Document 2 2012 Safer Roads Ottawa Workplan The 2012 Safer Roads Ottawa (SROP) implementation plan includes: The production of a video to help launch the new SROP; The delivery of an annual year-long campaign-based Selective Traffic Enforcement (STEP); The delivery of a major campaign on distracted driving with a focus on non-intersection single vehicle collisions; The delivery of a major campaign on aggressive driving with a focus on right angle collisions; The continued enhancement of community-based and the City s involvement in these clinics; The exploration of a pedestrian and/or cycling diversion program wherein training would be an alternative to paying traffic tickets for specific violations; Exploring/reviewing the feasibility of a by-law to provide for a one metre buffer zone between bicycles and motor vehicles, and, Exploring/reviewing the feasibility of a by-law to provide for a one metre buffer zone between motorcycles and other motor vehicles.
