SENIOR NIGHT CEREMONY: Seniors Brianne Horne, Jamie Horne, Sarah Reynolds, Joan Sieja and Katy Wagner will be honored before their last regular season home game at 6:30 p.m. POSTSEASON SCENARIOS: Oakland (6-5-6, 5-1-2) currently sits in second place in the Horizon League and could clinch the second seed in the league tournament based on the following scenarios: Win vs. YSU Tie vs. YSU and NKU loss Loss vs. YSU and NKU loss EIGHT IN A ROW: After starting their first nine games winless, the Golden Grizzlies are unbeaten in their last eight games, going 6-0-2. In that time, they have outscored opponents 12-2, including five shutout wins against Duquesne, Green Bay, Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Cleveland State. Since Sept. 20, Oakland is the only team in the league to have not lost a game. A LOOK AT THE PENGUINS: Youngstown State (7-10, 2-6) is coming off back-to-back wins over Detroit (Oct. 21) and UIC (Oct. 24) snapping a five-game losing streak. They are led by midfielder Kyler Lum who leads the team in points with 10 (four goals, two assists). The Golden Grizzlies are 8-1 all-time against the Penguins. TOUGH DEFENSE: The Golden Grizzlies have the hottest defense in the conference since Horizon League play began allowing only four goals in eight games. They have also recorded four-consecutive shutouts. PALMER HEATING UP: After missing playing time in September with a left leg injury, Oakland s Alice Palmer has scored three goals in the last six games, two of which were game-winners against Wright State (Oct. 10) and Northern Kentucky (Oct. 21) and the other being the game-tying goal against in-state rival Detroit (Sept. 30). Palmer ranks third in the Horizon League in goals with five and is also Oakland s top goal-scorer. She was also named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 5 and notched an assist against Valparaiso, becoming the first Oakland goalkeeper to record an assist in the Division I era. EXTRA TIME: Oakland s 0-0 tie with UIC (Oct. 17) marked the sixth this season, a school record. The Golden Grizzlies rank second in the Horizon League in minutes played with 1,655.
