DAY 1 - Arrival Arrive at the JKIA (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) meet our driver/guide who will transfer you to the hotel (Sentrim Boulevard) rest for tomorrow s big day. HB (breakfirst and dinner) Day 2 Nairobi- Amboseli You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel and depart for Amboseli National Park. During your drive, and weather permitting, you may get a glimpse of Mt. Kilimanjaro and its snow-capped peaks. This is also the home of the renowned Masai community. Here you will have the opportunity to learn more about their culture and lifestyle. Although Amboseli is not as large as other parks in the southern region, it still features a unique ecosystem and a variety of game that are easy to spot. It features five different wildlife habitats: the seasonal lake bed of Lake Amboseli, sulfur springs surrounded by swamps and marshes, open plains, woodlands and lava rock thorn bush country. It is also well known for its great elephant herds. Dinner and overnight stay at AA Mara Lodge FB (breakfirst, lunch & dinner)
Day 3 : Amboseli - Aberdare National Park Depart Amboseli in the morning and drive through Nairobi en route to the central province and the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya. Upon arrival you will check-in at Aberdare Country Club and then be transferred to the Ark Hotel by a hotel vehicle. Check-in at the Ark and enjoy game viewing from the hotel deck before dinner and your overnight stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Ark Hotel FB (breakfirst, lunch & dinner) Day 4 : Aberdare - Samburu After breakfast you will be transferred to the Aberdare Country Club, where you will be met by our driver and depart north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve, arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive viewing the wildlife unique to this area of Kenya. You will see the reticulated giraffe, Grevy s zebra, elephant, warthog, gerenuk, and, if you are lucky, the elusive leopard. Samburu is also home to the Samburu tribe, a group of desert nomads. Your dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Samburu Lodge. Day 5 : Buffalo Springs National Reserve Enjoy a full day in Samburu with early morning and late afternoon game drives. This is a beautiful and game abundant park that is home to rarely
found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Optional activities include a visit to a local Samburu village, camel riding, or guided nature and bird walks. Your dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Samburu Lodge. Day 6 : Samburu - Lake Nakuru Depart Samburu in the morning and drive to the floor of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru National Park. You will make a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls and arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch before going on an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approximately 400 other species of birds that call this place home. A variety of game species can also be found here, including the introduced Rothschild s giraffe, black and white rhino, water-buck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many others. Dinner and over Night stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge Day 7 : Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving at the Ashnil Mara Camp in time for lunch. You will go on an afternoon game drive and your dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
During the annual migration period, the Mara is home to almost 2.5 million herbivores, including 1.4 million wildebeest, 550,000 gazelles, 200,000 zebras, 62,000 buffalos, 64,000 impalas, 60,000 topi, 7,500 hartebeests, 7,100 giraffes, 3,000 elands and 4,000 elephants. There are also plenty of hippo, rhino, warthog and predators, including lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dog and jackal. Lastly, there are also many small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. It is truly the greatest collection of animals in the world. You will have two days to explore this fabulous reserve starting with your game drive into the camp! Dinner and over Night stay at Ashnil Mara Camp Day 8 : Masai Mara Spend the day in the Masai Mara, Kenya s most popular game sanctuary. It is here where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five : lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephants. Game drives in the park are flexible. You may spend the entire day in the park and enjoy a picnic lunch around midday. Alternatively, you can go on early morning and late afternoon games drives, and eat lunch at the lodge in between. An optional Air balloon safari can be arranged at 450USD per pax and with extra cost of $30 US dollars you have the option of visiting a local Masai village.
Day 9 (09/07/2016): Nairobi Check out after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi, arriving at approximately 1330hrs. You will have lunch at any mid-range restaurant in town at our cost. A brief Nairobi Central Business district tour to see the parliament buildings, Kenyatta conference center and other historical buildings if time allows.
