So he said to me, Go to Abu Abdullah asws and ask him asws, What is your asws view, for they have cried before me, so I came to you. So I said it to him asws, and he asws said to me: Tell him, so let him come out. I said to him asws, When should he go out, may I be sacrificed for you asws? He asws said: On the day of Monday. I said, How should he deal with it? ق ال ي خ ر ج ال م ن ب ر ث م ي خ ر ج ي م ش ي ك م ا ي م ش ي ي و م ال ع يد ي ن و ب ي ن ي د ي ه ال م ذ ن ون ف ي أ ي د يه م ع ن ز ه م ح ت ى إ ذ ا ان ت ه ى إ ل ى ال م ص ل ى ي ص ل ي ب الن اس ر ك ع ت ي ن ب غ ي ر أ ذ ان و ل إ ق ام ة ث م ي ص ع د ال م ن ب ر ف ي ق ل ب ر د اء ه ف ي ج ع ل ال ذ ع ل ى ي م ين ه ع ل ى ي س ار ه و ال ذ ع ل ى ي س ار ه ع ل ى ي م ين ه He asws said: He should take out the pulpit, then go out walking just as he would walk on the day of the two Eids, and in front of him would be the Muezzins, in their hands being their walking sticks, until when he ends up to the praying place, where he would pray two Rak at of Salāt with the people, without an Azan or an Iqamah. Then he would ascend the pulpit, and overturn his cloak, so that he would make that which is upon his right to be upon his left, and that which is upon his left to be upon his right. م ائ ة ت س ب يح ة ر اف عا ب ه ا م ائ ة ت ك ب ير ة ر اف عا ب ه ا ص و ت ه ث م ي ل ت ف ت إ ل ى الن ا س ع ن ي م ين ه ف ي س ب ح للا ث م ي س ت ق ب ل ال ق ب ل ة ف ي ك ب ر للا م ائ ة ت ح م يد ة ث م م ائ ة ت ه ل يل ة ر اف عا ب ه ا ص و ت ه ث م ي س ت ق ب ل الن اس ف ي ح م د للا ص و ت ه ث م ي ل ت ف ت إ ل ى الن اس ع ن ي س ار ه ف ي ه ل ل للا ي ر ف ع ي د ي ه ف ي د ع و ث م ي د ع ون ف ن ي ل ر ج و أ ن ل ي خ يب وا Then he should face the Qiblah, and he would exclaim one hundred Takbīr s, raising his voice with it. The he would turn towards the people on his right, so he would Glorify Allah azwj with one hundred Glorifications raising his voice with it. Then he would turn towards the people on his left, so he would extoll the Oneness of Allah azwj raising his voice with it. Then he would face the people, so he would Praise Allah azwj with one hundred Praises. Then he would raise his hands, and he would supplicate. Then they would be supplicating, so I asws hope that they would not be unsuccessful. 3 out of 49

So when we returned, the rain came, and they said, This is from the teaching of Ja far asws. و ف ي ر و اي ة ي ون س ف م ا ر ج ع ن ا ح ت ى أ ه م ت ن ا أ ن ف س ن ا. And in a report of Yunus, (He (the narrator) said): So we had not returned until we were drenched. 1 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن اب ن أ ب ي ع م ي ر ع ن ه ش ام ب ن ال ح ك م ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ( عليه السالم ) ق ال س أ ل ت ه ع ن ص ال ة م ام و ي ب ر ز إ ل ى م ك ان ن ظ يف ف ي ا ل س ت س ق اء ف ق ال م ث ل ص ال ة ال ع يد ي ن ي ق ر أ ف يه ا و ي ك ب ر ف يه ا ك م ا ي ق ر أ و ي ك ب ر ف يه ا ي خ رج ا ل س ك ين ة و و ق ار و خ ش وع و م س ك ن ة و ي ب ر ز م ع ه الن اس Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hisham Bin Al-Hakam, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws, said, I asked him asws about the Salāt for the rain, so he asws said: Similar to the Salāt of the two Eids. He would recite in it and exclaim Takbīr in it just as he would recite and exclaim Takbīr in those. The prayer leader would come out and go to a clean place in tranquillity, and dignity, and humbleness, and submissiveness, and the people would go out along with him. و ي م ج د ه و ي ث ن ي ع ل ي ه و ي ج ت ه د ف ي الد ع اء و ي ك ث ر م ن الت س ب يح و الت ه ل يل و الت ك ب ير و ي ص ل ي م ث ل ص ال ة ال ع يد ي ن ف ي ح م د للا ر ك ع ت ي ن ف ي د ع اء و م س أ ل ة و اج ت ه اد So he would Prise Allah azwj, and Glorify Him azwj, and Laud upon Him azwj, and strive in the supplication, and frequent from the Glorifications and the Extollations of Oneness, and the exclamations of Takbīr, and he would pray a Salāt similar to the Salāt of the two Eids, being two Rak at in a supplication and asking and striving. م ام ق ل ب ث و ب ه و ج ع ل ال ج ان ب ال ذ ع ل ى ال م ن ك ب ا ل ي م ن ع ل ى ا ل ي س ر و ال ذ ع ل ى ا ل ي س ر ع ل ى ا ل ي م ن ف ن الن ب ي ف ذ ا س ل م ا ل ( صلى للا عليه وآله ) ك ذ ل ص ن ع. So when the prayer leader recites Salām (at the end of Salāt), he would overturn his cloth and make the side which is upon the right shoulder to be upon the left, and that which is upon the left to be upon the right, for the Prophet saww did it like that. 2 م ح م د ب ن ي ح ي ى ر ف ع ه ع ن أ ب ي ع ب د للا ( عليه السالم ) ق ال س أ ل ت ه ع ن ت ح و يل الن ب ي ( صلى للا عليه وآله ) ر د اء ه إ ذ ا اس ت س ق ى ف ق ال ع ال م ة ب ي ن ه و ب ي ن أ ص ح اب ه ي ح و ل ال ج د ب خ ص با. Muhammad Bin Yahya, raising it, (It has been narrated) Abu Abdullah asws, said, I asked him asws about the overturning by the Prophet saww of his saww cloak when he saww (prayed the Salāt for the) rain. And in a report of Ibn Al-Mugheira, He asws said: One would exclaim Takbīr in a Salāt for the rain just as one would exclaim Takbīr in (the Salāt of the) two Eids seven in the first (Rak at), and five in the second (Rak at), and he would pray Salāt before the sermon, and be loud with the recitation, and he would supplicate for the rain while he is seated. 4 Chapter 90 Salāt of the eclipse باب ص ال ة ال ك س وف ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن ع م ر و ب ن ع ث م ان ع ن ع ل ي ب ن ع ب د للا ق ال س م ع ت أ ب ا ال ح س ن م وس ى ( عليه السالم ) ي ق ول إ ن ه ل م ا ق ب ض إ ب ر اه يم ب ن ر س ول للا ( صلى للا عليه وآله ) ج ر ت ف يه ث ال ث س ن ن أ م ا و اح د ة ف ن ه ل م ا م ات ان ك س ف ت الش م س ف ق ا ل الن اس ان ك س ف ت الش م س ل ف ق د اب ن ر س ول للا ( صلى للا عليه وآله ) Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Amro Bin Usman, from Ali Bin Abdullah who said, I heard Abu Al-Hassan Musa asws saying: When Ibrahim as, the son as of Rasool- Allah saww passed away, three Sunnahs flowed regarding it. As for one, so when he as passed away, the sun was eclipsed. So the people said, The sun eclipsed due to the loss of the son as of Rasool-Allah saww. و أ ث ن ى ع ل ي ه ث م ق ال ي ا أ ي ه ا الن اس إ ن الش م س و ال ق م ر آي ت ان م ن ف ص ع د ر س ول للا ( صلى للا عليه وآله ) ال م ن ب ر ف ح م د للا آي ات للا ت ج ر ي ان ب أ م ر ه م ط يع ان ل ه ل ت ن ك س ف ان ل م و ت أ ح د و ل ل ح ي ات ه ف ذ ا ان ك س ف ت ا أ و و اح د ة م ن ه م ا ف ص ل وا ث م ن ز ل ف ص ل ى ب الن اس ص ال ة ال ك س وف. So Rasool-Allah saww ascended the Pulpit, and he saww Praised Allah azwj and Lauded upon Him azwj, then said: O you people! The sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah azwj, both flowing by His azwj Command, Obedient to Him azwj. They do not get eclipsed for the death of anyone, nor for his life. So whenever they both get eclipsed, or one of the two, so pray Salāt. Then he saww descended and prayed Salāt with the people, a Salāt of the eclipse. 5 ع ل ي ع ن أ ب يه و م ح م د ب ن إ س م اع يل ع ن ال ف ض ل ب ن ش اذ ان ج م يعا ع ن ح م اد ب ن ع يس ى ع ن ح ر يز ع ن ز ر ا رة و م ح م د ب ن م س ل م ق ا ل س أ ل ن ا أ ب ا ج ع ف ر ( عليه السالم ) ع ن ص ال ة ال ك س وف ك م ه ي ر ك ع ة و ك ي ف ن ص ل يه ا ف ق ال ع ش ر ر ك ع ات و أ ر ب ع س ج د ات ت ف ت ت ح الص ال ة ب ت ك ب ير ة و ت ر ك ع ب ت ك ب ير ة و ت ر ف ع ر أ س ب ت ك ب ير ة إ ل ف ي ال خ ام س ة ال ت ي ت س ج د ف يه ا و ت ق ول س م ع للا ل م ن ح م د ه و ت ق ن ت ف ي ك ل ر ك ع ت ي ن ق ب ل الر ك وع و ت ط يل ال ق ن وت و الر ك وع ع ل ى ق د ر ال ق ر اء ة و الر ك وع و الس ج و د Ali, from his father and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al-Fazl Bin ShAzaan, altogether from Hammad Bin Isa, from Hareyz, from Zurara and Muhammad Bin Muslim who both said, We asked Abu Ja far asws about the Salāt of the eclipse, How many Rak at it is, and how is to be prayed. Ten Rak at and four Sajdahs. should be saying, Allah azwj Hears the one who Praises Him azwj, and you should perform Iqamah in every two Rak at before the Rukū, and you should prolong the Qunoot and the Rukū upon a measurement of the recitation, and the Rukū and the Sajdah. ع ز و ج ل ح ت ى ي ن ج ل ي و إ ن ان ج ل ى ق ب ل أ ن ت ف ر غ م ن ص ال ت ف أ ت م م ا ب ق ي و ت ج ه ر ف ن ف ر غ ت ق ب ل أ ن ي ن ج ل ي ف اق ع د و اد ع للا ب ال ق ر اء ة So if you are free before it clears, be seated and supplicate to Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic until it does clear; and if it clears before you are free from your Salāt, so complete whatever remains and be loud with the recitation. ق ال ق ل ت ك ي ف ال ق ر اء ة ف يه ا ف ق ال إ ن ق ر أ ت س ور ة ف ي ك ل ر ك ع ة ف اق ر أ ف ات ح ة ال ك ت اب و إ ن ن ق ص ت م ن الس ور ة ش ي ئا ف اق ر أ م ن ح ي ث ن ق ص ت و ل ت ق ر أ ف ات ح ة ال ك ت اب He (the narrator) said, I said, How is the recitation in it? Hammad, from Hareyz, from Zurara and Muhammad Bin Muslim who both said, We said to Abu Ja far asws, These (strong) winds and the darkness which occur, should one pray Salāt for it? (It has been narrated) Abu Abdullah asws having said: A time for Salāt of the eclipse among the timing which it eclipses, (be it) at the emergence of the sun, and at its setting. So he asws said: Begin with the Obligatory (Salāt). So it was said to him asws, (Supposing it was) at the time of the night Salāt? From him, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Hammad, from Hareyz, from Zurara and Muhammad Bin Muslim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: When the sun is eclipsed totally and it smoulders, and you did not know, then you came to know after that, so upon you is the fulfilment (of the Salāt missed out); and if all of it did not get eclipsed, so there is no fulfilment (of the Salāt missed out) upon you. و ف ي ر و اي ة أ خ ر ى إ ذ ا ع ل م ب ال ك س وف و ن س ي أ ن ي ص ل ي ف ع ل ي ه ال ق ض اء و إ ن ل م ي ع ل م ب ه ك ل ه. ف ال ق ض اء ع ل ي ه ه ذ ا إ ذ ا ل م ي ح ت ر ق And in another report, (he asws said): When one knows of the eclipse and forgets to pray Salāt, so upon him would be the fulfilment (of the Salāt missed out); and if he did not know of it, so there is no fulfilment (of the Salāt missed out) upon him. Shall I saww confer upon you as, shall I saww give you as, shall I gift you as (something)? So Ja far as said to him saww : Yes, O Rasool- Allah saww! He asws said: So the people thought that he saww would give him as some gold or silver, and the people anticipated for that. ف ق ال ل ه إ ن ي أ ع ط ي ش ي ئا إ ن أ ن ت ص ن ع ت ه ف ي ك ل ي و م ك ان خ ي را ل م ن الد ن ي ا و م ا ف يه ا و إ ن ص ن ع ت ه ب ي ن ي و م ي ن غ ف ر ل م ا ب ي ن ه م ا أ و ك ل ج م ع ة أ و ك ل ش ه ر أ و ك ل س ن ة غ ف ر ل م ا ب ي ن ه م ا So he saww said to him asws : I saww am giving you as something, if you as were to act upon it during every day, it would be better for you as than the world and whatever is in it, and if you as were to do it in between two days, Allah azwj would Forgive for you as whatever (you as committed) what is between the two (days), or every Friday, or every month, or every year, (your as sins) would be Forgive for you as whatever (you as committed) between the two. ت ص ل ي أ ر ب ع ر ك ع ات ت ب ت د ئ ف ت ق ر أ و ت ق ول إ ذ ا ف ر غ ت س بح ان للا و ال ح م د ل ل و ل إ ل ه إ ل للا و للا أ ك ب ر ت ق ول ذ ل خ م س ع ش ر ة م ر ة ب ع د ال ق ر اء ة ف ذ ا ر ك ع ت ق ل ت ه ع ش ر م ر ات ف ذ ا ر ف ع ت ر أ س م ن الر ك وع ق ل ت ه ع ش ر م ر ات ف ذ ا س ج د ت ق ل ت ه ع ش ر م ر ات ف ذ ا ر ف ع ت ر أ س م ن الس ج ود ف ق ل ب ي ن الس ج د ت ي ن ع ش ر م ر ات ف ذ ا س ج د ت الث ان ي ة ف ق ل ع ش ر م ر ات ف ذ ا ر ف ع ت ر أ س م ن الس ج د ة الث ان ي ة ق ل ت ع ش ر م ر ات و أ ن ت ق اع د ق ب ل أ ن ت ق و م You as should pray four Rak at. You as should begin reciting and you as should be saying, when you as are free: Glory be to Allah azwj, and the Praise is for Allah azwj, and there is no god except for Allah azwj, and Allah azwj is the Greatest. You should say that fifteen times after the recitation. So when you as go down into Rukū say it ten times. So when you as raise your as head from the Rukū, say it ten times. So when you as perform Sajdah, say it ten times. So when you as raise your as head from the Sajdah, say it ten times between the two Sajdahs. So when you as perform Sajdah the second (Sajdah) say it ten times. So when you as raise your as head from the second Sajdah say it ten times, while you as are seated, before you as stand. ف ذ ل خ م س و س ب ع ون ت س ب يح ة ف ي ك ل ر ك ع ة ث ال ث م ائ ة ت س ب يح ة ف ي أ ر ب ع ر ك ع ات أ ل ف و م ائ ت ا ت س ب يح ة و ت ه ل يل ة و ت ك ب ير ة و ت ح م يد ة إ ن ش ئ ت ص ل ي ت ه ا ب الن ه ار و إ ن ش ئ ت ص ل ي ت ه ا ب الل ي ل. So that would be seventy-five Glorifications during every Rak at, being three hundred Glorification in four Rak at. In four (Rak at) there would be one thousand two hundred Glorifications, and Extollations of Oneness, and exclamations of Takbīr s, and Praises. If you as so desire to, pray it during the day, and if you as so desire to, pray it at night. 8 out of 49

And in a report of Ibrahim Bin Abdul Hameed, (It has been narrated) from Abu Al-Hassan asws (having said): You should recite in the first (Rak at) [99:1] When the earth is shaken (Chapter 99), and in the second (Rak at) [100:1] I swear by the runners (Chapter 100), and in the third (Rak at) [110:1] When there comes the help of Allah (Chapter 110), and in the fourth (Rak at) [112:1] Say He Allah is One (Chapter 112). I said, So what are its Rewards? He asws said: If there were upon him sin like the grains of sand, Allah azwj would Forgive them for him. And in a report (It has been narrated) from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Yahya Bin Imran Al-Halby, from Zareeh, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: You can pray it (Salāt of Ja far as ) at night, and you can pray it during the journey at night and the day, and if you so desire to, so hasten it from your optional (Salāts). 13 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن م ح س ن ب ن أ ح م د ع ن أ ب ان ق ال س م ع ت أ ب ا ع ب د للا ( عليه السالم ) ي ق ول م ن ك ان م س ت ع ج ال ي ص ل ي ص ال ة ج ع ف ر م ج ر د ة ث م ي ق ض ي الت س ب يح و ه و ذ اه ب ف ي ح و ائ ج ه. Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Muhassin Bin Ahmad, from Aban who said, I heard Abu Abdullah asws saying: The one who was in a hurry, can pray the Salāt of Ja far as in brief, then he can fulfil the Glorifications while he is going regarding his needs. 14 أ ح م د ب ن إ د ر يس ع ن م ح م د ب ن أ ح م د ع ن ع ل ي ب ن س ل ي م ان ق ال ك ت ب ت إ ل ىالر ج ل ( عليه السالم ) م ا ت ق ول ف ي ص ال ة الت س ب ي ح ف ي ال م ح م ل ف ك ت ب ( عليه السالم ) إ ذ ا ك ن ت م س اف را ف ص ل. Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad, from Ali Bin Suleyman who said, I wrote to the man asws, What are you asws saying regarding the Salāt of the Glorification (prayed) in the carriage? Ali Bin Muhammad, from one of our companions, from Ibn Mahboub, raising it, said, He asws said: You should be saying in the last Rak at from the Salāt of Ja far as, O One Who is Clothed in Honour and Dignity! O One Who Grants with the Glory and is Prestiged with it! O One Who, the Glorification is not befitting except for Him azwj! O One Who Reckons everything in His azwj Knowledge! O One with the Bounties and the Abundance! O One with the Favours and the Grace! O One with the Power and the Benevolence! So I said, Yes. So he asws said: When you were in the last Sajdah from the fourth Rak at, say when you are free from your Glorification, Glorious is the One Who is Clothed in Honour and the Dignity! Glorious is the One Who Gives with the Glory and is Prestiged with it! Glorious is the One, the Glorification not being befitting for anyone except for Him azwj! Glorious is the One Who Reckons everything in His azwj Knowledge! Glorious is the One with the Favours, and the Bounties! I said to Abu Abdullah asws, The one who prays a Salāt, the Salāt of Ja far as, Allah azwj would Write for him, from the Recompense, the like of what Rasool-Allah saww said to Ja far asws? A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Muhammad Bin Kurdous, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: The one who cleans himself, then lies down upon his bed overnight, his bed is like his Masjid. So if he was to stand at night and mention Allah azwj, his sins would scatter away from him. So if he was to stand at the end of the night, and cleans himself and prays two Rak at of Salāt, and Praises Allah azwj and Lauds upon Him azwj, and sends Blessings upon the Prophet saww, would not ask Allah azwj for anything, except that He azwj would Grant it. Either He azwj would Grant it what which he had asked for, exactly, or He azwj would Treasure it for him what is better for him than it. 23 ع ل ي ب ن م ح م د ب س ن اد ه ع ن ب ع ض ه م ( عليهم السالم ) ف ي ق و ل للا ع ز و ج ل إ ن ناش ئ ة الل ي ل ه ي أ ش د و ط ئا و أ ق و م ق يال ق ا ل ه ي ر ك ع ت ان ب ع د ال م غ ر ب ت ق ر أ ف ي أ و ل ر ك ع ة ب ف ات ح ة ال ك ت اب و ع ش ر م ن أ و ل ال ب ق ر ة و آي ة الس خ ر ة و م ن ق و ل ه و إ له ك م إ ل ه واح د ل إ له إ ل ه و الر ح من الر ح يم. إ ن ف ي خ ل ق الس ماوات و ا ل ر ض إ ل ى ق و ل ه ل يات ل ق و م ي ع ق ل و ن و خ م س ع ش رة م ر ة ق ل ه و للا أ ح د Ali Bin Muhammad, by his chain, (It has been narrated) from one of them asws regarding the Words of Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic [73:6] Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best speech. He asws said: These are the two Rak at of Salāt after Al-Maghrib. You should recite in the first Rak at with the Opening of the Book (Chapter 1), and then (Verses) from the beginning of (Surah) Al-Baqarah, and Al-Sakhra Verse (Ch 7:54), and from His azwj Words [2:163] And your God is one God! There is no god but He; He is the Beneficent, the Merciful [2:164] Surely in the Creation of the skies and the earth up to His azwj Words - there are signs for a people who understand, And fifteen times [112:1] Say He Allah is One (Chapter 112). و ف ي الر ك ع ة الث ان ي ة ف ات ح ة ال ك ت اب و آي ة ال ك ر س ي و آخ ر ال ب ق ر ة م ن ق و ل ه ل ل ما ف ي الس ماوات و ما ف ي ا ل ر ض إ ل ى أ ن ت خ ت م الس ور ة و خ م س ع ش ر ة م ر ة ق ل ه و للا أ ح د ث م اد ع ب ع د ه ذ ا ب م ا ش ئ ت And in the second Rak at, Opening of the Book (Chapter 1), and the Verse of the Throne (Ch 2:255), and the end part of (Surah) Al-Baqarah, from His azwj Words [2:284] Whatever is in the skies and whatever is in the earth is for Allah up to the end of the Chapter, and fifteen times [112:1] Say He Allah is One (Chapter 112). I am needy to You azwj, and I seek Refuge with You azwj, and fearful from You azwj, and Sanctuary with You azwj. Lord azwj! Do not Change my name. Lord azwj! Do not Change my body. Lord azwj! Do not Overload my afflictions. I seek Refuge with Your azwj Pardon; and I seek Refuge with Your azwj Pleasure from Your azwj Wrath; and I seek Refuge with Your azwj Mercy from Your azwj Punishment; and I seek Refuge with You azwj from You azwj. Masjestic is Your azwj Praise. He (the narrator) said, Abu Abdullah asws said: On the day of the twenty seventh of Rajab, Rasool-Allah saww gave the news during it: The one who prays a Salāt of twelve Rak at during it, whichever time he so desires to, reciting in each Rak at with the Mother of the Book (Chapter 1) and a Chapter what is easy, so when he is free and Salām, sits in his place, then recites the Mother of the Quran (Chapter 1) four times, and Al-Mawizat (Chapters 112, 113 & 114), each one four times, so when he is free and he is in his place, says, There is no god except for Allah azwj, and Allah azwj is the Greatest, and the Praise is for Allah azwj, and Glorious is Allah azwj, and there is neither a Might nor Strength except with Allah azwj, four times, then he is saying, Allah azwj! Allah azwj is my Lord azwj. Chapter 93 Salāt of Istikhara (Seeking Allahs zwj s Choice) باب ص ال ة ا ل س ت خ ار ة م ح م د ب ن ي ح ي ى ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح م د ع ن م ح م د ب ن خ ال د ع ن الن ض ر ب ن س و ي د ع ن ي ح ي ى ال ح ل ب ي ع ن ع م ر و ب ن ح ر ي ث ق ا ل م س ل م إ ل خ ار ل ه ال ب ت ة. ف و للا م ا اس ت خ ار للا ق ال أ ب و ع ب د للا ( عليه السالم ) ص ل ر ك ع ت ي ن و اس ت خ ر للا Muhammad Bin yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Al-Nazar Bin Suweyd, from Yahya Al-Halby, from Amro Bin Hureys who said, Abu Abdullah asws said: Pray a Salāt of two Rak at, and leave the choice to Allah azwj, so by Allah azwj, Allah azwj will not Choose for a Muslim except what is better for him, always. 26 ع ل ي ب ن إ ب ر اه يم ع ن أ ب يه ع ن ع ث م ان ب ن ع يس ى ع ن ع م ر و ب ن ش م ر ع ن ج اب ر ع ن أ ب ي ج ع ف ر ( عليه السالم ) ق ال ك ان ع ل ي ب ن ال ح س ي ن ( صلوات للا عليه ) إ ذ ا ه م ب أ م ر ح ج أ و ع م ر ة أ و ب ي ع أ و ش ر اء أ و ع ت ق ت ط ه ر ث م ص ل ى ر كع ت ي ا ل س ت خ ار ة ف ق ر أ ف يه م ا ب س ور ة ال ح ش ر و ب س ور ة الر ح م ن ث م ي ق ر أ ال م ع و ذ ت ي ن و ق ل ه و للا أ ح د إ ذ ا ف ر غ و ه و ج ال س ف ي د ب ر الر ك ع ت ي ن Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Usman Bin Isa, from Amro Bin Shimr, from Jabir, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja far asws having said: It was so that whenever Ali asws Bin Al-Husayn asws thought of the matter of a Hajj, or an Umra, or selling, or buying, or emancipating (a slave), would clean himself asws, then pray two Rak at of Salāt of Al-Istikhara. So he asws would recite in these two with Surah Al-Hashr (Chapter 59) and Surah Al-Rahmaan (Chapter 55). Then he asws recite the Mawazatayn (Chapter 113 & 114) and [112:1] Say He Allah is One (Chapter 112) when he asws was free, and he asws was seated at the end of the two Rak at. ث م ي ق ول الل ه م إ ن ك ان ك ذ ا و ك ذ ا خ ي را ل ي ف ي د ين ي و د ن ي ا و ع اج ل أ م ر و آج ل ه ف ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه و ي س ر ه ل ي ع ل ى أ ح س ن ال و ج وه و أ ج م ل ه ا الل ه م و إ ن ك ان ك ذ ا و ك ذ ا ش را ل ي ف ي د ين ي و د ن ي ا و آخ ر ت ي و ع اج ل أ م ر و آج ل ه ف ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه و اص ر ف ه ع ن ي ر ب ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل ه و اع ز م ل ي ع ل ى ر ش د و إ ن ك ر ه ت ذ ل أ و أ ب ت ه ن ف س ي. Then he asws was saying: O Allah azwj! If it was so that such and such was better for me asws in my asws Religion, and my asws world, and the immediacy of my asws matters and it s later, so Send Blessings upon Muhammad asws and his saww Progeny asws, Make it easy for me to be upon the best of its aspects and its beauties. And if it was so that it was evil for me asws, in my asws Religion, and my asws world, and my asws Hereafter, and the immediacy of my matter and its later, so Send Blessings upon Muhammad saww and his saww Progeny asws, and Exchange it from me asws. Lord azwj! Someone else, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al-Basry, from Al-Qasim Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hashimy, from Haroun Bin Kharjat, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah asws having said: Whenever you intend a matter, so take six papers and write in three of them In the Name of Allah azwj the Beneficent, the Merciful. Goodness is from Allah azwj the Mighty, the Wise, for so and so. Do it ; and in three of them (write), In the Name of Allah azwj the Beneficent, the Merciful. Goodness is from Allah azwj the Mighty, the Wise, for so and so. Do not do. ب ر ح م ت ه خ ي ر ة ف ي ع اف ي ة ث م ض ع ه ا ت ح ت م ص ال ث م ص ل ر ك ع ت ي ن ف ذ ا ف ر غ ت ف اس ج د س ج د ة و ق ل ف يه ا م ائ ة م ر ة أ س ت خ ير للا ث م اس ت و ج ال سا و ق ل الل ه م خ ر ل ي و اخ ت ر ل ي ف ي ج م يع أ م ور ف ي ي س ر م ن و ع اف ي ة Then place these beneath your prayer mat, then pray two Rak at of Salāt. So when you are free, perform a Sajdah, and say one hundred times, I leave the choice to Allah azwj to Choose by His azwj Mercy, good in safety. Then sit straight and say, O Allah azwj! Pick for me and Choose for me in the entirety of my affairs in ease from You azwj and safety. ث م اض ر ب ب ي د إ ل ى الر ق اع ف ش و ش ه ا و أ خ ر ج و اح د ة ف ن خ ر ج ث ال ث م ت و ال ي ات اف ع ل ف اف ع ل ا ل م ر ال ذ ت ر يد ه و إ ن خ ر ج ث ال ث م ت و ال ي ات ل ت ف ع ل ف ال ت ف ع ل ه و إ ن خ ر ج ت و اح د ة اف ع ل و ا ل خ ر ى ل ت ف ع ل ف أ خ ر ج م ن الر ق اع إ ل ى خ م س ف ان ظ ر أ ك ث ر ه ا ف اع م ل ب ه و د ع الس اد س ة ل ت ح ت اج إ ل ي ه ا. Then strike with your hand to the papers, and jumble them up, and extract one. So if the do it comes up three times consecutively, so do the matter which you intended to; and if don t do comes up three times consecutively, so do not do it; and if one do it comes up and the other two are don t do, then extract from the papers up to five, and look at the majority of it and act upon it, and leave the sixth, as you are not needy to it. 28 م ح م د ب ن ي ح ي ى ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح م د ع ن اب ن ف ض ال ق ال س أ ل ال ح س ن ب ن ال ج ه م أ ب ا ال ح س ن ( عليه السالم ) ل ب ن أ س ب اط ف ق ا ل م ا ت ر ى ل ه و اب ن أ س ب اط ح اض ر و ن ح ن ج م يعا ي ر ك ب ال ب ر أ و ال ب ح ر إ ل ى م ص ر ف أ خ ب ر ه ب خ ي ر ط ر يق ال ب ر ف ق ال ال ب ر و ائ ت م ائ ة م ر ة ث م ان ظ ر أ ش يء ي ق ع ف ي ق ل ب ف اع م ل ب ه ال م س ج د ف ي غ ي ر و ق ت ص ال ة ال ف ر يض ة ف ص ل ر ك ع ت ي ن و اس ت خ ر للا Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Fazzal who said, Al-Hassan Bin Al-Jahm asked Abu Al-Hassan asws for Ibn Asbaat, so he said, What is your asws view for him, and Ibn Asbaat was present with all of us, if he were to ride the land or (sail) the sea to Egypt, so inform him with the best road by land. So he asws said: The land, and go over to the Masjid (of Rasool-Allah saww ) in other than a time for the Obligatory Salāt. So you should pray two Rak at of Salāt and leave the choice to Allah azwj, one hundred times, then look at which thing occurs in your heart, so act upon it. و ق ال ل ه ال ح س ن ال ب ر أ ح ب إ ل ي ل ه ق ال و إ ل ي. And he asws said to him: And the superiority of the land is more beloved to me asws, for him. So he asws said: Go out by land and it is upon you that you go over to the Masjid of Rasool-Allah saww and pray two Rak at of Salāt therein in a time other than of an Obligatory Salāt. Then you should seek Allah azwj s Choice one hundred and one times, then wait. ف ن ع ز م للا ل ع ل ى ال ب ح ر ف ق ل ال ذ ق ال للا ع ز و ج ل و قال ار ك ب وا ف يها ب س م للا م ج راها و م ر ساها إ ن ر ب ي ل غ ف ور ر ح ي م ف ن اض ط ر ب ب ال ب ح ر ف ات ع ل ى ج ان ب ا ل ي م ن و ق ل ب س م للا اس ك ن ب س ك ين ة للا و ق ر ب و ق ار للا و اه د أ ب ذ ن للا و ل ح و ل و ل ق و ة إ ل ب ا ل ل So if Allah azwj has Determined for you (to travel) upon the sea, so say [11:41] And he said: Embark in it, in the Name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring; surely my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful. So if the sea is restless with you, so lean upon your right side and say, In the Name of Allah azwj, Settle with the Tranquillity of Allah azwj, and be dignified with the Dignity of Allah azwj, and calm down by the Permission of Allah azwj. And there is neither a Might nor Strength except with Allah azwj. ق ل ن ا أ ص ل ح للا م ا الس ك ين ة ر يح ت خ ر ج م ن ال ج ن ة ل ه ا ص ور ة ك ص ور ة ا ل ف أ ق ب ل ت ت د ور ح و ل أ ر ك ان ال ب ي ت و ه و ي ض ع ا ل س اط ين ن س ان و ر ائ ح ة ط ي ب ة و ه ي ال ت ي نز ل ت ع ل ى إ ب ر اه ي م We said, May Allah azwj Keep you asws well! What is the tranquillity? (He asws said): It is a wind which comes out from the Paradise. For it is an image like an image of the human being, and an aromatic fragrance, and it is which descended upon Ibrahim as. So he asws said: So what are your boxes? We said, The weapons. He asws said: You speak the truth. These are your boxes, and if you were to go out in the land, so say that which Allah azwj Mighty and Majestic has Said: [43:13] Glory be to Him Who Made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it [43:14] And surely to our Lord we must return, for there is none from a servant who says it during his embarkation, so he would fall from a camel or an animal, so anything would hit him by the Permission of Allah azwj. ث م ق ال ف ذ ا خ ر ج ت م ن م ن ز ل ف ق ل ب س م للا آم ن ت ب ا ل ل ت و ك ل ت ع ل ى للا ل ح و ل و ل ق و ة إ ل ب ا ل ل ف ن ال م ال ئ ك ة ت ض ر ب و ج و ه و آم ن ب ا ل ل و ت و ك ل ع ل ى للا و ق ال ل ح و ل و ل ق و ة إ ل ب ا ل ل. الش ي اط ين و ي ق ول ون ق د س م ى للا Then he asws said: So when you go out from your house, so say, In the Name of Allah azwj. I believe in Allah azwj. I rely upon Allah azwj. There is neither a Might or Strength except with Allah azwj, so the Angels would strike the faces of the devils and they would be saying: He has Named Allah azwj, and believed in Allah azwj, and relied upon Allah azwj, and said There is neither a Mighty nor Strength except with Allah azwj. 30 م ح م د ب ن ي ح ي ى ع ن أ ح م د ب ن م ح م د ع ن ع ل ي ب ن ح د يد ع ن م ر از م ق ال ق ال ل ي أ ب و ع ب د للا ( عليه السالم ) إ ذ ا أ ر اد أ ح د ك م و ل ي ث ن ع ل ي ه و ل ي ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و أ ه ل ب ي ت ه و ي ق ول الل ه م إ ن ك ان ه ذ ا ا ل م ر خ ي را ل ي ف ي ش ي ئا ف ل ي ص ل ر ك ع ت ي ن ث م ل ي ح م د للا د ين ي و د ن ي ا ف ي س ر ه ل ي و اق د ر ه و إ ن ك ان غ ي ر ذ ل ف اص ر ف ه ع ن ي Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Hadeed, from Murazam who said, Abu Abdullah asws said to me: Whenever one of you intends something, so let him pray two Rak at of Salāt, then let him Praise Allah azwj and let him Laud upon Him azwj, and let him send Blessings upon Muhammad saww and the People asws of his saww Household, and he should be saying, O Allah azwj! If this matter was good for me in my Religion, and my world, so Make it easier for me; and if it was other than that, so Exchange it from me. ف س أ ل ت ه أ ش ي ء أ ق ر أ ف يه م ا ف ق ال اق ر أ ف يه م ا م ا ش ئ ت و إ ن ش ئ ت ق ر أ ت ف يه م ا ق ل ه و للا أ ح د و ق ل ي ا أ ي ه ا ال ك اف ر ون. So I asked him asws, Which thing should I recite in these two? So he asws said: Recite in these two whatever you so desire to, and if you so desire to, recite in these two [112:1] Say He Allah is One (Chapter 112) and [109:1] Say: O you unbelievers!
