to help make this program a success. It is very important to have all the children sign the card along with the teacher. 24
DESCRIPTION OF PUZZLES Each child is to draw their own puzzle pieces on the picture of the lighthouse which was printed on card stock..cut them out and be able to put them together. This will teach them how to make a puzzle out of a favourite picture. 25
DESCRIPTION OF STUDENT S RECORD SHEET On this sheet the students will record the date walked in the first column and either the minutes or kilometers walked in the next two columns. The next column is used to keep a running total of either the minutes or kilometers walked. The last column is for the number of the lighthouse they are trying to reach. The distance around the school and gym need to be measured to give an approximate kilometer reading if using kilometers instead of minutes. When they have reached a lighthouse they draw a line across the page and continue on to the next lighthouse. 26
27
28
DESCRIPTION OF BOOKMARKS Students can cut out a bookmark that was printed on card stock and put mactac around the entire surface..back and front. They can then punch a hole in the top and put a piece of wool through the hole. 29
DESCRIPTION OF COLLECTOR S CARDS FILE This file contains collector s cards printed on card stock for the children to receive. Whenever they reach a particular lighthouse, they will receive a card with the name and picture of that lighthouse. These cards can then be saved in their album. The album should hold all the lighthouses contained in this program. 30
