***Quad Relay requires 3 riders. You must provide riders names at time of registration (at fairgrounds). ATV Rodeo Prizes and Trophies The Four Wheeler Rodeo is a competition to show how well the participant can control the Four Wheeler ATV. More than one participant may use an ATV. It is a competition between participants not ATVs. There will be 3 Age Groups: 1 class for Juniors 1 class for Intermediate 3 classes for Adult Utility 4 wheel drive ATV Sport 2 wheel drive ATV Side By Side Trophies Trophies will be given to the top three in each age group from a combined score from all events entered, to be determined by judges. Prize Money Prize money will be given to 1 st Place $100 2 nd Place $50 3 rd Place $25 in each age group. Utility Bikes and Side By Sides will not be eligible for trophy s or prize money this year. We reserve the right to combine classes or change age placement classification as we feel is best for fair competition. Amount of contestants may be limited by the Fair Board.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate in any way in the sport and activities of Holt County Agricultural Society, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that: 1. The risk of injury from the activity and equipment involved in ATV activities is significant including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular protective equipment and personal discipline will minimize this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown even if arising from the negligence of those persons released from liability below, and assume all responsibility for my participation, I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in this event and certify that I am physically fit to do so, have sufficiently trained for participation in this event, and that I have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person; and, 2. I understand that the activities of motorized off road activities are physically and mentally intense. I understand the rules of play and will comply with all the rules and regulations. If I observe any unusual or unnecessary hazards during my participation, I will bring such to the attention of the nearest official as soon as practical and leave the area; 3. I, for myself and on the behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, forever release and hold harmless Holt County Ag Society their officers, directors, agents, and the sponsors ( Releases ) of the off road event, and the owners of the premises used to conduct the motorized off road activities, with respect to any and all injury, disability, death or loss of damages to person or property, whether caused by the negligence of the releases or otherwise. 4. I understand and agree that the release of liability agreement covers each and every motorized off road activity and /or event in which I participate or attend hereafter. 5. I understand that the promoters of the Holt County Ag Society do not provide health insurance. The undersigned further agrees to assume all responsibility for doctor, ambulance, hospital and medical expenses and any loss or injury to me/the minor and or personal property due to participation in any Holt County Ag Society event. If under 18-Parent/Guardian Waiver for Minors The undersigned parent and natural guardian or legal guardian does hereby represent that he/she is, in fact, acting in such capacity and agrees to save and hold harmless and indemnify each and all of the parties referred to above from all of the parties referred to above from all liability, loss, cost, claim or damage whatsoever may be imposed upon said parties because of any defect in or lack of such capacity to so act and release said parties on behalf of both the minor and the parents or legal guardian. Authorization of Emergency Medical Treatment This release will authorize medical persons or transport services to provide emergency medical assistance and/or transportation to me in the event of an accident or illness requiring
transportation or treatment while I am participating in this activity. I understand that any such services will be provided to me on a fee basis which I will be responsible to pay. I hereby consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during this event. Photo/Audio/Video Release As the participant or parent/guardian or the above listed minor, I understand that the participant may be photographed, audio and/or video recorded. I give consent to the below minor being photographed, audio and/or video recorded during their participation. I agree to allow my photo, video or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers and/or assigns. This AWRL shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. The undersigned has read and voluntarily signed the release and waiver of liability and indemnity agreement, and further agrees that no oral representations, statements or inducements apart from the forgoing written agreement have been made. Description of ATV Rodeo Events Possible Events at the ATV Rodeo may be picked from the following. The Fair Board and Judges reserve the right to add, change or remove any events. Obstacle Course The obstacle course will be demonstrated prior to competition the night of the event. You will have to go through, over and around various obstacles. The objective is to complete the course in the fastest time. Participants veering off course will receive a 5 second penalty. If abuse of obstacle course is demonstrated, the participant will be disqualified. Flag Race The contestant must start at a given point in a stopped position. The flag man will signal contestant to begin and the contestant will move towards the far flag and retrieve it on the right side of the 4-wheeler. The contestant will proceed to the opposite side of the arena, park the 4-wheeler, contestant will get off the 4- wheeler, and place the flag in the designated spot. Time will end when the flag is placed in the bucket of sand. A ten second time penalty will occur if the flag is retrieved from the left side of the 4-wheeler and a ten second time penalty will occur if the bucket of sand is tipped over while retrieving the flag. Barrel Race The contestant must start at a given point. The flag man will signal contestant to begin and the contestant will move through the barrels in a uniform pattern. If the contestant breaks the pattern, they will be disqualified. A ten second penalty will occur for every barrel that is tipped over. Time will end when the contestant has completed the pattern and returned to the designated spot. Pole Race The contestant must start at a given point. The flag man will signal contestant to begin. The contestant will move through the poles in a uniform pattern. If the contestant breaks the pattern, they will be disqualified. A ten second penalty will occur for every pole that is tipped over. Time will end when the contestant has completed the pattern and returned to the designated spot. Grocery Race This competition consists of one quad and a team of two riders. You must race over an obstacle course from one end of the arena to the far end. You must fully stop and both riders must get off the quad. You must pick up an egg, watermelon and a large water balloon (or other items) and race back over the obstacle course back to the finish line. A 5 second penalty will be added to your finishing time for each item that you break. Hide (Tire) Race ATV must have a ball hitch or bumper handle. Biker will race to far end of arena and pulling partner on cowhide/tire and make a wide turn around a barrel placed at the end of the arena. Rider must stay on hide/tire and make it to the finish line. If your tire/hide rider falls off the tire/hide you are disqualified. Tire/Hide rider must wear eye protection, a helmet and clothing covering all limbs. ATV Bowling Set up with 6 bowling pins, each rider will ride their quad towards the bowling lane. They will have to use a bowling ball to try and knock down all 6 pins. Each pin is worth 5 points. If you get a strike you will receive an extra 10 points. If you get a spare you will receive an extra 5 points. In the case of a tie breaker each biker will get one throw and the most points will win. Accuracy is the name of the game here. Hotshot Competition Each rider is given a large water gun and must navigate through a cone course shooting a ping pong ball off the top of each cone. Side By Sides can compete in this competition but you must have two riders to compete. One that is the driver and the other is the shooter. For every ping pong ball you shoot off its pedestal you will have 5 seconds deducted from your time. Most hits in shortest time will be winner. Quad Relay Race This is a team race. You will need three people all with their own quad to compete in this race. One biker will race to the end of the arena and tag his teammate. The next racer will then race to the other end of the arena and tag the final teammate who will then race to the finish line. Speed is the game here.
Holt County Fair ATV Rodeo Rules ENTRIES: You may enter as many machines in as many classes as you want (as time limits and total number of rider limits determined by the fair board allow). RESTRICTIONS: 1. D.O.T. approved helmet and eye protection required. 2. Over the ankle leather boots suggested, shirt (no tank tops), and full length pants are required. 3. Speed limit is 5 mph when not participating in an individual event. 4. No alcohol or drugs of any kind are allowed in the pit area. 5. Helmets must be worn at all times when riding ATV. 6. No one under the age of 8 will be allowed to compete. 7. Any person who appears to be chemically impaired will not be allowed to compete. 8. Non-conformance to the principals of this event will result in immediate disqualification; subsequent expulsion and all fees will be forfeited. 9. Riding is allowed ONLY between pits and event. 10. Speed in any return lane or during non-event operation of your machine must be kept low. NO stunt riding (i.e. wheelies) will be allowed. Riders can and WILL be disqualified for inappropriate riding. 11. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO PIT RIDING. IF CAUGHT YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED WITHOUT WARNING AND ASKED TO LEAVE THE EVENT. JUDGING: 1. A panel of judges will review all scenarios not covered by the listed rules. 2. All decisions made by the panel of judges are final. RIDERS CONDUCT: 1. All riders shall conduct themselves in a respectful manner. 2. All riders will be in control of their machine(s) during operation. If a participant is deemed reckless or lacking control, they will be disqualified. COURSE RULES: 1. We reserve the right to rework the course at any time during the event. 2. Stock and modified machines allowed.
3. Any tire size will be allowed, chains or spikes will not. 4. Helmet & goggles must be strapped on before pulling up to the line. 5. Operator must stay on machine during the run, dismounting from the machine terminates the run. Unless otherwise instructed in event description. 6. Any machine with a 2wd/4wd switch must stay in one position during the entire run. This applies to certain events such as sled pull and events that are separated into 2WD and 4WD classes. 7. Once forward progress stops, rider has 5 seconds to resume moving or run is over. 8. No burnouts will be allowed in the staging areas or between the staging area and the starting line. 9. Speeds in the return lane will be kept low. NO stunt riding (i.e. wheelies) will be allowed in the return lane. Riders can and WILL be disqualified for inappropriate riding in the return lane. 10. After completing a race, riders will immediately head to the pit area. 11. All riders wishing to compete MUST attend the Rider's meeting before the races can begin. 12. Once a rider enters the staging lanes, there will be no exiting. 13. Class jumping will be allowed as long as you are undersized for the class. 14. Flagman controls the run. 15. Flagman at the start of the event will raise his hand to start your turn, and time. 16. Flagman at the Finish will drop his hand to end your turn, and time. 17. Timer starts and stops with the flags. 18. Rider must obey the timing official. 19. In case of a breakdown, each rider is responsible for hooking the towrope to his/her own machine; any and all damages incurred when being pulled are the sole responsibility of the rider. 20. Knocking over a barrel or cone, or any course infraction, will result in a time penalty for each violation, as determined by the judges. 21. Exceeding the course limits, including the braking or stop line, will result in a 1 minute penalty for each violation. 22. When registering for events, the individual must select their class and age group. The judges reserve the right and may place participants in a class they feel is best for fair competition. 23. We reserve the right to combine competition classes, in the event of a lack of entries per class to keep winning fair. The number of participants in each class is at the discretion of the judges. 24. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Any display of unacceptable behaviour, decided by the judges, will result in disqualification. If the conduct continues, the participant or spectator may be escorted off the premises. 25. Participants and all ATV riders are required to wear a proper fitting, DOT certified helmet any time the ATV is in motion. Penalties will be enforced, and to be decided by the judges. Participants are required to wear eye protection. 26. A time penalty will be applied for each occurrence where it applies to the event: Tipping a barrel or pole, breaking the chalk line barrier, and other rules as defined by the judges.
27. All participants agree to compete in a fair manner and follow all rules.
