4 Matters arising from Meeting 407 not covered elsewhere: 4.1 There was nothing not already on the agenda. Neil, Le Milliere, Secretary 5 Chairman s Report 5. 5.1 In the Chair s unavoidable absence Neil gave a short report which included the fact that the Supporter and Newsletter of the year awards would now be made at the September meeting. Kevin also sent his condolences to the Norwich Supporters for the loss of Maurice Sills. Kevin Wells, kwells@gwc-accountants.co.uk 6 Secretary s Report 6.1 Neil introduced Jon Goddard to say a few words about Maurice Sills funeral. Jon spoke about the day and commented that Maurice s funeral was only the fourth person s to be held at St Pauls and it was very well attended. 6.2 Neil reminded all that membership fees and forms were due and implored all clubs to get theirs in so the committee did not have to waste time chasing them up. Neil Le Milliere, neil_le_milliere@btinternet.com 7 Treasurer s Report 7.1 Balances Current a/c 1803.74 Deposit a/c 5130.96 7.2 2017-18 Membership and Subscriptions Due All memberships are now due and this year s membership form has been circulated. It would be helpful if all clubs could complete and return their forms ASAP with the fee. Don t forget that you need to send an electronic copy to the Secretary which will also be used by the Web Master please PRINT NAMES AND EMAIL ADDRESSES. 7.3 2017-18 Membership and Subscriptions Paid Gillingham, Newcastle, and Middlesbrough. 7.4 Bank details are available if Clubs want to do a BACS transfer, just email Nick at the address below. Nick Head, nickjh1480@hotmail.com 8 Webmaster s Report 8.1 Nothing to report (though lots of work being done by Liz on our behalf, the results of which can be seen on the website Sec). Given it s a new season it would be a good idea if all clubs submitted some up to date information about themselves for the website. 8.2 On Liz s behalf Neil reminded all clubs that they should check their entries on the website and let Liz know about any amendments that needed doing. Liz Cocks, elizabethcocks@sky.com 2

9 Travel Secretary s Report 9.1 We are grateful to East Midlands for supplying us with details of this year s ticket deals on their services. There can be found on our website. We are very grateful for this continuing recognition by this company and only wish other companies would do the same, for instance Virgin or First Group. 9.2 I circulated details of the Competition and Markets Authorities invitation for people to comment on the First Group s proposals to cap the prices of the unregulated fares between London and Exeter. Hopefully lots of people will comment. As also circulated with Stagecoach losing the SWT franchise this also means that there will no longer be Megatrain fares available on the route as this is also a Stagecoach company. 9.3 I am in the process of updating my Travel Officers/Secretaries list, please ensure your travel secretaries details are on your membership forms when they are returned. 9.4 There were a number of comments from the floor including one from Maggie Reeves, Manchester City, about how Virgin had made a good start to the season. Neil reminded all that advance tickets were the way to book to get cheap fares and were available twelve weeks in advance. Arthur Turner, Middlesbrough, reminded all clubs that the Split Ticketing website could be really useful and it split journeys up into roughly 30 mile segments. Neil Le Milliere, neil_le_milliere@btinternet.com 10 Sports Secretaries Reports 10.1 Pool 10.1.1 The draw for the Clydie Weekes Summer Cup is as follows: Preliminary round: Middlesbrough v Hearts and Barrow/Plymouth v Exeter Round 1 1 Middlesbrough or Hearts v Nottingham Forrest 2 Sunderland v Newcastle 3 Southampton v West Bromwich Albion 4 Hull v Barrow/Plymouth or Exeter Semi Finals Winners 1 v 2 and 3 v 4 Prelim and first round games to be played by the end of August Cheers Steve steve_cole99@btinternet.com Mob 07772047273 http://apfscilpool.leaguerepublic.com/l/fg/1_269910850.html;jsessionid=97fc9aeff40 F0D85E101B9DCAE737FFE.clubsites1 10.2 Football 10.2.1 Football League Report Not too much to report from the football league as it has been the close season. there are a couple of dates to note and a couple of very welcome additions to the board which I will go through below; 10.2.2Board additions I am very happy to say the our very own Rob Madigan has agreed to join the board for the coming season in the role of Secretary, subject to being voted in at the AGM. Rob is a very welcome addition to the board and will bring a lot of experience with him as we all know. 3

Mark Cooke from Bristol City has also put himself up for election as vice chairman. Mark has been involved in the league for a number of years and runs a very well organised outfit in Bristol City. Subject to his appointment being confirmed at the AGM Mark will be another strong addition to the board. Along with Jason from Rangers as Treasurer and myself as Chairman I think we now have a strong board in place to make sure that the following season runs very smoothly. 10.2.3 Registration for the season. To reflect the new membership for football teams who's only involvement in APFSCIL is through the football league, the registration for this year will go up 5 to 95. The 5 increase covers the APFSCIL membership for those clubs. I am aware that there are many clubs who have more than a football involvement and the 5 from those clubs will just go in to the league funds. I will draw up a list and agree with the board to pay them directly for the clubs with just a football involvement. 10.2.4 Key upcoming dates Friday 25th August. We will have the Race night / presentation night here in the Horseshoe on Friday 25th August (subject to confirmation from Rob!). It was a really great night last year and raised nearly 500 for the league. I would strongly encourage everyone here to either come along yourselves or let your members know and get them along. It is vital for league funding but aside from that it is a great night out. 5th September. The AGM for the league will take place on the 5th September again here in the Horseshoe. 17th September. The league begins on the 17th September with the Dave Baister Cup group games - as is the tradition Many thanks and looking forward to another great season 10.2.5 Maggie Reeves, Manchester City, asked Gary to ask the football teams if they had any old kits they did not need then they had a good home for them as they have a member who collects them and sends them over to Africa, Gary Warren APFSCIL Football League Chairman Information etc can be found on the MITOO website as follows: http://football.mitoo.co/noticeboard.cfm?countieslist=londonmiddx&leaguecode=ap FS2013 10.3 Darts 10.3.1 The darts AGM was held on 17 July and the minutes will shortly be available on our website, including the election of officers. Tina Robertson (Chair), Chris Turner (Secretary) were re-elected. Divisional reps are Rick Goby (Division 1 Chester), Steve O Brien (Division 2 Man Utd), and Peter Reynolds (Division 3 Blackpool). Andre Maxwell was re-elected as Trophies and Medals Organiser, and Rob Madigan elected as Singles/Pairs Knockout Competition Organiser as Chris Farthing (Ipswich) was standing down. 10.3.2 It was agreed that subs remain at 16 for the league and 12 for the cup for the coming season and could be paid this evening. 4

10.3.3 If any team wants to join the league and or/cup, please let me know as soon as possible. Joint teams were welcome if a club were unable to raise a squad on their own 10.3.4 The Cup final was still outstanding. 10.3.5 The Peacock was no longer available as a venue so this could mean more teams playing at the Horseshoe. Chris Turner Chris.Turner@communities.gsi.gov.uk APFSCIL Darts Secretary 11 Social Secretary 11.1 The new season is upon us and just like last season we have our own fantasy football free league. Last season s winner was Andrew Underwood - we still don t know what team he supports and still have the trophy here in Clerkenwell waiting to hand it to him. 11.2 Anyway, to enter this season please log into https://fantasyfootball.skysports.com and after setting up your team, join the APFSCIL league by using the Pin 8328338, Best of luck. 11.3 I was thinking of doing a book signing for Andrei Kanchelskis as an APFSCIL event at the Crypt here in Clerkenwell on 17 th October as it was hoped that it would attract more people than the Horseshoe room could cater for. The Crypt could cater for 60-80. Rob gave more details about the event and would like APFSCIL to consider underwriting the event. It was agreed that interest would be canvassed from our membership and these should be returned ASAP to Rob please. Rob Madigan horseshoeclerkenwell@hotmail.co.uk APFSCIL Social Secretary 12 Press and Publicity Secretary - Position Vacant 12.1 No items raised prior to the meeting. 13 Any Other Business 13.1 Date of Next Meeting Our next ordinary General meeting is scheduled to be on Monday 4 September at the Horseshoe. 13.2 Ian Todd, Sunderland, pointed out that the next meeting date clashed with an England WC qualifier against Slovakia and it was agreed to start the meeting early to enable those that wanted to watch the game. Meeting Closed: 20.20 5
