TO: CT/RI Holstein Breeders FROM: Connecticut/Rhode Island Holstein Association Board of Directors RE: 2018 CT/RI Holstein Show (CT Jersey Cattle Club show will be held in conjunction) DATE: May 15, 2018 Show Date: Sunday, July 15, 2018 starting at 8:30 am- Showmanship, Saturday, July 14 at 9:00 am Place: Goshen Fairgrounds, Judge: Michael Heath, Westminster, MD. SHOW NOTES 1. This packet of information, including all forms, is available online at the New England Holstein website www.nesholsteins.com.click on the link under Current News or State Shows on the side bar. Call Dori Wolf, Secretary, at 860-267-7323 with specific questions. 2. Facilities Goshen Fairgrounds will allow moving in starting Monday July 9th. Animals may leave anytime after their show is over. The building must be cleaned by Monday noon so we will ask all exhibitors to make sure their area is fully clear of bedding by pushing it well away from the railing. We have a photographer to be on hand during and after the show to take photos. 3. Registration or signed transfer (show management will send transfer to Holstein Association) must accompany the animal to the show. 4-H lease papers are required by junior exhibitors if they do not own the animal they are showing. 4. Health papers must be available - they will be checked. 5. Animals must be owned by a least one New England States Holstein Association member. All dues must be current or may be paid at the show. Show is open to any New England Holstein Association member. 6. 2018 CT/RI HOLSTEIN FUTURITY NEEDS TO BE PRE REGISTERED. 7. Premier Breeder and Exhibitor - up to six animals will be used to determine points and points will be done according to national. Partnership animals must have one partner designated to receive points when papers are checked. 8. 125,000# class entries must be accompanied by their DHI sheet. They may also show in their respective age class, but will only receive breeder/exhibitor points from one class. 9. All adult and juniors will be judged together. Juniors will step forward to be recognized. 10. You must provide your own bedding and vacuum pump/milking equipment. If you put in a water line/water bowl, you will be responsible for any damages to other exhibitors. 11. The Connecticut Holstein Association does not assume any responsibility for the behavior and actions of juniors under the age of 18. Anyone under 18 must have parental or guardian oversight. 12. The Busy Farmers Club will have the food booth open all day on Saturday and Sunday. 13. Entries must be postmarked by June 30, 2018. There is a $5.00 entry fee per entry must arrive BY THAT DATE. There will also be a $25 exhibit fee to pay for cleanup crew. Entries postmarked after June 30 will be charged a late entry fee of $10/head.
