Rothbury Wilkinson Premier Season Release 2015/16

Contents Page 2. Season Release Overview 3. Season Dates 4. U19 vs Club Schedule 5. Representative Cricket 6. Notable Rule Changes 7. Rothbury Wilkinson Ewen Chatfield Cup Draw * * The Premier Reserve One-Day draw will mirror that of the Premier draw with venues still to be confirmed.

Season Release Overview Another exciting season of cricket is upon us and with it a clean slate and a chance for the 12 premier sides to battle it out for supremacy. All sides will first focus on getting to the top of the one-day standings attempting to remove the Ewen Chatfield Trophy from Onslow s hands and with it gain themselves an invitation to Auckland and a chance to claim national honours at the National Club Champs Pearce Cup qualification is always hotly contested and this season should be no different with only 6 teams gaining the chance to play for Cricket Wellingtons historic Pearce Cup. The cup has again spent the winter in Eastern Suburbs hands and there will be no shortage of sides looking to grasp it out of the firm grip they have on it. The season starts one weekend early for one side as they will face off against the Wellington U19 side due to their national competition starting earlier in 2015. Again the U19 s will face off against all clubs which provides both great development and gripping competition. Last season the 19 s has a few upset victories and will be looking to do the same this season. The games can have huge implications for the Premier sides and can prove to be the difference in qualifying for the Pearce Cup or missing out. The T/20 competition faces a revamp for the 2015/16 season with details to be released shortly. An exciting change is in store so watch this space. The round robin aspect of the Ewen Chatfield Trophy will finish on the 9 th of January with the final being played on Sunday the 17 th. The Pearce Cup and Hazlett Trophy will wrap up on the 19 th of March with the final being played on the 25 th, 26 th and 27 th of March. The venue of the Pearce Cup will be the leader of the Pearce Cup at the end of the round robin Rivalry round was seen as a good innovative last season but was unfortunately affected by rain. This round has been reintroduced for the 2015/16 season with a little bit of tweaking to a couple of games. Taita will take on Naenae in what has been a long stretching rivalry. The season kicks off with some mouth-watering clashes; Taita will take on Petone-Eastbourne, Johnsonville will battle it out with Karori, Reigning Pearce Cup champions will take on Collegians while Ewen Chatfield Trophy holders Onslow will meet Naenae.
