SHOW ENTRIES The Nebraska State Fair will be accepting online entries ONLY for Western Dressage Schooling Show. Go the State Fair website, www.statefair.org. Click on the Get Involved tab, Equine and scroll down until you find Western Dressage Schooling Show. ENTRIES DUE BY AUGUST 10 TH. Late entries fee of $50 per exhibitor will apply for all entries postmarked after AUGUST 10 th.
PARKING *Parking inside the fairgrounds requires a permit to enter. This permit must be requested on the entry form or may be purchased at the Equine Check-In Trailer (which is located on the East side of the grounds off Stuhr Road) and is for the sole use of the exhibitor. All vehicles must have an exhibitor parking permit affixed to the driver s side on the front windshield. Parking permits are $15.00 for exhibitors and are good for the entire run of the fair. All trucks and trailers will be required to park in the designated areas. DAY PARKING FOR WESTERN DRESSAFE SCHOOLING SHOW will park behind (NORTH SIDE) of the THOMPSON FOODS OPEN AIR ARENA. Fair Management assumes no obligation or liability for any theft or damage that may occur to the vehicle or its contents. DOG POLICY Due to requirements of the liability insurance carrier and policy of all major livestock shows, NO dogs are allowed on the Nebraska State Fairgrounds, in parking lots or in buildings other than those for direct competition or service animals. All dogs must be on a leash. There shall be no loose or unattended dogs on the fairgrounds. No dogs will be permitted in the animal barns, in tie outs or on the Midway, except during authorized events and sanctioned dog shows. Dogs entered in Nebraska State Fair special performances or competitive events will be allowed on grounds or in buildings during performance or competition only. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS *All horses being exhibited at the 2018 Nebraska State Fair must meet all of the equine health requirements, which are found at the following link: 2018 Equine and Equine Livestock Health Requirements. FEED AND BEDDING All feed and bedding needs will be handled by Mid Nebraska Feeds, which is the local Purina dealer. Hay, bedding and/or feed will be available. You can pre-order feed and bedding by contacting them at 308-382-3048. NDA Required Equipment: 1. Simple snaffle bridle mandatory through Second Level (except for Western Dressage classes). 2. English-style saddle mandatory (except for Western Dressage classes). 3. Rider must wear boots or hard soled shows with heels. 4. Humane spurs and a whip no more than 4 feet long allowed. 5. No tie-downs, martingales, side reins, or similar devices are allowed. 6. Rider must wear ASTM/SEI-certified helmet at all times when mounted. 7. Western dressage competitors should refer to USEF Western Dressage equipment guidelines. 8. No memberships are required (for horses or riders) to show unless you are interested in qualifying for WDAA points, NDA year end awards, or qualifying for the NDA schooling show championship (see NDA and WDAA websites for details). ARENAS Show will be held in the THOMPSON FOODS 4H ARENA Small arena (20m X 40m) for Intro, Basic tests. Large arena (20m X 60m) for all other level. Footing is combination of and dirt, dimensions are 205 X 105. Warmup arena provided outdoors. SHOW RESULTS *Scores will be announced and posted after each division. Class winners will be announced and awards presented at the conclusion of the show. *Please check http://www.statefair.org for directions, map of the grounds and results. *NO results will be given over the phone.
