Welcome to the Burlington Country Club Summer Swim Team! Each summer, children come together to create an experience of recreation, fitness, and entertainment that helps to weave the fabric of community. For the children who participate in summer swim leagues, valuable, even lifesaving skills are acquired. For their parents, it's an opportunity to get to know neighbors within our immediate community. The BCC Swim Team operates under the following principles: To provide an environment that develops a love for swimming and fitness in each participant. To offer a positive competitive experience for both swimmer and parent. To provide coaching that allows new, as well as accomplished athletes, to improve their strokes and times throughout the season. To develop principles of teamwork, team spirit, and sportsmanship throughout all age groups on the team. Unlike many youth sports leagues and teams, our success and the efficiency with which we can complete our meets and championships depends on a team of parent volunteers from both the home as well as the visiting teams. Whether this is your first year or you are returning to us, please don't hesitate to get your feet wet on deck this season. If you are interested in officiating Vermont Summer Swim League meets, USA Swimming meets or who would like to learn about USA Swimming rules and regulations, check out this link. Officiating is a way to help support your children s activity. Officiating is voluntary and offers the best seat in the house. http://www.cvslvt.com/officialstrainingclinic.html Please return the swim team registration form to: Email: Michele.Arcovitch@BurlingtonCountryClub.org or Drop off/mail to: Burlington Country Club 568 So. He is currently working towards a bachelor s degree in Health Informatics at Southern New Hampshire University. Ashley Mitson ~ Co-Head Swim Coach I was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan. I came to Vermont to swim for UVM and studying exercise & movement science as well as minor in nutrition. I started swimming competitively when I was 6 and continued to swim for the next 16 years. My specialty was the butterfly. I will be graduating this May with a Bachelor's of Science and plan on going to grad school for clinical exercise physiology or physical therapy. I really enjoy baking and doing arts and crafts. And I have two Boston Terriers at home. Ilsa Feierabend ~ Assistant Swim Coach Hello, my name is Ilsa and I hail from the land of cheese curds and cows (aka Madison, Wisconsin). Started the fine sport of swimming at the age of 9 for my summer team, the Shorewood Sharks and continued my swimming career on to my club team, BAC and then on to my high school team, West High. When the time came for me to decide where to go for college, I immediately fell in love with the Green Mountain state. I swam at UVM for the past 4 years and was a team captain for my senior year. Now in retirement, I miss swimming more than ever, so I am excited to coach and share my passion for the sport with the youngsters at BCC. Before coaching at BCC, I coached for 2 years for my summer team back home and have taught swim lessons for the 4 past years. I also work in the audiology clinic on UVM campus and I am planning on being a Hospice volunteer starting in the summer.
