The Illinois Cup The Illinois Cup is a state championship tournament open to Illinois Youth Soccer member travel and high-level rec teams. This competition is designed for 3rd-Level teams and below. This in-state only tournament will follow the same format at other Spring Cups, with group winners advance to compete for an Illinois Cup title. In 2018, there are two tiers of the Illinois Cup.

Group Play Games Teams in Illinois Cup are scheduled at least 3 matches: 1 game schedule in Rockford on April 21 or 22 2 games scheduled in Rockford on May 12-13 Some team have a 4 th Home Team Host Game that must be played by May 20. For games scheduled in Rockford, teams can mutually agree to play prior to the scheduled date and time but games CAN NOT be played later than the listed date and time. All game change requests MUST BE RECEIVED NO Later than March 16. Times are only listed in GotSoccer and now show either: Played Before 12pm in Rockford Played 12pm or Later in Rockford Because of the amount of games moved to different locations we will finalize game times for April 21/22 by March 23 and May 12/13 by May 3.

Home Team host games Some team will games designated as a HOME TEAM HOST MATCH. The team listed first on the bracket is the home team and should host unless: The teams agree to play at another location The game requires significant travel and should be played at a midpoint. Illinois Youth Soccer has marked which games should be played at a midpoint location on the bracket Teams are responsible for any rental fees for midpoint matches Once final game details are decided, the HOSTING team MUST EMAIL THE FOLLOWING iysascheduling@gmail.com NO LATER THAN MARCH 16 1. Weather Cancelations If a match at a location other than Rockford is cancelled due to weather, teams should finalize a reschedule at the time of the cancelation and submit the new game info
Rockford games TEAMS PLAYING THEIR GROUP PLAY & SEMI/FINALS IN ROCKFORD ARE REQUIRED TO PAY A FIELD RENTAL FEE Teams will be emailed a link to pay the $50 field rental fee via a credit card by a certain day. Teams that do not pay by that payment deadline will be assessed a $25 late charge. Semifinal and Championship matches MAY NOT BE MOVED FROM ROCKFORD

Referees The Illinois Youth Soccer assignor assigns the ENTIRE REFEREE CREW for all Illinois Cup matches. BOTH teams pay $80 in cash to the center prior to the match starting. Rosters Teams are allowed to use any age eligible player from within their club that is registered with an Illinois Youth Soccer competitive league for tournament play. Those leagues are: YSSL, IWSL, CIYSL, SLYSA or ILLOWA. All players must have a US Youth Soccer/ IYSA Competitive league pass from and rostered thru one of the Illinois Youth Soccer member leagues listed above. Team must email a copy of the member league roster showing ALL players listed on their official Cup roster to katie@illinoisyouthsoccer.org NO LATER THAN 48-HRS PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST MATCH

Gameday Teams are required to bring the following to all tournament Games: 1. Gamecard printed off GotSoccer 2. Player and Coaching Passes 3. $80 referee fee 4. Pinnies ONLY 18 PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED TO DRESS ON GAMEDAYS. After The Match At the conclusion of the match the winning team (or home team if a draw in Group Play) should get BOTH game cards from the center. 1. For games played in Rockford, at the conclusion of the match a team representative is required to bring BOTH gamecard to the IYSA registration area to report the score 2. For matches held at a location other than Rockford, the winning team is required to scan or take a photo of BOTH gamecards and email them to katie@illinoisyouthsoccer.org no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the match. Teams that fail to report their result in a timely manor may be subject to a $50 fine If a red card is issued during the match, the center will keep the gamecard to submit with the red card report. Any player or coach that is issued a red card (or 2 yellows) is REQUIRED TO SIT THE NEXT MATCH or longer, WHETHER OR NOT THE PLAYER IS CROSSED OFF ON THE GOTSOCCER GAMECARD. Teams that use a player that should be serving a red card suspension will FORFEIT THE MATCH. Red Card Fines: Players: $50. Must be paid prior to the player being eligible to return to Cup games Coach: $250. Must be paid prior to coach be eligible to return to sidelines for a Cup game. Any outstanding red card fines not paid at the conclusion of the tournament will be billed to the club.
Playing Rules Group Play Scoring Group play will be based on the same scoring used at the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regionals: Win: 3 points Tie: 1 points Loss: 0 points If group play ends in a tie, the following criteria will determine tie-breakers. 1st: Head-to-head 2nd: Most Wins 3rd: Goal Differential (4 goal max per game) 4th: Goals Allowed 5th: Penalty Kicks
