To accommodate all eligible championship rides, Open classes may be cancelled. This schedule is tentative. Championship classes may be scheduled, if necessary, on days different to those indicated above. Musical Freestyles Only CDs are allowed and must be given to the show office the day before the class. Please LABEL the CD with Exhibitor Name and number, Horse name and Class Number/Level. Sound checks times will be posted at the show office on day prior to your ride time. Competitors are responsible for picking up their music before the end of the show. CD s will not be mailed Foreign Competitors: Show management strongly advises Foreign Competitors to review GR 828.4.A in the USEF rulebook. Foreign Competitors who desire to compete in non breed restricted, National Competitions in the FEI recognized disciplines in the US must have proof, in English, of membership in good standing from their National Federation or must be members in good standing of the United States Equestrian Federation. Competition management must request proof, in English, of current membership in good standing from their respective National Federation, or proof of current USEF membership. USEF Article GR828.4.A. Classes: All Qualifying classes are indicated (Q) for 2018 qualifying season. If entering Adult Amateur classes, USEF card must declare amateur status. Specify test in Test of Choice (TOC) classes. If the test number and/or FEI description is not indicated on the entry, the test assigned will be the highest test of the level. A horse may enter each Test of Choice class only once. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications for the current federation rulebook will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or reorder classes, add or substitute judges, or make any other changes required. Helmets: (ref DR120) From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds including non competing riders, riders on non competing horses, and those competing in all classes and tests, including Para Equestrian tests must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. Other Information: USEF rules require that competitors must request permission of the show secretary when removing their horse from the show facility prior to the end of the show. (USEF GR805.1.) No horse may compete in more than two successive levels at any one recognized show. Only one rider per horse in any one class. Lateness will result in elimination. All horses on grounds must wear a bridle number while out of stall. Mailed Entries: No Fax, e mail or phone entries accepted. Include all required, current, legible horse/rider/owner/trainer/coach documentation with entry. All entries must be signed Mandatory: Owner, Rider, Trainer. Coach only if applicable Minors MUST have their parent or legal guardian signatures, as well as their own signature. For NWD Championships proof of eligibility must be included with entry. (see page 7) Any entry received without all required information, documentation, required signatures, will incur additional fees. and will be subject to the non refundable Document search Fee of $40.00 per entry. Entries will not be accepted without full payment of fees. (see page 2) Entries must be received by the closing date: August 28th, 2017. Late entries for GAIG/USDF Championship accepted on an as space available basis. Late entries for NWD Championships and Open Classes accepted on an as space available basis. Each entry change requested in writing, and granted by show secretary, after closing date is subject to $10.00 fee per change. Confirmation of entry will be e mailed to the email addresses legibly listed on the entry blank. Entry discrepancies must be rectified within 24 hours of emailed confirmation being sent. Management reserves the right to limit the number of horses a rider may enter in the same open class(es). Management reserves the right to cancel any classes due to hazardous weather, Acts of God, accident or emergency. Management reserves the right to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed sufficient by show management. Payment MUST be included with entry. No entries accepted without payment. Cancellations prior to the closing date and received by noon September 4 th 2017, will be refunded in full, less office fee and document look up fee if applicable. Cancellations after closing date and received by noon September 15 th, 2017 will be reimbursed 50% of fees less office fee and document verification fee if applied. In order to receive the refund, a written and dated veterinarian or doctor s certificate must be received by the Show Secretary by noon September 18 th, 2017. Region 6 Dressage - Page 6 of 31

No refunds for any reason, including inclement weather or other acts of God, after noon on September 15 th, 2017. Refund checks will be mailed to the RIDER after the final day of the show. Qualifying fees are non refundable and will be forwarded to USDF Refund checks expire 60 days after writing, e.g. must be cashed no later than November 30, 2017. Checks not cashed by that date are null and void, and all funds on those checks revert to Dressage Northwest. Ride Times Provisional Ride times will be e mailed to riders and posted on www.foxvillage.com and www.dressagenorthwest.org after Thursday September 15, 2017 (be sure legible email addresses!) It is the responsibility of the Rider to inform the management of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the schedule. Ride times cannot be changed unless dire need is demonstrated and an equitable solution among all riders affected is available. 2017 NORTHWEST DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS September 21 24, 2017 * * Ford Idaho Horse Park * * Nampa, Idaho Riders from the US Northwest and Canada are invited to participate in the Northwest Dressage Championships, to be held in conjunction with the Great American/USDF Region 6 Dressage Championships. The goal of the championships is to create a supportive environment that showcases dressage horses and riders from the area, and acknowledge their achievements. Qualifying Requirements for NWDC: Each horse/rider combination must earn a total of three qualifying scores using any test of the level (i.e., Second 1, or Third 2) at three different USEF/USDF recognized competitions in USDF Region 6, from three different judges, Minimum Qualifying scores are listed below. USEF tests must be used for Training through Fourth level. All FEI test scores are eligible. The highest test of each level will be ridden at the Championship competition. Photocopies of the face pages of qualifying tests or USDF score check print out must be included with the entry form. No qualifying fee per class is required at the time of qualifying. Riders must earn two scores at the level at which they wish to qualify; from two different judges, at two different recognized competition within Region 6, with in current qualifying year. Freestyle Championship Classes are offered at First level through Grand Prix. HORSE/RIDER QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Rider, trainer, owner need not be a US citizen. Rider, owner, and trainer must be members of the USEF or pay the Show Pass fee. Equestrian Canada membership qualifies Canadian competitors. Canadians should apply to USEF (no fee) for AMATEUR STATUS to ride in AA classes. EC members must be USDF members or pay USDF non-member fee Qualifying is based on each horse rider combination. Only one rider per horse, but riders may qualify as many horses as they wish. Qualifying scores must be obtained from recognized competitions held in the same Qualifying Season as the Great American/USDF. 2017 NORTHWEST DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS -- RULES The gate will not be closed for Northwest Dressage Championship classes or Open classes. At no time during a NWDC Championship competition, from time of entry on the show grounds, may any horse entered in that championship competition be ridden by anyone other than the rider entered in the championship competition on that horse (exception: grooms riding on loose rein). 2017 NORTHWEST DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS -- RULES - Continued Any horse entered in a championship competition, even entered at two levels, must be ridden by the same rider throughout the entire competition. This applies even after a horse has completed its championship classes. Hors de Concours entries are not permitted in NWDC championship classes Cross-entering open/adult amateur divisions is not permitted at the same or at adjacent levels except at a level that does not offer an adult amateur division. All championship tests must be ridden from memory. Whips may NOT be carried in NWD Championship classes In a NWD championship class, the horse/rider combination must obtain the necessary minimum percentage score to be named champion or reserve champion. If the highest placed horse/rider combination receives less than the minimum percentage, there will be no Champion or Reserve Champion issued. However, an awards ceremony will be held and a first and/or second place ribbon will be awarded. NWDC championships classes will not be split. NWDC Championship classes at consecutive levels may be held on the same day. Entry to Grounds, Loading, Parking & Stall Assignments Arena(s): All exhibitors entering the grounds must check in with the Ford Idaho Horse Park office to receive their horse stall and RV assignments. A $100 deposit is required on all RV's, There is NO reservation until the $100 deposit is received by the Ford Idaho Horse Park Visa or Master card is accepted. Loading and unloading of horses and horse trailers will be at the direction of the Ford Idaho Horse Park staff. All vehicles must unload and then move to designated parking areas as determined by the Ford Idaho Horse Park. No permanent parking will be allowed around barns without prior approval by Ford Idaho Horse Park. Facility Management reserves the right to have vehicles towed at owner s expense if they are blocking a fire lane. All classes will be ridden in a standard court (20 x 60 meters). (USEF DR126.6.a) Ford Sports Center covered arena s and four outdoor arenas with sand footing. Two large outdoor warm ups with footing identical to competition arenas. Lunging is permitted in designated areas only. NO lunging permitted in the arenas, warm up or grass. NO one is permitted in the warm up arenas on foot. Stabling: Stabling must be purchased from the Ford Idaho Horse Park. Please contact them directly. Please do not send stabling fee with entry. If required to remain overnight, horses must be stabled on the competition grounds. While in most cases, Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championship horses do stay for their applicable awards ceremony, riders are permitted to ride substitute horses in awards ceremonies which may allow for a horse competing in the Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championship classes to leave the grounds following their Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Championship classes. USEF DR127.8 Exhibitors are not permitted to use nails or screws for attaching decorations or hanging tack, supplies, buckets, etc. The competitor will be charged for repairs of any damage to designated Stalls. If you have more than one horse, please specify One name for the individual to keep the horses together. Stallions or special stabling requests. Day Stalls: DAY STALLS only allowed for competitors entered in Northwest Dressage TOC Open classes. (Thursday/Friday day stalls 7am 7pm) No Day Stalls for Dressage Northwest or Great American Championships. Working out of your trailer is not allowed for you and your horse safety. Additional Bedding: Additional Bedding is available on the grounds from Ford Idaho Horse Park. Please pre order bedding via The Ford Idaho Horse park website, www.fordidahohorsepark.com. Bedding will be in your stall upon arrival. YOU CANNOT BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING IT MUST BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE FORD IDAHO HORSE PARK Wash Racks: All horses will be washed in the designated wash racks only there are 11 wash bays that operate like a car wash including an Equine solution for soap. No extra charge! NO washing or hosing off of any horse may be done in the stalls or alleyways. Night Watch / Security: The facility has a night time security on grounds and will be monitoring show grounds. It is REQUIRED you have all contact information posted on your stall (i.e. hotel, cell number, etc. ) Stall cards will be provided. Sharps containers: Dogs: Will be provided in each barn (one per 50 horses) pursuant to USEF GR 1211.5. Competition management may fine any individuals, including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agent up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharps disposable instruments Hospitality: Idaho health code prohibits dogs from being any building. Please clean up after your pets Dogs (per USEF Rule 301.6) are not permitted to be loose and must be leashed. We request leashes not be more than six (6) foot long and be non retractable. Minors who do not have a valid driver s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardians) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainers(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. USEF Article GR901.29. The Awards Ceremonies for the Great American /USDF Regional Championships and NWDC are listed on a singular announcement. Awards and tests can be picked up at the Award s Office after the formal ceremony for that class. This office is in the Ford Sports Center. Office Hours will be published in the show program. Federation Entry Agreement I have read the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the Federation ) Entry Agreement (GR906.4) as printed in the Prize List for the Great American/USDF Region 6 Championships/Northwest Dressage Championships and Open Show ( Competition ) and agree to all of its provisions. I understand and agree that by entering this Competition, I am subject to Federation Rules, the Prize List, and local rules of the competition. I agree to waive the right to the use of my photos from the competition, and agree that any actions against the Federation must be brought in New York State. EC 9/21/09 Effective 12/1/09 USDF Dressage Seat Medal, Semi Final 13 & under, 1st 8th (Class #601,) and USDF Dressage Seat Medal, Semi Final 14 18, 1st 8th (Class #602) Awards for these classes will be presented at the conclusion of the class, prior to the class being excused from their competition arena. Great American /USDF Regional Championships Awards Ceremony Champions in each region and division will receive $344 in prize money, an embroidered jacket and a gift certificate provided by SmartPak, official supplement feeding system of USDF. Reserve champions in each region and division will receive $229 in prize money, along with a saddle pad provided by the Great American Insurance Group, title sponsor of the championships. Horse neck ribbons for Champion and Reserve Champion and ribbons through 8th place from USDF. Riders placing in Great American /USDF Regional Championship classes must be present, mounted and in full riding attire, for awards ceremonies (eight places for all Championship classes). Failure without prior permission of the competition manager, in consultation with the Technical Delegate, Awards Coordinator and USDF Representative, to be present and properly attired will eliminate the official score and placing and the next highest score will move up in placing. In the case of inclement weather, unmounted ceremonies may be held. Prize money for Great American/USDF Regional Championships will be paid directly by the USDF office to the recorded horse owner within thirty (30) days of the last day of each championship. All champions must have their photograph taken in the Awards Photo opportunity area. NWDC Awards Ceremony There will be Special Awards for Champion and Reserve Champion. Ribbons will be awarded for 1 st 8 th, by division The schedule for NWDC awards ceremonies will be posted in the show office. The rules, policies and procedures for NWDC awards ceremonies shall be those of GAIG/USDF Regional Championships. Non Championship Open classes. Ribbons 1st through 6th place, pinned by rider division. There is no award ceremony for non championship open classes. Northwest Cups: USDF Northwest Cup (1 st through 4 th level) and FEI Northwest Cup (PSG through GP) The Northwest Cup is awarded to the rider and horse combination with the highest weighed average of their scores for their Northwest Championship Freestyle ride, and their Northwest Championship ride of the same level. Breed Awards Charlotte Johnson Perpetual Morgan Trophy Awarded to the High Point Morgan of the show. In order to compete for this award you MUST include a copy of your Morgan Registration papers with your entry. Sylvan Trophy Awarded to the Hanoverian or Oldenburg bred and born in Region 6 Shown at First Fourth level earning the highest percentage. In order to compete for this award please include a copy of your registration papers showing place of birth with your entry. Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society (OHBS) High Score Award The horse must hold registration papers from The Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society or its parent registry, Oldenburger Pferdezuchtverband e.v. (aka the German Oldenburg Verband). Competitor must provide horse's year of birth, sex, color, and name of sire on entry form. Oldenburg registration number also highly recommended. Eligibility will be confirmed by the OHBS office prior to the competition. Only USDF Region 6 Training to Grand Prix Championship classes will count toward this award. The High Scoring horse will be awarded an OHBS/GOV High Score neck sash or rosette, and the owner will be awarded a voucher from OHBS for $150 Musical Freestyle, FEI Junior Team, FEI Young Rider Team, and Junior Dressage Seat Medal will not be counted. Additional Breed or High Point awards maybe added. See www.dressagenorthwest.org Excusal from Awards (Procedure for Excusal) In the event that you cannot attend the award ceremony for your class, the following must be done: 1. Obtain the Excuse Me From Awards form from the Show Office. 2. Complete the EMFA form and return it to the Show Secretary by 3 PM the day before the award ceremony in question. 3. The EMFA will be reviewed by the following persons: Show Manager, Show Secretary, Awards Chair, USDF Representative, Technical Delegate and Safety Coordinator for Approval. 4. The EMFA form must include details of the situation that prompts the request. 5. You will be notified if the EMFA Review staff have additional questions and either approves or denies the EMFA request. Membership Statement Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee.
