Dressage Rules The test to be used is The Pony Club Grassroots Dressage Test 2018. The size of arena is 20m x 40m. There will be four separate arenas and four judges. Each member of each team will ride in a different arena. Individual competitors will be split between the 4 arenas, there will be prizes for the best individuals in each arena to include all team riders. Calling the test is not permitted. The test is available to download from www.pcuk.org. To find the overall individual Champion the best two individuals from each of the four arenas will take part in a ride- off. This will take place after all the teams have completed their tests, and will be held in one arena under two Judges using The Pony Club Grassroots Dressage Test 2018 For method of scoring please see Rule 33 of the Pony Club Dressage Rule Book. Show Jumping Rules The competition is to be run in accordance with Rule 34 & 35e in the Pony Club Show Jumping Rule Book 2018. The whole team will jump two rounds followed by a jump off against the clock if required. There is to be a minimum of 10 fences and the course must not exceed 450m at a speed of 325mpm. First Round Max height in the first round is 80 cm but two single fences may be 85cm In the first round there is to be one double combination consisting of two uprights or an oxer to upright on two non- jumping strides no more than 80cm high. Water trays are not to be used in the first round. 1
Second Round Max height is to be 85 cm but two single fences may be 90cm. In the second round there is to be one or two double combinations consisting of two uprights or an oxer to upright on two non-jumping strides no more than 85cm high. Water trays may be used placed under an upright but must be no more than 60cm wide, placed centrally so that no more than 30 cms extends in front of the jump. Water trays are not to be used XC Phase Build in accordance with British Eventing BE80 standards; up to 2,000m in length with 16-25 jumping efforts, max height 80cms, max spread 90cms top spread, 125cms base spread. Substitution of team members and/or horses is only permitted for medical or veterinary reasons. At least two of the combinations of horse and rider must be the same as those who rode at the qualifiers. If a team qualifies with only three members a fourth eligible member may be added to the team for the Championships. All these rules and others are in the Pony Club rule books for Show Jumping and Dressage & Eventing. An Official Steward will be appointed by The Pony Club to oversee the Championships. They will be responsible for ensuring that all rules are followed and will adjudicate in the event of any dispute. Entries close seven days before the competition. All competitions will be run in a drawn order. The orders will be available at least five days before the first day of competition on the College EC s website. All classes will be run in accordance with the rules of The Pony Club 2
Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organisers, The Pony Club or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the Organisers, The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, illness to horses, owners, riders, grooms, spectators, dogs, exhibitors, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. VACCINATIONS - for ALL Competitions at Area Level and Above: 1. Passports: A valid passport and vaccination record: must accompany the Horse to all Events must be available for inspection must be produced on request at any other time during the Event Failure to comply with these requirements is a breach of this Rule and the Horse will only be allowed to compete at the PC Steward s discretion. 2. No Horse may take part in a PC Event (which includes entering competition stables) unless it has a current vaccination against equine influenza which complies with the following conditions: Two injections for primary vaccination, not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart, are required before being eligible to compete A first booster injection must be given not less than 150 days not more than 215 days after the second injection of primary vaccination Subsequent booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than one year, commencing after the first booster injection 3. The Record of Vaccination(s) in the Horse s passport must be completed by the appropriate veterinary surgeon in which the record of injection(s) is completed, signed and stamped line by line. 4. Notwithstanding the above, at the discretion of the Event Veterinary Officer, in consultation with the PC Steward and/or the Area Representative in cases where: The latest booster vaccination is overdue by no more than 14 days, and/or There are other historical discrepancies in a Horse s vaccination record. That Horse may nonetheless take part in an Event on such conditions as the Veterinary Officer considers appropriate, but the circumstances must be noted on the certificate. The Horse must be re-vaccinated so as to comply with this Rule and the certificate duly completed before it becomes eligible to compete. 5. No relevant injection may have been given on the day of competition or on any of the 6 days before a competition 6. No Horse whose latest booster vaccination is more than 14 days overdue may take part in an Event under any circumstances. 3
