Description of ATV Rodeo Events Possible Events at the ATV Rodeo may be picked from the following. The Fair Board and Judges reserve the right to add, change or remove any events. Obstacle Course The obstacle course will be demonstrated prior to competition the night of the event. You will have to go through, over and around various obstacles. The objective is to complete the course in the fastest time. Participants veering off course will receive a 5 second penalty. If abuse of obstacle course is demonstrated, the participant will be disqualified. Flag Race The contestant must start at a given point in a stopped position. The flag man will signal contestant to begin and the contestant will move towards the far flag and retrieve it on the right side of the 4-wheeler. The contestant will proceed to the opposite side of the arena, park the 4-wheeler, contestant will get off the 4- wheeler, and place the flag in the designated spot. Time will end when the flag is placed in the bucket of sand. A ten second time penalty will occur if the flag is retrieved from the left side of the 4-wheeler and a ten second time penalty will occur if the bucket of sand is tipped over while retrieving the flag. Barrel Race The contestant must start at a given point. The flag man will signal contestant to begin and the contestant will move through the barrels in a uniform pattern. If the contestant breaks the pattern, they will be disqualified. A ten second penalty will occur for every barrel that is tipped over. Time will end when the contestant has completed the pattern and returned to the designated spot. Pole Race The contestant must start at a given point. The flag man will signal contestant to begin. The contestant will move through the poles in a uniform pattern. If the contestant breaks the pattern, they will be disqualified. A ten second penalty will occur for every pole that is tipped over. Time will end when the contestant has completed the pattern and returned to the designated spot. Grocery Race This competition consists of one quad and a team of two riders. You must race over an obstacle course from one end of the arena to the far end. You must fully stop and both riders must get off the quad. You must pick up an egg, watermelon and a large water balloon (or other items) and race back over the obstacle course back to the finish line. A 5 second penalty will be added to your finishing time for each item that you break. Hide (Tire) Race ATV must have a ball hitch or bumper handle. Biker will race to far end of arena and pulling partner on cowhide/tire and make a wide turn around a barrel placed at the end of the arena. Rider must stay on hide/tire and make it to the finish line. If your tire/hide rider falls off the tire/hide you are disqualified. Tire/Hide rider must wear eye protection, a helmet and clothing covering all limbs. ATV Bowling Set up with 6 bowling pins, each rider will ride their quad towards the bowling lane. They will have to use a bowling ball to try and knock down all 6 pins. Each pin is worth 5 points. If you get a strike you will receive an extra 10 points. If you get a spare you will receive an extra 5 points. In the case of a tie breaker each biker will get one throw and the most points will win. Accuracy is the name of the game here. Hotshot Competition Each rider is given a large water gun and must navigate through a cone course shooting a ping pong ball off the top of each cone. Side By Sides can compete in this competition but you must have two riders to compete. One that is the driver and the other is the shooter. For every ping pong ball you shoot off its pedestal you will have 5 seconds deducted from your time. Most hits in shortest time will be winner. Quad Relay Race This is a team race. You will need three people all with their own quad to compete in this race. One biker will race to the end of the arena and tag his teammate. The next racer will then race to the other end of the arena and tag the final teammate who will then race to the finish line. Speed is the game here.
