Loveland Middle School Weekly Update 12/20/2017 HAVE A FABULOUS WINTER BREAK! See you Wednesday, January 3rd! ATHLETIC BOOSTERS - TIGER BALL You are invited to attend the Tiger Ball on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Oasis Conference Center. Please check out the link below. The Loveland Athletic Boosters would love your support. http://tigerball18.auction-bid.org ATTENTION ANY STUDENT INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS PROGRAM (CCP): Some universities are requiring either an ACT/SAT test while others require just a placement test to participate in their CCP program. When researching which school you plan to apply to, be sure to double check which test they require for admittance. For schools requiring the ACT/SAT test, it is recommended that the test be taken before March, in order to meet university application deadlines. LHS is offering an ACT test on February 10th and the deadline to register for that test is January 12, 2018. Please visit act.org to register. Questions, see your school counselor and please plan to attend the LHS CCP information session February 28, 2018 at 6 pm in the LHS auditorium. During this information session most all universities will have a representative in attendance. NEW ATTENDANCE POLICY Here is the link so you can review the district s new attendance policy: http://www.lovelandschools.org/protected/articleview.aspx?iid=502yii&dasi=3iu2 Attention Parents/Guardians:

Winter Break would be a great time to refill or resupply your student's supply stash. Many students could use new binders, pens/pencils, glue sticks, more loose leaf paper or note cards, etc. Students will then begin the new year with a fresh start! STUDENT ABSENCES/TARDIES As cold and flu season approaches, please remember to report your student's absence on our attendance line by 10:00 AM 513-697-3602. This is the direct line to the attendance secretary. SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS SPELLING BEE: We will be conducting the annual Spelling Bee when we return from the winter break in January. Participation is optional. The initial written test will be conducted during Tiger Time. The top spellers from that test will be invited to participate in the formal Spelling Bee in the auditorium shortly thereafter. Please see the attached list of words to study in preparation for the test. CHROMEBOOKS: All daily loaners that have not been returned by Winter Break will be locked and unusable until returned. Thank you! Tiger Tech Crew ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENTS LMS TENNIS: Attention any 7th or 8th grade boys planning to play tennis this spring for LMS, please see Mr. Sharpless in room 48 to get a flyer about winter sessions at Harpers Point.
