A Few Swim Lesson Reminders Arrival me: Swimmers should be present in the designated mee ng area and ready to swim ve minutes prior to their class me. Remind your swimmers to use the restroom before class. Class Check in Procedure: Upon entry into the building for each lesson, you and your swimmer (s) will check in at the Front Desk. ALL MEMBERS must scan their card(s) and will receive a wristband. On the rst day of class please stop at the swim lesson check in table. Enrollment in the class permits admi ance into the locker rooms, family changing rooms and aqua c facility during the swimmer(s) scheduled class me, but does not permit open use of the pool(s), eld house, weight room or tness rooms. Ask a Front Desk A endant about Punch Passes available for purchase for a er class swimming for Learn to Swim Sessions 1,2, 6 & 7. Swim Diapers: Official Swim Diapers are required for children who are not toilet trained. Swimmers requiring a swim diaper must also wear a swim suit that fully covers the swim diaper. Furthermore, diaper changing is not permi ed anywhere on the pool deck or in the mee ng rooms. Diaper changing must take place in the Family Changing Rooms or Locker Rooms; this is an Ohio State Code. Locker Rooms: Please dress swimmer(s) in the locker room, not in the pool area. Out of respect for all the members and guests, all children requiring the assistance of a parent or adult of the opposite gender should use the Family Changing Rooms located off the Lobby area. Proper Swimming A re: If your swimmer has longer hair we highly recommend he or she wear a swim cap or their hair ed back. All swimmers must wear a proper swimming or bathing suit. Proper swim suits are o en made from lycra, nylon or polyester. They are designed to be quick drying and do not dras cally enlarge upon contact with moisture. Swimmers are not permi ed to wear T shirts without Facility Management approval. Goggles and Flota on Devices: One of the goals of lower level classes is to teach children how to be safe in water. Allowing children to wear goggles or use ota on devices undermines their ability to perform survival skills. Submersion of their face/eyes is a cri cal skill in developing proper breathing techniques as well as simply gaining maximum comfort in the water. By allowing children to wear goggles or use ota on devices at an early level they become dependent, which can later inhibit their swimming abili es. For these reasons, swimmers are strongly discouraged from wearing goggles prior to Level 3 and may not use ota on devices. Wai ng Area: Parents of swimmers under 12 years must remain in the building at all mes. Once checking in at the Front Desk has been completed, you may walk your swimmer(s) to the Back Mee ng Room adjacent the Back Pool, where lessons take place. There, the instructor will meet each class and take a endance before each lesson. Non member parents and caregivers must remain in the Back Mee ng Room for the dura on of lessons. Parents and caregivers are permi ed to be present on the Back Pool Deck to observe their swimmer s progress on the rst (1 st ) and last (6 th ) day of lessons only. The Splash Pad will remain closed during lessons in order to keep distrac ons to a minimum for op mal learning. Addi onal Prac ce Time: If swimmers would like to come earlier or stay later than their designated class me, Daily Admission Passes and memberships are available at the Front Desk and can be purchased at any me. Swimmers must have a wristband. Absence: All classes have speci c student:teacher ra os that ensure quality instruc on and a safe learning environment for your swimmer. Due to safety concerns, make up classes are not available during another class s scheduled me. Addi onally, Splash Zone does not offer private makeup lessons. Rain/Safety Days: In the event of inclement weather, alterna ve measures will be taken so as to avoid class cancella on. Should an en re class be cancelled due to inclement weather, a make up class will be scheduled. Should an en re session be cancelled due to inclement weather, refunds will be issues. If you are uncertain if classes will be held because of poten ally bad weather please call The Splash Zone 440 774 5059. Refunds: Refunds will only be issued up to 5 days prior to the start of the rst day. All refund requests less than 5 days prior to the rst day require a valid medical excuse and Facility Management approval. Refund requests are addressed on a case by case basis. Health and Hygiene: The chlorine and ph levels in the Splash Zone are constantly checked by automated chemical controllers and manually by aqua c staff. The Splash Zone follows all guidelines established by the Lorain County Health Department, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Preven on. However, please remind your swimmer(s) to use the restroom before entering the water and to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Do not allow your swimmer(s) to enter the water if he or she is suffering from an illness that causes diarrhea, or has had diarrhea in the last week. Do not allow your swimmer(s) to enter the water if he or she carries an open wound, lesions or contagious rash. Lastly, we d like your swimmer(s) to have a safe and wonderful experience!!
