Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting (June 13, 2017) Motion to Approve Minutes of Last Meeting Dated June 13, 2017: Made by: Tim Bult Second: Suzanne Lendzian All in favor, Motion Carries. 2. Guest Speaker- Nicole Feller Lee Mrs. Nicole Lee returned to speak with the Athletic Directors to firm up attendance at the presentation for Ovarian Cancer Awareness for female athletes to be held on September 20 th at Monroe Woodbury High School. Program will begin at 9:30 a.m. 3. Guest Speaker- Ms. Jennifer McKay Ms. McKay, discussed the new Times Herald Record Scholar Athlete of the Month Program. Ms. Jennifer McKay, Director of Promotions Gatehouse Media East Division and Digital Director Gatehouse Media Mid-Atlantic Division for the Times Herald Record, presented a new program to the Athletic Directors The Varsity845 male and female scholar Athlete of the Month program, and ultimately the male and female Scholar Athletes of the year award to be given out at the OCIAA Scholar Athlete Breakfast on May 22 nd. Instructions and timelines were given to all athletic directors

explaining how to submit their athlete s of the month, along with deadlines for each month. 4. NYSPHSAA Summer Meeting Report Mr. James Osborne Mr. Osborne gave an overview of the items discussed at the NYSPHSAA Summer meeting. See meeting materials for documentation. 5. OCIAA President s Report: Mr. Michael Bellarosa Mr. Bellarosa introduced the new Athletic Directors in the OCIAA Mr. Lou Cioffi at Monticello, Mr. Matthew O Brien at Goshen, and Mr. Rich Silverstein at Kingston. Port Jervis and NFA still have not filled their openings. A. OCIAA Chairpeople: Chairpeople are needed in the following Sports: Girls Lacrosse Softball B. Unified Sports Bowling: Rich Silverstein Rich expressed how unified sports are great for the league to continue and how they promote unity. Rich will support the goal of having bowling begin in the late fall. C. NYSPHSAA Proposals Vote (See Meeting Materials for proposals) i. Proposed operational Procedures Volleyball Regional and State Championships 2017 Motion made by Debbie Crowe, second by John Landro. All in favor, ii. Approval of Oversight Committee Motion made by Kirk Wareham, second by David Coates. All in favor, iii. Uniform Calendar for Variation Sports for classification number change Motion made by Lou Cioffi, second by William Miller. All in favor, iv. Wrestling Eliminate 99lb weight class for league play Motion made by David Coates, second by Suzanne Lendzian. 4 abstentions, all others opposed, v. Wrestling Limit to 2 two day non-bracketed Tournaments Motion made by Mike Kroemer, second by Tim Bult. All in favor, Motion carried.

Softball- Eliminate regional certificates given out at game Motion made by David Coates, second by Tim Bult. All in favor, Motion carried. xiii. Baseball Run Rule (10 runs after 5 innings 4 ½ if home team is winning) Motion made by David Coates, second by John Landro. All in favor except Rob Gravelle, xiv. Baseball- Increase number of games to 22 Motion made by Rob Gravelle, second by Michael Gillespie. All opposed, xv. Motion made by William Miller, second by Debbie Crowe. All opposed, xvii. Enrollment Figures Tabled for now. 6. OCIAA Athletic Coordinator s Report Mr. Christopher Mayo Items of Concern: A. Fall Changes Added / Dropped Teams for 2017 Burke- JV Boys Soccer tentatively may drop Burke- Girls Swim team Fall 2017 tentatively may add Cornwall Freshmen Football tentatively may drop B. OCIAA 2017-2018 Events Risk & Emergency Plan Motion to approve the OCIAA 2017-2018 Events Risk & Emergency Plan made by Suzanne Lendzian, second by Tim Bult. All in favor, Motion Approved. C. Fall 2017 Rules Interpretations Meetings Fall Sports Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Goshen High School 7:30 p.m. Modified Football Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at Middletown High School Library 6:00 p.m. D. Fall Officials Fees 2017 / Contract Update Dennis Burkett explained the memorandum agreement for the new 5 year contract for officials should be completed very soon. There will be a meeting at the end of August where all federations will have to approve their contracts and then it will be finalized. E. Fall Coaching Courses: Schedule of dates is in materials. Instructors are TBA. F. Spring Schedules 2018: Schools were asked to review their spring schedules online. The Scheduling committee met on Monday, August 21 and approved the schedules for the Spring 2017-2018 school year. AD s will vote to approve the schedules on September 26 th. Athletic Directors were asked to make sure to look them over carefully. It was noted that subscriptions for parents via sportspak has been an added feature for this year. Parents will be notified of date, time, facility or cancellations for all games when they occur. Tim Bult brought up how it would be helpful to notify bus companies as well. This will also be looked into for the future. G. Combining of Teams Tim Bult Motion to approve the merger of Roscoe/Downsville with Livingston Manor for Cross Country for the fall 2017 season. Motion made by David Coates, second by Suzanne Lendzian. The Combining of Teams Committee agrees that they meet the requirements

for a merged team. No schedules will be affected by this merger. All in favor, Motion Carries. 7. Old Business Rolando Aguliar asked for an update on Hudl for football, there is not an update available at this point. David Coates stated the subscriptions may happen sooner than later as they are waiting on details from the MHRIC. 8. New Business David Coates noted that Middletown has changed their Cross Country Course from Davage Park to Presidential Park at the Elementary school. 4:30 pm will be the new start time. 9. Next Athletic Directors Workshop Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. At Orange-Ulster BOCES, Carl P.
