Sensor technology from Endress+Hauser Whether you are measuring sludge, gas or steam, the heart of a pressure transmitter is the sensor itself. From the initial development stage to the production level, sensors have to meet demanding application requirements. But more than just a physical knowledge and understanding are required to be able to develop and produce the most important link to the process. Endress+Hauser has been continuously developing and manufacturing a wide range of pressure measurement and sensor technology for over 20 years. In doing so, we are always in touch with our customers so that we can understand and implement their specific needs. This has resulted in Endress+Hauser s development of capacitive and piezo-resistive pressure sensors with metal and ceramic membranes, each presenting the optimum solution - even in demanding applications. Many of these solutions are unique to the market and demonstrate that we are on the right track with our focus on constant improvement. Silicon sensors Silicon sensors with metal membranes are available for gauge, absolute and differential pressure measurement. As a highperformance solution for high pressure applications up to 10,500 psi, these sensors meet the highest requirements and work reliably across a large temperature range. With its protection for the sensor and cell electronics, the CONTITE sensor offers a unique solution to combat problems with moisture ingress and condensation formation in sanitary/hygienic processes. The measuring element is protected and hermetically sealed between the process membrane and measuring membrane, making 100% resistance to condensate possible. The process membrane is made of Hastelloy C4 and designed to be resistant to build-up. Ceraphire, the unique ceramic sensor Aluminum oxide ceramic is one of the hardest materials in the world and ensures the best material compatibility with the process media. Endress+Hauser capacitive ceramic sensors have membranes up to 30 times thicker than conventional metal diaphragms. Even the smallest deflection results in measuring signals with the highest accuracy. The properties of the ultra-pure ceramic (99.9%) guarantee high resistance to corrosion, low temperature hysteresis and superior overload resistance. Innovation, pure and simple Our 20 years of knowledge and experience in pressure measurement have resulted in the development of the new Ceraphant T, the latest in the long line of innovative Endress+Hauser pressure products. Ceraphant T provides safe measurement and monitoring of absolute and gauge pressure in gases, steam, and liquids. Thanks to its modular adapter system, the pressure switch can be integrated quickly and easily into every process, and is easily cleanable with stainless steel housing (316L) and lasered nameplate. The Ceraphant T is equipped with an illuminated display as standard. The measured values are displayed with the engineering unit. The rotatable housing can be positioned in accordance with your requirements, regardless of how the Ceraphant T is installed. Sure and simple guidance through the setup You are guided directly to the essential menu items either via these push buttons or via a PC (configuration software, ReadWin 2000). Simple, practical, reliable Cerabar T Cerabar T is the ideal solution for measurement tasks requiring a compact pressure transducer with a fixed measuring range. Each instrument can be quickly integrated in the process using either threaded or flush-mounted process connections. For absolute and gauge pressure measurement, the T program offers the rugged ceramic sensor with a measuring range of up to 600 psi or the metal sensor up to 6000 psi. Both versions guarantee safe and accurate measurement in gases, steam and liquids. PMP131 Metal sensors reliable and compact PMP131 with a metal sensor is the perfect choice for high-pressure applications, i. e. in hydraulic systems. Intelligent process pressure measurement The demands made on pressure instruments are increasing more and more: with the Cerabar M pressure transmitter, Endress+Hauser offers a product that is suitable for many applications in a wide range of industries. Cerabar M faces up to every challenge, whether you want to measure gauge or absolute pressure in liquid, steam or gas. The modular design from the process connection to the digital electronics allows for maximum flexibility. Designed to offer high performance at a value price, the Cerabar M is the right solution for sanitary/hygienic applications. The stainless steel housing of Cerabar M is renowned in particular for its chemical stability and hygienic properties. An aluminum housing version is available for more aggressive environments. The compact and light device is available with ingress protection up to IP 68/NEMA 6P. The Cerabar M can be fitted with all common process connections, i.e. small, flush-mounted process connections for use in applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The rugged Ceraphire ceramic sensor withstands high-temperature caustic CIP/SIP processes, and provides excellent long-term stability and years of service. Commissioning takes place via DIP switches and potentiometers for the zero point and span. Hydrostatic pressure sensors meet demanding application requirements Deltapilot S The Deltapilot S is used for measuring hydrostatic level of liquids in the most demanding conditions in both sanitary as well as water/wastewater treatment applications. Smart electronic inserts mounted either in the compact housing or in a remote housing away from the measuring point ensure reliable operation even if the sensor is flooded or undergo frequent high-pressure washdowns at the measuring point. The CONTITE sensor module is specifically designed for hydrostatic level measurement, and the hermetically-sealed sensor prevents condensation or moisture entry. Active temperature compensation ensures quick and accurate recovery after CIP/SIP processes. The transmitter provides information such as level, volume and mass with accuracy up to 0.1% of the set span. With a stainless steel housing and sanitary/hygienic connections for use in food or pharmaceutical industries, as well as a rugged aluminum housing and rod/cable extensions for top-down mounting in water/wastewater treatment plants, Deltapilot S offers a reliable solution for a wide range of applications. Waterpilot Specifically designed for level measurement in deep wells or in lift stations, the Waterpilot is a rugged submersible level transmitter. Certified for drinking water applications, the durable ceramic sensor far exceeds the capability of standard metalmembrane submersible sensors. For example, the integrated HistoROM/ M-DAT data module makes it possible to record, save and readout important process and device parameters. Analysis, simulation and service parameter querying can be carried out at any time at the device or with the Time of Flight software (ToF Tool) using the diagnostic functions of Cerabar S/Deltabar S. Unique operating concept The new 3-key operation allows for simple and reliable commissioning. All settings and transmitter information are accessible without any external device. With the Quick Setup menu, the time and effort required to configure the device is reduced to a minimum so that the user commissions the transmitter quickly and reliably. High temperatures under control The high-temperature version of Cerabar S with the metal membrane allows quick and direct installation at the process connection without the need for an additional diaphragm seal up to 355 F/180 C! As a result, small measuring ranges can be detected with considerably smaller process connections. In addition, the process temperature limits for the ceramic models are now extended to 300 F/150 C continuous temperature. This innovation results in shorter installation times, lower costs and additional safety due to improved performance. Calibration Measuring correctly is the solid foundation for any manufacturer of measuring instrumentation. Those wanting to produce to ISO 9000 standards must be able to rely on dependable calibration equipment for all measuring devices. Endress+Hauser s in-house calibration lab is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. The Calibration Laboratory is responsible for managing the company s test equipment and looks after 7,000 measuring units in use in production, development and service. Devices are calibrated for Endress+Hauser s own use, for clients and for third-party customers. This guarantees that measurements on products can be safely traced back to national calibration standards. The Endress+Hauser calibration laboratory is accredited as a DKD (German Calibration Service) lab (DKD-K 13001) for the measured variables of vacuum and pressure. Test Center The Endress+Hauser Test Center (internationally accredited test center: DATECH, FM, CSA) has three laboratories for device safety, application technology and electromagnetic compatibility. The various test units make it possible to ensure and improve the reliability and quality of Endress+Hauser devices under realistic test conditions. In addition, the devices for new applications can be tested in parallel with development. In the various durability tests, devices under test are exposed to extreme conditions simulating real applications. These include dust tests (explosion protection), abrasion and friction tests, climate tests (heat and cold), mechanical load tests and water spray leak tests. In addition to a fully automated tank test plant with a capacity of 1600 gallons, used to simulate the most difficult applications, the Endress+Hauser Test Center also has an accredited EMC (RFI) laboratory. Apart from carrying out tests on Endress+Hauser devices in parallel with development, the Test Center also trains service Endress+Hauser staff and even customers.
