Short Lift, Long Lower (SLLL) Kit (RK040A-015) The SLLL Kit is a lightweight, quick-deploying rescue kit for any loweroff rescue. The SLLL kit is the ideal kit for longer lowers as it uses the HaulerBiner Compact Rescue Kit independently, for mechanical advantage. This means that less rope is required over any given Height of Lift (HOL), compared with traditional pulley systems (effectively 2 x HOL). The advantages of this are: Compact & lightweight to carry Less risk of rope entanglement Quicker & easier to repack The HaulerBiner with its 6:1 mechanical advantage and it s progress capture cam, allows the rescuer to easily raise the casualty to disconnect them from their fall arrest or working line and then transfer their weight to the D4 Work/Rescue Descender, ready to lower the casualty. R-ALF Kit (RK050A-015) The R-ALF kit is a 5:1 mechanical advantage system where the master pulley (the R-ALF) has a built-in overspeed brake which, should the rescuer lose control of the rope, will automatically engage to stop the freefall within a very short distance. This means it is the easiest and safest device to use for lifting and lowering of people. Suitable for heavy loads up to 250kg, R-ALF is perfect for a wide range of uses including 2 person assisted stretcher rescues, bariatric rescue, work suspension on structures for cleaning or inspections and confined space working. R-ALF is also a superb multi-function device for confined spaces as it can be used in the vertical for lifting/lowering as well as in the horizontal for dragging. R-ALF can be used either by the operator themselves for work positioning in tanks, as an access device in sewers and manholes or by a rescuer either in the confined space or at the top anchor (a tripod for example). Pulleys All pulleys in our Prussik range have tamper-proof Rivets, in compliance with CE EN12278 (2007) & NFPA (1983). These pulleys are available with MOS2 Impregnated Bushings, or Roller Bearings. ISC Prussiks have load rated beckets, which are large enough to allow a Karabiner to rotate fully. Available in three sizes, for 13mm, 16mm and 19mm Rope Aluminium and Stainless Steel models Available with Bushings or Bearings MBS Ratings of 40, 50 and 70KN Bushings Roller Bearings Ideal for high loads at low speeds Ideal for low loads at high speeds Mechanical Advantage (MA) The theoretical MA of a pulley system is the ratio of the force that is applied to the control rope to load to be moved. This can be easily identified by the number of ropes within the pulley system (excluding the control rope). If for example there are 2 rope lengths + control rope, it is a 2:1 MA. If there are 3 rope lengths + control rope, it is a 3:1 MA and so on Theoretical MA is easily calculated. If the load to be moved is 90kg with a 2:1, the force applied to the control rope to lift the load would 90kg/2 = 45kg. If the MA is 3:1 the force needed to lift the 90kg load would be 90kg/3 = 30kg and so on In practice the actual MA value will be less than the theoretical value because of friction in the system. This friction is variable and determined by many factors including: Type and quality of bearing Condition of bearing Size of the pulley wheel The number of ropes in the system and how they are rigged The condition of the rope used Height of Lift (HOL) All of our pulley systems are measured using HOL rather than rope length. The HOL is a fixed length determined by the application (height of the structure or depth of the confined space). Typically, all our rescue kits are offered with a 15m HOL (although custom lengths can be ordered) and the MA then determines how much rope is contained in the system. For example; a 15m HOL at 3:1 MA will contain 4 lengths of 15m = 60m rope; a 15m HOL at 5:1 will contain 6 lengths of 15m = 90m rope and so on... ISC rope bags are simply coded to reflect the optimum capacity (in meters, of 11mm diameter) rope that each one can hold. Kit Bags We offer a range of practical and durable kit bags, to suit various kit types and rope lengths. ISC Bags are made from splash-proof material, have adjustable padded straps and are fitted with a drainage hole in the base. The bags have sufficient rigidity to allow the bag to be positioned in an upright and open position, for ease of use when roping up. ResQ Stretcher (STR001) The ISC Rescue Stretcher is a lightweight roll-up stretcher, made from a robust Low Density Polyethylene. The stretcher body is smooth and durable, allowing it to slide freely over a wide range of surfaces, but remain flexible enough to secure closely around the casualty for protection. All models are suitable for horizontal or vertical use, a pair of HaulerBiners can be used to allow the operator to transition from horizontal to vertical or vice versa, quickly and easily, using the 6:1 Mechanical Advantage and progress capture. Each plate is manufactured from aerospace grade Aluminium and feature uniquely shaped apertures which allow for loading with multiple Karabiners simultaneously. Tripods climb. work. rescue. TP143 The ISC rescue-rated tripod is a high performance, highly robust tripod designed for the harshest working environments. Its key feature is the WLL of 350kg (based on a safety factor of 10:1), allowing it to be safely used for rescue purposes (two-person loads). ISC Tripod Heads are manufactured from Cast Aluminium for strength and durability. The standard version (TP143) is fitted with two pulley wheels, with removable captive pins to keep the rope/wire line in place on the pulley wheel. The standard Tripod also has two swivel-eye anchor points. The Tripod legs are adjusted with Pip-pins, up to a maximum overall height of 255cm (approximately 100 ). ISC Tripods are ideal for work and rescue in confined spaces. Extensive testing of our Tripods without a foot retention strap has confirmed that our Tripods meet/exceed the strength requirements of the standard, without the need to tether the feet. Arachnipod Modular Total Edge Management System The Arachnipod has an innovative design and multi-functional capabilities. Components can be added or removed, in order to build any of the eight possible configurations: Monopole, Handrail Recovery, Standard A-Frame, Transverse A-Frame, Lazy-Leg A-Frame, Tripod, Quadpod or Bridge System. The Arachnipod, in its basic form, is a Tripod. It consists of three basic telescoping legs, each pivotally connected to an Anodised Head. The Head is produced from Aluminium extrusion with cutouts down each side. These cutouts allow two or more heads to connect together with a Quick-link Pin (similar to a hinge), which allows quick and simple addition or removal of legs, or bridge beam, to create different configurations. Each head has a D shaped shackle for guying to stabilise the structure. The pulley leg has an inbuilt Pulley, which is mounted on two Stainless Steel Roller Bearings. The Pulley is Stainless Steel and has two grooves - one to take up to 13mm (1/2 ) rope and another to take up to 8mm (5/16 ) wire cable. Stainless detent pins prevent the rope or wire from coming out of the grooves. Lazy-leg A-Frame Configuration The Lazy-leg A-Frame is a standard A-Frame, with a third, hyper extended leg (Lazy Leg) attached. The addition of the Lazy Leg provides additional stability to the A-Frame and can act as a compression member. The Lazy Leg also allows users to tip the main A-Frame on an angle, leaning the head of A-Frame out over an edge. This function is ideal for keeping rigging clear of rough edges and allows greater edge clearance for rescue loads. Each leg is fitted with an eye-bolt, allowing additional pulleys and accessories to be attached as required. Bridge System The Bridge System offers a large footspan and working height, making it ideal for spanning large holes, trenches, vats, mines and lift shafts. Bridge beams are available in 2, 3 and 4m lengths and a fitted with a load rated, sliding trolley system, which is fitted with a retrieval rope system. RAD Rope Adjustment Device (KT815) Descent The RAD Rope Adjustment Device is a multifunctional device which can be used as part of a work-positioning lanyard (for 10.5-12.7mm rope). The RAD can also be used for ascent, descent, work positioning/restraint, belay and progress capture. The squeeze style device makes smooth adjustment easy, while the spring-loaded flip down handle allows easy use, especially in descent mode. The RAD can be supplied as an individual device* which can be fitted with rope and a choice of connectors. The RAD now features a new top bollard, which allows the user the choice of fixing the side plate in place (in line with Lanyard related standards), or removing the captivation screw, allowing the front plate to be swung open. The swinging side plate is particularly useful when the device is in used in descent/ascent function. * Available outside the EU only A-B Descender (RP810) The A-B Descender is a squeeze style device, designed for use in Technical Rope Access, Intervention/Special Forces and is rated for two-person rescue loads. The A-B Descender is fitted with an extended, spring loaded flip down handle which gives extra leverage when a fine degree of descent control is required. D2 Personal Escape Kit (KT861.2) The D2 Personal Escape Kit is a compact escape kit which is designed as a personal-issue kit, allowing users to evacuate/ self-rescue. The D2 Kit is supplied pre-roped with highly heat resistant 8mm (5/16 ) Technora Aramid rope and anchor sling. Technora has an exceptionally high melting point (500 c / 932 F), compared with that of standard Polyester ropes (c.200 c / 392 F). The Aramid material also provides increased abrasion resistance. With a maximum descent height of 200m (656ft), the D2 Kit is ideal for use by a wide range of industry users, including Wind Turbine Technicians and Firefighters, as a bail-out device. The D2 Descender is an innovative double-stop Descender, which will automatically stop, should the user let go of the handle, or panic and pull the handle too far. Work/Rescue Descenders Work/Rescue Descenders feature a unique and innovative progressive cam action, which offers control at fast or slow speeds. The progressive cam works by way of one cam operating inside another cam, offering precise control in descent or belay applications. These devices have a double safety locking mechanism, which means that when loaded, the side plates cannot be rotated open, due to the position of the Karabiner. The devices are also fitted with a push-button locking mechanism. Primed Descend Park Reset Panic RP885 Work/Rescue Descenders feature an auto-lock function, to halt the descent should the user accidentally let go of the handle. The Standard D4 (RP880) and D5 (RP885) Work/Rescue Descender models feature a built-in panic brake function, which halts the descent, should the user panic and pull the handle too far and descent too quickly.
