Die Percherons sal vertoon word onder die afdak langs die veilingskompleks. Kom ondersteun die Percheron Genootskap se stalletjie. 3. Finances. Dit is in u eie belang dat perde reeds gechip en oor n DNA profiel moet beskik, om die registrasie en aanteken proses te bespoedig. Nadat die keuringsvorms die kantoor bereik het word dit na Stamboek gestuur vir aantekening. Geboortekennisgewing Indien die nodige dokumentasie vir geboortekennisgewings nie ingedien is nie sal die dier as PENDING op Stamboek se stelsel verskyn. Mortru Percheron Stoet Na die vorige nuusbrief het ons ongelukkig weer teëspoed gehad. Netta het op 13 Januarie haar vul tydens geboorte verloor. Omdat daar vanjaar geen vullens was nie het ons toe maar besluit om die geleentheid te gebruik om ons merries te leer werk. Ons het iemand gekry wat vir 2 weke by ons kom bly het en hulle baie mooi geleer het. Aangeheg foto s van Netta en Nella wat n stinkhout wa trek wat my skoonpa ±40 jaar gelede op n veiling gekoop het. Dit was die eerste keer dat hy hier op die plaas geloop het. Ons het nou begin om die vullisverwydering op die plaas met die perde en molwaentjie te doen en sal hulle geleidelik al hoe meer gebruik vir takies op die plaas. Bosmar Percheron Stoet Bonkige Bosmar stoet is baie opgewonde oor Bosmar Litchi wat dragtig is met Vallon Comet en die vulletjie gaan sy opwagting maak in Desember. Ons het ook weer n suksesvolle perdrykamp in Desember 2010 aangebied. Een van die seuns wat nog nooit die woord perd gehoor voor hy aansoek gedoen het vir die kamp nie, het na 3 dae selfs tot in die plaasdam gaan ry met sy perd. Dit is net weer n bewys van die geskiktheid van die Percheron kruisperde met hul pragtige temperament vir beide ervare en onervare ruiters. Ons het ook met die Percheron kruisperde op Pretoria skou gaan deelneem, en is baie trots op n derde plek in die Working Hunter klas met Bosmar Flamba en ruiter Christi Boshoff. Mafura Stoet Mafura Zanobia het gevul. Zanpa, Sympa se eerste KI Hingsvul is op 18 Februarie gebore. Daar is ook reeds merries dragtig van die ingevoerde hings, Unico de la From. 8 Grootdraai Percheron Stoet Hartseer nuus is dat Almarada Cordile dood is aan Bosluiskoors. Gelukkig kon haar vul hans grootgemaak word en lyk sy na n belowende jong merrie. Indien lede perde te koop het, laat weet asb die kantoor. Navrae word van voornemende kopers ontvang. Tradisioneel was die in-hand, ry en tuig klas aangebied. Die Gewigtrek klas,wat deur ALZU geborg is, Cromwell & Carley Rayno & Victoire was n groot sukses Die klas is gewen deur Elsenburg Marinus,wat 520kg gesleep het. Mnre Jack Maritz van Jan & Marinus Rayno & Lora Upington en Michel Paris van Frankryk was die beoordelaars. Dankie aan elke deelnemer wat deelgeneem het om dit die suksesvolste Trekperdskou toe nog te kon maak!! 6. Dr Hughes Dr Beate von Teichman Percheron Inligtingsdag.2011 The First Percheron Information day was held on the 19th of February 2011. Percheron breeders and enthusiasts from all Provinces attended the meeting at the Summerwind Stud outside Pretoria. The day started with Dr Stephen Hughes giving more info regarding Artificial Insemination and the dynamic procedure involved with AI. Mr Herman Labuschagne from SA Studbook explained the roll that Studbook plays as a Registration Authority. Inqaba Biotech's Henriette van der Zwan explained to the meeting what DNA Profiling is about and the reason for it s wide spread use in the livestock industry. Everyone received a Manual explaining the selecting and showing of Percherons. Dr Beate von Teichman gave valuable information regarding African Horse Sickness, the symptoms and the importance of inoculating against AHS. Mr Francois du Toit, from ALZU Feeds, lectured on the importance of the correct feeding of Draft Horses. Feeding the Heavy Breeds is not about giving more concentrate but all about, balance between concentrate and sufficient roughage as well as access to clean water at all times. Insuring your horse is a subject not all breeders think about. Equipage s, Zelda de Witt explained to the meeting why insurance is important, especially when you travel to and from a show. As the mornings proceedings went along, the more practical subjects followed. As the saying goes, No Hoof, No Horse and Master Farrier, Brian Donnolly couldn t agree more. He demonstrated how corrective shoeing and trimming on the Heavy Draught should be done. The filly, Vaninna de St Avit, owned by Sterkfontein Percheron Stud willingly presented a hoof or two for the demonstration. The Society achieved it s goal of creating a platform for Percheron lovers and breeders to be informed, to be educated and to socialise around the Percheron Breed. 9. 7. Die Percheron Hings van die Summerwind Stoet het die eer gehad om met die louere weg te stap. Hy is bekroon as die Opperste Kampioen Teelperd van die Jaar 2011 uit 17 rasse se Top Hingste en Merries. Dit is die eerste keer in die geskiedenis van die skou dat n Percheron hierdie gesogte titel verower. Die Genootskap wens Mnr Johan Henning baie geluk met die uitnemende en besonderse prestasie. To celebrate Sympa de Bellevue s victory, the French Percheron Society draped the Stallion, Trinquer de la Touche in the South African flag at the SIMA International show in Paris. 8. Die Genootskap verwelkom Andre en Stefni Boshoff van die Poundisford stoet, Bloemfontein in ons geledere. Hulle het n merrie wat afkomstig is uit die Gentle Giant Stoet. 6 Mr Jack Maritz, well-known Arab Breeder and International Arab and Draught Judge dealt with conformation on the draught horse. Questions from the participants were answered together with a practical demonstration on the horse. The conformation of the stallion and the mare was discussed with specific reference to what exactly a judge looks for in the show ring. The French Percheron judge, Mr Michel Paris. with his son showed the correct turnout for showing the Percheron. Michele Paris showed how to prepare the wool and what type and thickness of wool to use. This French Tradition of turning out the Percheron horse for a show is more than 100 years old. Different colours may represent different studs. At the end of a jam -packed course all sat down to a lunch and wine sponsored by the Summerwind Stud. The course ended with the usual formalities. Ds Paul Lubbinge The French Percheron Society s President, Mr Francois Chouanard presented a plaque of acknowledgement for the promotion of the Percheron breed in SA to the President of the South African Percheron Horse Breeders Society.
