Parade Agreement: The African American Heritage Parade Organization s ( AAHPO ) Rules Of Governance The African American Heritage Parade is for children. Its purpose is to provide entertainment and recreation for them and their families. As a parade participant, you agree to be photographed, videotaped and grant the AAHPO permission to put the finished footage/photography to any uses that it may deem proper including (though not limited to) marketing, advertising and PR related activities (using - though not limited to - print, radio, television, internet and social media). You hereby release, discharge and agree to hold harmless the AAHPO, its affiliates, employees, officers, and directors from any liability or claimed liability in connection with the aforementioned use of your photograph, name, likeness or performance, including, but not limited to, any claim you have or might have for invasion of privacy, misappropriation and/or defamation. The AAHPO, Incorporated reserves the right to deny permission to participate in the African American Heritage Parade or After Parade Activities to any individual, group, company or organization that does not fully comply with these Rules of Governance. Any individual, group, company or organization permitted to participate in the African American Heritage Parade agrees to abide by all rules and regulations now or hereafter promulgated by AAHPO. Failure to comply by any individual, group, company or organization will result in the denial of participation in the African American Heritage Parade and/or After-Parade Activities. AAHPO will have the sole right to determine any participant s failure to comply with these Rules of Governance. AAHPO has the right to approve or disapprove the wording of any sign carried or otherwise displayed in the African American Heritage Parade or After-Parade Activities. AAHPO reserves the rights to limit the number of marchers in the parade on behalf of any particular participant. AAHPO reserves the right to approve uniforms, costumes or other clothing worn by individuals, companies, groups or members of any organization participating in the African American Heritage Parade or After-Parade Activities. AAHPO reserves the right to approve messages, sound, wording, music or video used by participants in the African American Heritage Parade or After-Parade Activities. Each participating individual, group, company or members of any participating organization will comply with all applicable federal, state, county and local laws and ordinances at all times in connection with the African American Heritage Parade and After-Parade Activities and agrees to do so by participating in the African American Heritage Parade and After-Parade Activities. The foregoing rules prescribe the terms of participation in the African American Heritage Parade and/ or After-Parade Activities. All participants must adhere to the above Rules of Governance, and any other rules or regulations promulgated by AAHPO at any time. I agree to uphold all rules and regulations of the African American Heritage Parade, the City of Newark, and the State of New Jersey.
I further fully release and discharge, and hold harmless the African American Heritage Parade, AAHPO, Inc., and its officers, staff, employees & agents, all sponsors, the City of Newark, and the State of New Jersey from any and all claims from injuries, including death, damages or loss of property which I may have or which may impact me on account of my participation in the activities of the African American Heritage Parade. I, further agree and grant African American Heritage Parade, the AAHPO, Inc., and its officers, staff, and agents will not assume liability for any act of God, natural disaster, exposure to adverse weather and conditions, damages, injuries or any legal authority, war, insurrection, civil disobedience, criminal acts, or any cause above and beyond the control of AAHPO, Inc., the African American Heritage Parade and the officers, agents, employees, sponsors, and the City of Newark.
