Bavaria: Munich Lindau TOUR DESCRIPTION A dream in white and blue. Edge of the Alps Tour: Munich-Lindau You can look forward to a beautiful landscape in southern Bavaria and to breathtaking views into the world of the Alps, enjoy unspoiled nature, meadows, deep forests, lush meadows and many small idyllic lakes. All that you will discover on wonderful cycle paths, good nature paths and minor roads. You rarely you have to cycle on main roads. From the Hofbrauhaus in Munich, you cycle to the Neuschwanstein Castle and on to the beautiful Lake Constance. Over and over again you are greeted by many beautifully decorated maypoles which get erected the first of May and according to old custom symbolize the beginning of the flowering period and therefore the arrival of spring.
1. day Munich Arrival Look forward to Munich, the capital of Bavaria is waiting for you. English Garden, the City Hall, the Viktualienmarkt and the Hofbräuhaus want to be discovered. Tour information and distribution of bicycles in the afternoon. 2. day Munich - Murnau 65 km What a nice beginning. You follow the Isar out of Munich. Through Forstenrieder Park and along the small river Würm you cycle to the north shore of Lake Starnberg. What a magnificent sight: clear water combined with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Directly on the waterfront you cycle with pleasure from Starnberg to Ambach or Bernried and on to Murnau. 3. day Murnau - Füssen / Schwangau 60 km Nature and culture in perfect harmony! In the morning you can enjoy your way through the largest moorland of Western Europe (Nature reserve 'Murnauer Moos'). Marvel at the splendor of the Bavarian rococo in the Wieskirche at noon and discover the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in the afternoon. Neuschwanstein, often referred to as a fairy-tale castle, is the most famous of the castles of Ludwig II and one of the most famous sights in Germany with more than one million visitors a year.
4. day Füssen / Schwangau - Nesselwang 25 km If you hadn't time enough yesterday, today it's still time enough to visit the royal castles, because Nesselwang is quickly reached. You cycle along Lake Forgensee to Hopfen am See. With a fascinating view of the Allgäu Alps, the Zugspitze and the Tannheim Mountains, you cycle through a landscape with seven large and many other small lakes, enjoying an impressive alpine landscape. 5. day Nesselwang -Oberstaufen 50 km Enjoy a magnificent alpine panorama again. Your wavy, varied cycling path takes you to the beautiful Lake Rottach. Now you can really relax, because you roll more or less downhill to Immenstadt. Place a worthwhile break on the Monastery Square or Marienplatz. Afterwards you cycle along the Great Alpsee to the nice little town Oberstaufen. Just a few km before you reach Oberstaufen an aerial passenger line takes you up to the 'Obere Hündle-Alp', where you can watch cheese production only a 5-minutes walk away from the mountain station (not included). 6. day Oberstaufen - Lindau/ Nonnenhorn 55 km The last cycling day will inspire you, because you will cycle through a typical Allgäu countryside. You will pass scattered farms and small villages on your way through lush green meadows to Lake Constance. Look forward to the pretty town of Lindau and the lakefront. Lindau is situated on an island in the Lake. Have a look at the Old Town Hall and at the proud patrician houses with their impressive murals. Overnight stay in Lindau or about 8 km away in Nonnenhorn. 7. day Lindau Departure All too soon the time passed by! Today we say goodbye to the Alps - or ride another lap along the lake? Who wants to return to Munich, we recommend the practical return transfer service including transportation of your private bikes.

The route is predominantly asphalted, individual longer sections also on easy-to-drive natural roads. Available bikes If you want a rental bike for the tour, we take it to your start hotel and pick it up at your destination. Unisex wheels are available with either a 7-speed hub and a back-pedal brake or a 21-speed chain shift and freewheel as well as electric bicycles.
