A Letter from the Board Dear Fellow NCC Members, The days are getting longer, and before we all know it, Spring will have Sprung!! Following our first Board Meeting of the year, I again want to encourage you to get involved in the Member Committees that drive Newnan Country Club. We are a member owned club and members are needed to be involved in its operation. The different Committees will be posted on the NCC Website and at the clubhouse. We need your help! All you have to do is notify Chris Knobloch and a Board Member will reach out to you shortly. Your participation is needed and appreciated. Our goals at Newnan Country Club remain the same: 1) Operate a financially healthy NCC 2) Continue to drive membership and 3) Continue to improve our members experience at the club everyday! There is no question, our current staff directed huge improvements in 2013 and this same group is excited to continue improvement in 2014. Please make sure you recognize their efforts to them personally. We enter 2014 with a great deal of positive momentum from 2013. You will soon see work beginning on our Pool Area as we fix the big pool, replace the baby pool and create a children s play area. The hard Tennis Courts will be resurfaced by April 1 and we have a new Tennis Professional (John Grogan returns) for lessons and programs. Also, the clubhouse HVAC will be replaced and updated and several smaller projects will begin. Our Events Calendar is filling up, and you will notice a New Menu in Food & Beverage, and we will continue to offer Happy Hour every Friday, and Fine Dining every other Friday night. Our focus to the future is through successful Youth Programs (Golf, Tennis and Pool) later this spring and summer. We are even considering a cooking class for kids. Finally, I ask the member/residents of Newnan Pines to help police our most valuable asset, our Golf Course. At NCC, we are kid friendly, and we only ask that when children are using the golf course property to play, they are respectful of our property. Play in the rough areas, like the fairways, greens and tee boxes are off limits. We realize mistakes happen, but those mistakes are expensive and paid for by our membership. With the severe cold we have experienced this winter, we are all holding our breath that our Bermuda grass greens & fairways have not received permanent damage. See you at the Club!! Regards, John Fanning President - Board of Directors Newnan Country Club

Superintendant s Update WOW. What a week. Newnan received 3-4 of snow and ice. It has turned out to be a huge mess, especially on the golf course. While it is beautiful, it is a hassle for us. Roads are improving, snow is melting and hopefully Spring is right around the corner. As of Friday there is still a good bit of snow on the course. We plan to pull covers off Saturday and try and open for play early afternoon ATV s doing donuts on #14 fairway #9 and #1 I need to address a very serious concern regarding the use of ATV s on the course. It is unacceptable to ride them on the golf course. As I rode around yesterday I witnessed tire tracks EVERYWHERE! 4 wheelers and a dirt bike were driven across greens. These tracks went thru bunkers, ran over rakes and did donuts in the fairways. This has to stop. If you feel the need to do this, Please do it in YOUR yard, not mine. # s 2, 11, 14, 15 greens all had vehicles on them. Hopefully damage is minimal. I want people to enjoy the course and have fun on the occasional snow event but some went too far. PLEASE RESPECT YOUR GOLF COURSE. Donuts 10 feet from #14 green Cart and sledding traffic ON #11 green 2014 We will be looking for additional members to monitor the course. Moreso than just on Monday s. Please stop in the office if you want to help keep Newnan Country Club looking Great. Thanks, Andy & Chris *** Effective Immediately! Other than NCC Equipment and Carts, There will be no motorized vehicles allowed on NCC Propert. Especially ATV s, Motor Bikes, and carts with Knobby Tires.
