CINDY BROZ ALLEN, COMMODORE Welcome Aboard! Thanks to our volunteer Event Hosts, this year is full of fun boating and social activities for SeaGate Yacht Club. Be sure to get your Green on and join the shenanigans at the Saint Patrick s Day Party, hosted by Cathy Kelly and Mary Ann Brinket on Saturday, March 17 th. There will be Great Irish Fare, Fun Games and Entertainment (think Riverdance!). And on Saturday, April 21 st, there is the Can t Miss event, Opening Day, hosted by Junior Staff Commodore Kelly Tidwell and Fran Cyrus. There will be the Parade of the Fleet in the early afternoon and the Opening Day Ceremony after at the Clubhouse. Be sure to sign up early, you don t want to miss out on all the fun!! I thank all members and guests who have supported SeaGate Yacht Club by joining, attending and helping at events. If you are new to the Club or haven t attended in a while, please support your Club by coming to events. ERLENE PACE, VICE COMMODORE What a great start to a new year! The New Members Brunch, hosted by Vaughn & Pat Jenkes, scored us three new memberships. The weather this year made it even more enjoyable. Thanks to the six boats & Captain s who ferried us all to Acapulco Restaurant & back safely. Also, thank you Marilyn & Larry Schwartz for carting back & forth the Ships Store merchandise, which is always a nice addition to any event. One of our new events this year was It s Magic, hosted by Staff Commodore Bob & Linda Axel, which sold out fast. In addition to a delicious Prime Rib & more buffet, a Magician came to each table & astonished us with sleight-ofhand card & coin tricks. It was a delightful evening. Be sure to sign up early so you don t miss out on the fun. Get your green on for the next event & I ll see you there! FRANCIS OKINO, REAR COMMODORE Email notification was sent on 2/13/18 to Seagate Yacht Club members, who own large boats, requesting their participation in the Opening Day Boat Parade on April 21, 2018. The notification was also sent to owners of electric boats (Duffy) on 2/23/18, asking them to also participate in the parade. So far few have responded. Because we want many boats to participate in this parade, we are kindly asking you to consider participating with your boat in this very important day for our club. Thank you in advance for your support of the club. DR. We enjoyed fabulous sailing weather. Several new brunch offerings included tri-tip steak and carne and pollo asadas. The Ship s Store Boutique did a brisk business thanks to Larry & Marilyn Schwartz efforts. Fun games and great prizes made for a really great event.

It was a magical evening for SeaGate Yacht Club members and guests as the attendees at the Sold-Out event enjoyed a succulent Prime Rib (and lots more!) Buffet at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club while a magician entertained us table-side. Thank you Event Hosts Staff Commodore Bob and Linda Axel for an enchanting time!

Thank you SGYC Members for your renewals. I want you to welcome new members to the club. At the end of last year Pete & Terry Cotto joined. As of this year, Donna Wells, Don & Sandy Gage and Rex & Marcia Peters have joined SGYC. All members, please introduce yourselves to these very welcome new members at upcoming events. Also, remember, if you refer a new Seagate resident into the club, we will reward you with a hat and Burgee pin from the Ship Store.
