Main Street Crown Point, IN 46307 Park in north lot off of Burrell Drive Enter building at entrance N8 o 2:00-3:00 pm Crown Point, IN Northern Indiana - Wisconsin o 3:00-4:00 pm Kentucky Southern Indiana If you get teams from other states (IL, OH, WV), put them at 3:00. 5:00-5:45 pm Opening Ceremonies Major Field Players and coaches must be in full uniform for opening ceremonies o Teams should have a state flag with them Players and coaches will have a meal provided after opening ceremonies o Burgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks 5:45-8:45 pm Skills Competition Field 1 & Field 2 (times are approximate) Home Run King (11u& 12U prelims) 5:45pm Major Field o Participants Each team will provide (1) players Each participant must provide a pitching coach or dad to pitch to them during the contest as well as a catcher in full gear. Each participant will receive 5 outs. An out is defined as any swing that doesn t result in a home run (fair territory). The top 3 players from the first round will advance to the finals showdown. Home run counts will be reset for the finals. 8 outs in the finals.
Web Gems 11U & 12U (prelims) 5:45 pm A Field o Participants Each team will provide one team (6 players) Each team will have a fielder at all 6 infield positions (P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B and SS). Each team must provide a coach or parent as a batter for the competition. The batter will hit the ball to the appropriate fielder who will catch the grounder (if ball is line drive and doesn t hit the ground a 1 second penalty will occur per each instance) and throw the ball to 2 nd base to start the double play. The fielder covering 2 nd base will throw to 1 st base to complete the double play. The first baseman (or pitcher covering first on ball to first basemen) will then throw the ball back to the catcher. Once the catcher receives the throw and places the ball in the bucket the next ground ball will be hit. The ompetition will be timed from the start of the first groundball to the completion of the last double play (ball being placed in the bucket). Each fielder, excluding the catcher and pitcher, will field a grounder to start a double play during the competition. Each team will get (2) attempts taking the fastest of the two times. Top 3 teams advance to finals. Missile Strike 11U & 12U 5:45 pm B Field o Participants Each team will provide up to (4) players Each participant will have (2) attempts from each of the three designated areas. Each attempt will consist of two phases. Phase I - Catch - a fly ball will be sent to the player with each successful catch resulting in a point. Phase II - Throw - players will throw the ball to home plate, trying to hit a designated target. The throw must hit the target on the fly or one-hop. A successful throw will be awarded a point. A perfect score is 12 points. Tie-breakers will be broken with additional catches/throws from center field. Speed Demon 11U & 12U (prelims) 5:45 pm C Field o Participants Each team will provide one team of (3) players Each team will have (2) attempts running the bases simulating an inside the park home run. Each participant will start in the Right handed hitters side of the batter s box. Time will start once the first player leaves the batter s box and stop when the last player touches home plate. Players will begin once the player in front of them touches home plate. Starting early or missing a base will result in a 5 second penalty.. Top 3 teams advance to the finals.
