It is the first time that the Bobcats have opened their conference schedule with two straight road games since 1997. Texas State opened its 2016 Sun Belt schedule at Georgia State last Saturday. Texas State enters the ULM game with a 1-2 overall record in road games this season and will be looking to win their first Sun Belt road game since winning 54-31 at Georgia State on Nov. 29, 2014. The Bobcats won their first SBC road game earlier that season at ULM on Oct. 25, 2014. Texas State opened last Saturday s game at Georgia State with a touchdown drive, marking the first time this season that the Bobcats have scored on their opening drive in a game. Tyler Jones threw for 300 yards at Georgia State to mark the second straight game he has passed for 300 yards in back to back games. The last time he accomplished the feat was in 2014 when he threw for 302 yards at Georgia State and 300 yards at South Alabama. This season, he set a school record with 475 yards passing against Incarnate Word before throwing for 300 yards and one touchdown at Georgia State. Luna also had three receptions for 35 yards and a TD against Incarnate Word. The Bobcats did not allow Georgia State to score in the first quarter. This was the first time they have held an opponent scoreless in the opening quarter this season. Texas State joined Georgia Southern as the only two Sun Belt Conference teams to recover three fumbles in a game this season when the Bobcats recovered three fumbles at Georgia State. It was the first time that TXST recovered three fumbles in a game since they accomplished the feat at Georgia Southern last season. Bryan London recorded nine tackles at Georgia State after leading the Bobcats in tackles during the first four games this season. He opened the season with a career-best 12 tackles at Ohio before recording 10 tackles at Arkansas, 11 stops against Houston and eight tackles against Incarnate Word. O Roy also forced a fumble against Georgia State and that is his first forced fumble of the season and second of his career. The first time came at New Mexico State on Nov. 7, 2015. Gabe Lloyd joined Teron Fitzgerald as the only two players in the Sun Belt Conference this season to recover two fumbles in a single game. They are two of four Sun Belt players who have recovered two fumbles this season. Fitzgerald recovered two fumbles at Ohio and forced a fumble, the first of his career, at Georgia State.
