July Crime Report 2017 PURPOSE: The purpose of this report is to provide an analysis of Coeur d Alene crime for the month of July 2017. Information provided: Compstat Report for calendar month and year to date. Compstat Monthly Map for calendar month. Month to Month Comparison Maps Part 1 Crimes (Compstat Crimes) by calendar month. Crime by Neighborhood & Locations of Field Interview Map for calendar month. Calls for Service (Priority 1 & 2) Hot Spot Map by calendar month / Districts 81 85 DATA SOURCE: The information used for this analysis was Summit / Spillman data compiled using CrimeView Mapping / Analysis and Crystal Report / Excel Statistical Charts.

Aggravated Assaults 35% Decrease: Incident breakdown - Seven domestics, two incidents where the victim/suspect were unknown to each other and two incidents with an unknown offender. Dispositions: Six closed by arrest, three active, one inactive and one victim refused to cooperate. Rape 33% Decrease: Both incidents reported have known suspects. Robbery Person: The victim was found unconscious in her residence after meeting with a couple that was interested in buying her furniture. Nothing was taken, Inactive case. Arson 50% Increase: One fire was caused by fireworks, suspects identified. A second fire was caused by two juveniles playing with a lighter, suspects identified. The third was a dumpster fire, no suspects. Auto Burglary 14% Increase: The majority of the incidents reported were in district 83. Auto Burglaries Non-Residential Burglary Increase: The cases have been reviewed and no distinct pattern (MO, suspects, locations). Residential Burglary 20% Decrease: Incident breakdown Four active and eight inactive. Detectives have identified a person of interest in at least two incidents and are working the cases. Theft 7% Increase: Bicycle thefts and thefts from a building increased from last month. Vehicle Theft 25% Decrease: Incident breakdown Six vehicles were reported stolen, four have been recovered (CA, WA & ID). Traffic stops and pedestrian checks are now included in the Calls for Service statistics. Removing these two types of calls would show a 9% increase in calls, as opposed to a 30% increase.
