WARM-UP INFORMATION For the first matches of each day, the warm-up will take place on the match courts. Each team will have three courts for warm-up. Courts will be available 90 minutes prior to the scheduled match times. For the championship match on Sunday, the facility will open at 12:00pm and warm-up will take place on the match courts. LODGING Seven double rooms have been reserved for each team at the hotel listed below. Each institution is responsible for contacting the hotel to which it has been assigned no later than Friday, May 3 rd, to confirm the reservations and provide the hotel with a rooming list. If a team prefers to stay at another hotel, it must obtain written release from the 7 guaranteed rooms from the hotel manager, or utilize the rooms for persons accompanying the official traveling party. Institutions must notify the tournament manager prior to making relocation arrangements. If an institution fails to make satisfactory arrangements with the hotel for use of the reserved rooms, full charges for these rooms will be billed to the institution. Each participating institution is responsible for making its own arrangement for meeting rooms, meals and other functions. Each participating institution should contact the hotel to provide estimated time of arrival, make check-in arrangements and confirm services to be provided to the team. TICKET INFORMATION Single Day admission $7.00 Weekend pass: $10.00 Student Day admission: $3.00 or $5.00 Weekend No reduced ticket prices or complimentary tickets will be provided. Teams will be billed for tickets. HOSPITALITY A hospitality area will be available for student-athletes, coaches, administrators and members of the official travel party. It will include fruit, bagels, granola bars, cold drinks, etc. and will be located at the Palmer-Salloum Tennis Center. CITY OF OXFORD/MEALS Participating institutions are responsible for their own meal arrangements and expenses. Ole Miss will be hosting graduation the weekend of the Regional. Please refer to the City of Oxford link and the Tourism link for local restaurants available while in our city. We have plenty of options but it will be a very busy weekend so you may need to organize your team meal options in advance. INCLEMENT WEATHER In the event of inclement weather, the championship committee (NCAA Representative, Head Referee) has the authority to determine when to stop play outside. The ITA guidelines will be used with the following exception: the ITA definition of inclement weather may not be used as the sole reason for stopping play outside. If a suspension occurs, the ITA rules shall be followed for the continuation of the match. If matches have to be moved inside they will take place at the Gillom Sports Center and there will be limited to no practice time available. STRINGING SERVICES Charlie Cook will be available throughout the tournament to string rackets for $20. He can be contacted at 662-380-3432 or by email at cgcook@olemiss.edu. CREDENTIALS The host institution is responsible for distributing credentials to bona fide working personnel, including media representatives and officials. Credentials are to be provided to all competitors, as well as their coaches, trainers, managers and other officials and necessary personnel. For the team portion of the 2013 championships, credentials will be provided for the 13 members (eight student-athletes and five non-athletes) of the official travel party. The five non-athletes shall consist of three coaches and two miscellaneous staff such as the sports information director, manager, administrator, etc. Each coach must verify those who will receive credentials (a maximum of 13 per team) by completing the appropriate credential list for both the team and individual championships. SPORTS MEDICINE All visiting teams will be supplied with water, Gatorade, cups, towels, ice, ice bags, and biohazard/first aid supplies at courtside during competition matches. A satellite athletic training room will be set-up within the Tennis Center and will be available for use one hour prior to all practices and two hours prior to all competition matches. Therapeutic modalities, including, heat packs, ice, electrical stimulation and ultrasound will be available upon request. Arrangements for treatments are encouraged to be made prior to your team s arrival. Please note that if a certified athletic trainer is not traveling with your team, sufficient supplies and a written prescription (i.e. letter from certified athletic trainer) for the use of any modalities must accompany the athletes. Any other special requests should be made by the visiting team's athletic trainer to Ben Angle or Heather Landry Shirley. A Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will be present at all competition matches, as well as all team practices. Team physicians will be on call during the tournament. Only those student-athletes who have consented in writing to such testing are eligible initially for NCAA Tennis Championship; and thereafter, student-athletes who are tested will remain eligible only if they test negative. 2013 NCAA Men s Tennis 5
Those student-athletes selected for testing will be notified and escorted to the testing site. They must remain at the testing site until the testing procedure has been competed. The Drug Test coordinator will be Senior Associate Athletic Director, Shannon Singletary.
