Entries: Entries will be accepted in first come basis until show is full, additional entries will be accepted to fill scratches without a post entry fee. Any entry received after the closing date will be assessed a $10 per ride late charge/ post entry fee if accepted. Entries must include all required fees, membership proofs/copies, signatures and payment. If you have questions on appropriate required fees for each competition, please call management for clarification. No phone entries. Emailed or fax entries will incur an additional $20 service fee. If the show is cancelled due to severe weather or other emergency, all fees less the office fee will be refunded. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. These shows follows all current USEF rules and uses current dressage tests, it is the competitor s responsibility to be informed. Freestyles: Request CD format for music. Sound check available during breaks in show, contact announcer. Know your eligibility requirements and submit proof of qualifying with entry. Ride times: Posted on website, may be updated; PLEASE double check your times the day before the show. They will be final by 6pm the night before the show. We try not to do large shifts unless many scratches leave holes in the schedule. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to contact the management (831-336-2801 or 831-247-5584) if unable to access the times online. Show Attire: show attire per USEF rules will be required at recognized shows. Effective March 1, 2011, for dressage: Anyone mounted on a horse must wear protective headgear except those riders age 18 and over while on horses that are competing only in FEI levels and tests at the Prix St. Georges level and above (including FEI Young Rider Tests, the USEF Developing Prix St. Georges Test and the USEF Brentina Cup Test). We encourage use of protective headgear while riding at all levels. Schooling shows require boots (half chaps/paddock boots are allowed), breeches and ASTM/SEI approved headgear. Awards: Ribbons to 5th, horse appreciation goodies for all, prizes for 1st place in classes with 2 or more entries. High score award for each show, series high score trophy awarded at the last show to the highest scoring ride of the series. Awards and tests are picked up at the awards table. No mounted awards. Stabling: Temporary stabling for all shows: $125, 10x10 vinyl siding with doors, no bedding provided. Oversize (2x) stalls available by request for double fee. Two permanent large foaling stalls with wooden doors, (shavings included) by special request will be reserved for stallions or oversize horses. We can call your tests for you if needed; Just let the announcer know as you enter the arena.
Accommodations: Many hotels in 10-20 minute drive from show grounds. Motel 6: 831 / 728-4144 ( allows pets); Holiday Inn Express 831-728-3600; Red Roof Inn, 831 / 740-4520; more available. Arenas/Footing: Footing is excellent sand/synthetic and dust-free in both arenas. Warm up is covered 23m x 60m, show arena is outside. Standard 20m x 60m arena for all classes. Dogs: Please leave your dogs at home or in/at your vehicle as the farm dogs feel strongly about protecting their turf. Management will ask anyone bringing a dog near the show arena to head back to your car. Test Calling: We have a PA system/microphone for music and calling tests (as occasionally a passing plane can cause enough noise for an unamplified reader to be unhearable). Our announcer is willing to call your test or you may have your caller use the PA system. Lunging: Allowed only if the warm-up arena is vacant or with one other rider present (and must have consent of that rider). The parking areas in the fields have areas that are safe to do basic lunging. Food: Food, drinks and coffee are available throughout the show day at the check in area. USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 nonmember registration fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. EC 7/21/08 Effective 12/1/08 USEF GR301.6 Every person participating in any competition recognized by the Federation is subject to the Federation Bylaws and Rules including the provisions of Chapters 6 and 7 and is responsible under the rules for their own acts and failures to act and for the acts and failure to act of their agent or agents whether or not they or their agent or agents have signed an entry blank. GR1301.7 Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of recognized competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. Violators of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parents(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. MEDICAL WASTE: In accordance with the rules of USEF Bio-Hazardous Medical Waste containers are provided at the show office.
