Access to the pool for a physically impaired person is available through the University of Idaho's Memorial Gym, which faces the Swim Center parking lot. Entry to the Swim Center is possible through the Memorial Gym tunnel throughout the duration of the meet. Parking is available in the Memorial Gym, Kibbie Dome and Law School parking lots. Please plan to visit the University of Idaho parking office prior to the meet to get a parking pass for Friday night. Timed finals for Friday evening, Sunday and relays, and age 10 and under events. Preliminaries and finals for age 11 and over swimmers on Saturday only. Indoor, 8 lane, 25 yard pool equipped with eight starting blocks, backstroke flags, anti-wave lane lines and electronic timing using a Daktronics System with a full eight lane scoreboard. Separate 4 lane warm-up/down pool. Starting blocks meet 2011 USA Swimming height and water depth requirements. Touch pads will be installed at both ends of the pool so that 25 yard events will use the starting blocks. Swimmers will start from the deck surface at the turn end for 100 yard relays. Deck marshals will be present for warm-ups. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). Current USA Swimming rules will govern. The rules and procedures of Inland Empire Swimming will also apply. The Inland Empire scratch rule, whistle start protocol and the no recall rule will be in effect. The referees of the meet will be the final authority for the conduct of the competition. Coaches must be registered with USA Swimming for 2011 or 2012. Proof of coaching certification must be produced on request at any time to the meet referee. Only swimmers, coaches, and officials and meet workers will be permitted in the deck area. Spectators will not be allowed in the deck area without proof of current USA Swimming membership. The deck area is considered to be a 3 foot area from the edge of the pool, the area behind the starting blocks to the timer chairs, and the area between the competition pool and the warm up pool. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming membercoach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Awards: Scoring: Eligibility: A participation award will be given to every swimmer entered in the meet. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 8th place in individual events and 1st through 3rd place in relay events. High point plaques will be awarded in each age group by gender. Plaques will also be presented to the top three teams. Individual and relay events will score to 8 places. Open to currently registered (2011 or 2012) USA swimming athletes. Registration numbers must be included with entries. Age on the first day of the meet determines the age group to enter. Each swimmer must swim in his/her respective age group. Athletes with a disability are welcome and are asked to provide advance notice of necessary accommodations.
Entries: Age 10 and under swimmers may enter up to 5 individual events per day. Ages 11 and over swimmers may enter up to 3 individual events per day on Friday and Saturday and 5 individual events on Sunday. Enter swimmers best yard times. NT (no time) entries will be accepted and seeded in the first heats. Entries may be submitted via email to rbroyles@idahovandals.com. Phone entries and late entries will not be accepted. Priority deadline for Inland Empire teams is Wednesday, November 16, 2011. The USA Swimming SWIMS database requires ALL swimmer data be correct before any meet data (swimmer times) will be loaded into the USA Swimming database. If you know of any swimmer data that is not correct in the meet database, please notify the meet referee as soon as possible. The appropriate changes will be made. The data will be sent to USA Swimming within 3 days of the end of the meet. Turn west onto Sweet Avenue, after two blocks the road will curve to the left, and take the second right (Nez Perce Drive) and follow the Kibbie Dome signs. After the golf course, turn right onto Rayburn Street. Go down the hill and turn right into the Swim Center parking lot. If you are arriving from the west, turn right (south) on Perimeter Drive (first signal past the Palouse Empire Mall). Follow Perimeter Drive past the barns, the track, and the Kibbie Dome and turn left onto Rayburn Street. Go down the hill and turn right into the Swim Center parking lot. Parking will be available in the lots next to the pool, Law School and west of the Kibbie Dome.
