RULES AND REGULATIONS* The following RULES AND REGULATIONS are a guide to help familiarize you with the policies of Desert Crest Country Club. The clubhouse & shuffleboard area is a smoke free environment. OFFICE HOURS Business Office hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is closed on all holidays and weekends. ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE CHANGES Please notify the office of any new and/or changes in address or telephone number so we may keep our membership database up to date. WHY BADGES? Keeping our amenities secure benefits all members. The staff cannot know who all of the members are, and transients and a few suspended club members occasionally try to use the amenities. Please help the staff by always wearing your membership badge while you re in any of the amenities this includes the clubhouse, golf course, pools and shuffleboard areas. A blue membership badge entitles you to all recreation facilities. MEMBER BADGES Each member is entitled to a maximum of 4 badges, two (2) blue member badges and two (2) red guest badges for married couples, or one (1) blue member badge and three (3) red guest badges for single unmarried owners. The initial cost of the badges is included in your initiation fee. The badges are the property of Desert Crest Country Club and must be returned on demand or when you terminate your membership. There will be a $10.00 charge for replacement or lost badges. The primary club members (deeded owners) are the only ones that may request replacement badges GUEST S BADGES A red guest badge entitles the guest use of all recreational facilities, with the exception of golf. RESIDENTS OF THE ADJACENT SUB DIVISION WHO ARE SUSPENDED FROM THE COUNTRY CLUB MAY NOT USE YOUR RED GUEST BADGES. ADDITIONAL GUESTS If married members have more than two (2) guests or a single unmarried member has more than three guests, eight (8) years or older that want to use the amenities, they must buy a colored wristband from the office or the pool man each day. The guest fee is three dollar $3.00 per person per day. Under 14 years old is $2.00. Extra guest fees are in addition to any other fees. 3
RENTER S BADGES Any one renting a mobile home in the adjacent subdivision may register at the office and qualify for a renter s badge, if the owner of the property is in good standing, additionally, Renters will be issued two YELLOW renters badges. Renters may not use the owner s Red guest s badges. Renters qualify for the same privileges as owners. Members, Guests and Renters are required to wear their badges when in the Clubhouse and/or any of the recreational areas. You will be asked to leave if you do not have your badge. Illegal use of member s guest badges by a non-member (suspended member or others) will result in immediate suspension of all country club privileges for the Member. BADGE IDENTIFICATION The Blue badge is for deeded owners of property in the sub-division who are in good standing with Club. The Red badge is for guests of owners of deeded property in the sub-division who are in good standing with Club. The Yellow badge along with the Photo I. D. badge is for renters of property in the sub-division whose owners are in good standing with Club. DRESS CODE We ask when you and your guest or renters are in the clubhouse please, no swimming suits, always wear a shirt buttoned up and shoes are required. Always wear your badge. MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT (Country Club Dues) Dues are payable in advance. You, as a Country Club member may select various payment options, which from time to time, are offered by the Club. Your annual Dues may be prorated in 12 equal monthly payments. Monthly invoices are not mailed to members. It is the Member s responsibility to keep their Dues account current. All members will receive a notification of any change in the amount of Dues during the month of October of each year, which will state the Maintenance assessment (Dues) for the following 12 months. (The dues fiscal year runs from November 1 st through October 31 st ). DUE DATE Monthly Dues become due on the first of each month. Those payments not received by the 10 th of the month are considered past due. If the account is not paid in full by the end of the month, the account will be subject to a late charge of $10.00 per month. DELINQUENCY & SUSPENSION Any Dues account which is delinquent more than 45 days will receive one (1) written reminder. If the Member takes no action by the 60 th day of their delinquency they will receive a written notice of suspension, giving them, the Club Member, 15 calendar days to be heard on this matter and to bring the account current (including late charges and interest) or lose all Country Club privileges and surrender their Membership and guest badges. If the account remains delinquent at the end of the 15-day grace period the Country Club will turn the account over for collection pursuant to Article 6.5 of the CC&R s. 4
See New Collection Policy (as of December 1, 2002) COLLECTION POLICY See Due Date and Delinquency & Suspension paragraphs. Private use of the Clubhouse may be requested by a club member, but must be preapproved by the office. There may be certain fee s associated with the clubhouse use. WARNING NO LIFE GUARDS ON DUTY SWIMMING POOL, SPA RULES Only Desert Crest Country Club members, their guests or renters are allowed the use of the pool/spas. The pool area and shower rooms are open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily (except Christmas days and New Year s Day when they will be opened for eight (8) hours possibly from 9:30a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Everyone must shower before using pool/spas. Use of non-waterproof oil or suntan lotion is prohibited when using pools. No running, shouting, playing ball or "horseplay" on the pool area deck. Water Volley ball is available during certain hours. No food on poolside deck. No glass containers allowed. No diving or jumping into pool, except in the deep end of the large pool. Avoid use of hairpins or bobby pins in pool/spa area. Badges must be worn in the pool. People without badges or refusing to display those badges will be asked to leave. Be courteous of fellow club members and refrain from lewd behavior or foul language while in the recreational areas. AGE RESTRICTIONS IN POOLS Fourteen (14) years of age or younger allowed in pool area only during children s hours. Eighteen (18) or under only allowed in the pool/spa area when accompanied and supervised by an adult member, guest or renter of the club. No one under fourteen (14) years of age allowed in hot tubs or exercise room at any time. No infants under two (2) years allowed in any pools at any time. 5
CHILDREN S POOL AREA HOURS Children under fourteen (14) may use the pools only at a designated time with supervision by an adult member, guest or renter of the Club. Children hours are as follows: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Water Volleyball is available during children s hours. Ask the pool man for the equipment. Pools are closed Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for cleaning. EXERCISE ROOM Club members, guests and renters are invited to use the exercise room and the equipment therein at their own risk. Please read and follow the instruction on the equipment, if you damage the equipment you will be charged for its repair. The Club waives any and all responsibly for any personal injury you may incur while using the equipment, we strongly urge you to check with your Doctor before you start any exercise program. By using any of the exercise equipment you agree to release the Country Club, it s officers and employees from any and all claims for personal injury or property damage you may suffer. LOCKERS Lockers are available to members only on a first come first serve basis. The lockers are the property of the country club. Use of the lockers is at your own risk. By using the locker you agree to release the Country Club, it s officers, directors and employees from any and all claims for lost or stolen property you otherwise would have. DISCLAIMER Desert Crest Country Club is not responsible for lost or stolen items in and around the pool area, shower rooms, and the clubhouse. If you misplace or lose any valuables or your membership badge, check with the front office or the self-service lost and found in the exercise room. The Club also cannot be held responsible for protecting individual sensibilities. Should another member or guest offend you please alert the offending person to that fact immediately. The club may intervene only after you, personally, have requested them to stop. GOLF COURSE RULES Please observe the ETIQUETTE of the game of golf. Club members have priority over guests and the general public on their first round only. All golfers must check in with the starter. All golfers must wear appropriate golfing attire per USGA rules. Members are responsible for their guests. Club members & renters are allowed only 18 holes per day (unless the course is available and the starter authorizes additional play. You are REQUIRED to replace turf after taking a divot. All golfers are to use golf Tee s. 6
Do not damage the greens by wearing narrow heeled shoes. Minimum width of heel 1-3/4 inches. No bare feet or thongs. Do not walk on or across any green unnecessarily. Each player must have at least two clubs. One must be a putter. When course is crowded, no more than one ball per player may be played. No more than a foursome may play in a group. Children under 9 years of age are not allowed on the course under any conditions, at any time. Stay out of the lakes. Every golfer must start on number one Tee unless directed otherwise by the starter. All players must hit from inside the tee marker. The above rules must be observed. Players not following these and any other Desert Crest Country Club Rules will be asked to leave the course. Golf course is closed to the public in season during the following days and hours: Tuesday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Desert Crest Country Club Ladies Golf Wednesday 7:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. Mixed Doubles Friday 7:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. Desert Crest Country Club Men s Golf GREEN FEES FOR GUESTS (2009-20107) 9 Holes $ 15.00 18 Holes $ 20.00 CART RULES Carts are to be driven on designated cart paths. Approach your ball by using the ninety-degree angle rule. Do NOT drive or park carts closer than 20 feet from the greens or on the tee pads. 7
GOLF IDENTIFICATION Members must wear Club membership badge and have a photo ID when playing golf, guest and others must have a greens fee receipt from the starter for that day. Renters must wear their photo I.D. golf badges when playing golf. THE CLUBHOUSE & SHUFFLEBOARD AREA IS A SMOKE FREE ENVIRONMENT The Game Room and the Library are open from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily (except Thanksgiving day and Christmas Day when they will be opened for eight (8) hours only possibly from 9:30a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). The club member or renter must accompany any one under eighteen (18) years of age. Do not sit on pool and Ping-Pong tables. Use the bridge and keep one foot on the floor. There is a two (2) game limit if someone is waiting to play. Players are liable for damage to equipment. Members, you are responsible for guests. No strollers, scooters or skateboards allowed at any time. SHUFFLEBOARD RULES No one under eighteen (18) years of age is permitted to use the courts without adequate adult supervision. Shuffleboard courts are open to all members, their guests and renters. Please do not abuse the court, disc or cues. You must wear approved footwear. Please do not walk on the court. AMENITIES Desert Crest Country Club, Inc. owns the golf course, commercial building, and parking lot at the golf Course. The golf course is open to the public at certain times; all play is either by Golf club membership and/or green fees. The Clubhouse and all of the various amenities in and around the clubhouse are owned by the Country Club. These amenities are for the use and enjoyment of Country Club members, Renters and their guests only. The Clubhouse is available for any Country Club member or group of members on an occasional basis by reservation only (a badge is required to use the amenities). Desert Crest Country Club also owns all vacant property West of the adjacent subdivision to Long Canyon, all vacant property North of the adjacent subdivision to 16th Ave and a large portion of the vacant property West of the adjacent subdivision. If you should experience any problems and/or have any constructive criticism with the afore mentioned items, please contact the General Manager at 329-8711 8
COURTESY Please be polite and courteous when you are using the Club facilities. Abusive, threatening or intimidating language or behavior toward Club staff, other members or their guests or club employees is not allowed. Anyone indulging in this kind of behavior will be suspended. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION The Country Club may require it s guests, members and others to sign appropriate releases as a condition of using all or any portion of the Country Club facilities. * (These rules and regulation become effective when the new CC&R s are passed by the general Membership, until such time the existing published rulebook is the guide). 9
