ONWARD TO VICTORY, LOYOLA U!
Loyola s eight-game improvement was the program s best since the Ramblers added 10 wins from their 2000-01 total (7) in 2001-02 (17). Senior forward Ben Averkamp was named Capital One Second Team Academic All-America in 2012-13. Freshman Devon Turk set a Loyola record for three-point field goals by a freshman with 65. His total also ranks sixth on Loyola s single-season chart. Fellow rookie Jeff White dished out 76 assists, a total that ranks third in Loyola history for a freshman. Sophomore forward Christian Thomas was one of the most improved players in the Midwest this season, recording seven double doubles in 2012-13 and averaging 14.9 ppg and 7.0 rpg in conference play this season. In addition to its wins over BCS conference foes Mississippi State and DePaul, Loyola also handed Horizon League regular season and tournament champion Valparaiso one of its two home losses in conference play.
