2018 ATBSON (Inc.) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS For complete rules and regulations refer ATBSON (Inc.) Tournament Rules and Regulations RULES - All ATBSON (Inc.) and TBA Tournament Rules and Regulations will apply. ELIGIBILITY - This tournament is open to all current ATBSO Members in good standing and who have attained the age of 45 years on or prior to the first day of the event. All bowlers must also be a 2018 TBA Registered Player. Non-members must pay the ATBSON (Inc.) membership fee of $10.00 to be eligible to compete and be prepared to bowl all events before being eligible for any other events, including Masters. NO REFUND AFTER ENTRIES CLOSE Teams, Doubles or Individuals who do not bowl in their allocated squads will not be entitled to claim a refund. Teams, Doubles or Individuals who are unable to bowl in their event can sell their spot to another competitor. Whilst the Tournament Committee will help where possible to reschedule entries, it is not the responsibility of the Tournament Committee to sell or recover money for unused entries. DRESS CODE - For men, black or navy dress shorts or black or navy trousers and a collared shirt must be worn. Ladies may wear black or navy skirts, black or navy tailored slacks, black or navy ¾ pants or black or navy shorts and a collared shirt. No tracksuits or jeans allowed. ENTERING AVERAGES - will be based on the bowler s average obtained in ATBSO Tournaments, taken on 1st June 2018 over a period of 12 months and a minimum of 18 games. The ATBSON national averages database will be used to establish the bowler s entering average. GRADINGS - Based on averages submitted, entries will be graded in accordance with the table below. BOWLERS WITHOUT AN AVERAGE - Any bowler without an ATBSO average as described will use their highest League average attained. The average must be verified by the bowler s league secretary, taken on 1st June 2018 over a period of 12 months and a minimum of 18 games. If no such verification is received, then an entering average of 199 for Men and 189 for Women will apply. Note: Any bowler may enter in OPEN Grade. AVERAGE REVIEW - The Tournament Director reserves the right to review the average and re-grade any bowler at any time. Participation using an incorrect average may result in disqualification. REPLACEMENTS - Any change from the original entry or line-up must be reported to the Tournament Room prior to the scheduled starting time. GAMES TO BE PLAYED - In each Grade a three (3) game series will be played in Teams, Doubles and Singles. MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION TEAMS - The same four (4) bowlers may bowl together any number of times and in any different combination. DOUBLES - Bowlers may have unlimited entries with the same or different partner. SINGLES - Bowlers may have unlimited entries in their grade or any grade above their own classification.

ALL EVENTS - The All Events Champion will be decided on the results of a contestant s highest total pinfall bowled in their Singles, Doubles and Teams event for which paid entries are received. Scores in the Mixed Doubles and Mixed Teams count towards All Events. Eligibility is subject to the payment of the $5.00 ALL EVENTS FEE. This Fee must be paid BEFORE bowling in their first event. MASTERS An Open, Classic, Restricted and Grand Seniors Masters will be conducted in accordance with the conditions and rules set out on the relevant Masters Formats in the TR&R s. PRIZE FUND - The event prize fund, distributed in cash or cheques will be paid in the ratio of one (1) prize for every ten (10) entries, except in All Events where the ratio will be one (1) prize for every twenty (20) entries. NOTE - Any matters arising which are not covered by these Tournament Rules will be determined by the Tournament Committee. SMOKING and CONSUMPTION of ALCOHOL will be prohibited during a session of continuous games. Contravening this rule will incur penalties defined in accordance with the TBA Rule Book. INJURY/DAMAGES - Participants and visitors indemnify the Tournament Committee from any injury, accident and damage to equipment whilst competing during the event or visiting the centre. MOBILE PHONES - Competitors mobile phones must be turned off while competing in an event. 2018 ATBSON (Inc.) RESTRICTED MASTERS For complete rules and regulations refer ATBSON (Inc.) Tournament Rules and Regulations ELIGIBILITY - This is a handicap event based on 90% of 200 and is open to all current ATBSO Members whose averages are 179 and under for Men and 169 and under for Women. To be eligible to compete in the Masters Event, every bowler (including the Defending Champions) must have completed an All Events" entry in the 2018 ATBSO National Championships before participating in the Masters Event. AVERAGE will be based on the bowler s average obtained in ATBSO Tournaments, taken on 1st June 2018 over a period of 12 months & a minimum of 18 games. The ATBSON national averages database will be used to establish the bowler s entering average. FORMAT - Handicap event with divisions for Men and Women. QUALIFYING - Qualifying will be the highest three (3) game singles, doubles or teams plus handicap attempt bowled during the ATBSON National Championships. Qualifying will cease on completion of the 11.30am squad on Thursday 30 th August 2018. Any Singles, Doubles or Teams attempt used for Restricted Masters qualifying will incur an additional qualifying fee of $10.00 to be paid prior to the squad in which the bowler is participating. (Notes re Defending Champion refer ATBSON (Inc.) Tournament Rules and Regulations) The Defending Champion s plus the State Representatives and the highest qualifiers to make a field of 24 will go into the Final according to their qualifying scores. The Defending Champion will receive a paid spot into the event. (if eligible) If there is a tie in the qualifying, eliminations stage or the head to head finals, then a one game playoff will be played to break the tie. Scratch pinfall plus handicap will decide. Any subsequent tie will require a 10th frame playoff until the tie is broken. This rule may be subject to change by the National Committee. Qualifying will cease on completion of the 11.30am squad on Friday 31 st August 2018. Any Singles, Doubles or Teams attempt used for OPEN Masters qualifying will incur an additional qualifying fee of $10.00 which must be paid prior to the squad in which the bowler is participating. The Defending Champion s plus the State Representatives and the highest qualifiers to make a field of 24 will go into the Final according to their qualifying scores. The Defending Champion will receive a paid spot into the event. AVERAGE: Will be the bowler s ATBSON (Inc) National Championship entering average. FORMAT - Divisions for Men and Women. Tournament Rules and Regulations ELIGIBILITY This is a handicap event based on 90% of 210, open to all that current ATBSO Members, and will have attained the age of 60 years or above, by day one (1) of Seniors Week commencing 2018. To be eligible to compete in the Masters Event, every bowler (including the Defending Champions) must have completed an All Events" entry in the 2018 ATBSO National Championships before participating in the Masters Event. FORMAT Divisions for Men and Women. QUALIFYING Qualifying will be the highest three (3) game singles, doubles or teams attempt bowled during the ATBSON National Championships. Qualifying will cease on completion of the 11.30am squad on Wednesday 28 th August 2018. Any Singles, Doubles or Teams attempt used for GRAND SENIOR Masters qualifying will incur an additional qualifying fee of $10.00 which must be paid prior to the squad in which the bowler is participating. The Defending Champion s plus the State Representatives and the highest qualifiers to make a field of 16 will go into the Final according to their qualifying scores. The Defending Champion will receive a paid spot into the event. (if eligible) If there is a tie in the qualifying, eliminations stage or the head to head finals, then a one game playoff will be played to break the tie. Scratch pinfall plus handicap, will decide. Any subsequent tie will require a 10th frame playoff until the tie is broken. This rule may be subject to change by the National Committee.
