Human Effects and Symptoms of Overexposure Acute Skin Contact may cause mild skin irritation upon direct contact. If hot material contacts the skin, immediately cool with water before attempting removal. Acute Eye Eye contact is not typical if good industrial practices are followed. This product may cause eye irritation upon direct contact. Avoid contact with eyes. Acute Inhalation Inhalation of vapors (generated at high temperatures only) or oil mist from this product may cause mild irritation of the upper respiratory tract. Excessive inhalation may cause local irritation, dizziness and nausea. Caution should be taken to prevent aerosolizing or misting this product. Acute Ingestion Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. General Effects of Exposure Acute Effects of Exposure Gases and fumes evolved of this material at high temperatures may irritate the eyes, skin or respiratory tract.
Chronic Effects of Exposure: Not expected to cause any adverse chronic effects. SECTION 3 COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Hazardous Components There are no hazardous ingredients in this product. The product contains some mineral oil. In the presence of a mist, observe a TWA/PEL of 5mg/M 3 for mineral oil. SECTION 4 FIRST AID MEASURES Thoroughly flush affected area with large quantities of water. Remove and wash all contaminated clothing. Eye Contact In case of contact flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open Skin Contact Flush with water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash exposed portions of the skin with soap and water. Do not use clothes and shoes until thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Discard all leather articles soaked with this product. If hot product strikes the skin, immediately cool before attempting removal, Cool with water or ics and apply skin burn dressing. Obtain immediate medical attention for skin burns. Inhalation Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of fumes from overheating. Ingestion Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention. If conscious, give two glasses of water. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration of the liquid into lungs. SECTION 5 FIREFIGHTING MEASURES This material does not pose an unusual firefighting problem. It will burn if involved in a fire. Suitable Extinguishing Media Foam, Dry chemicals, Carbon dioxide, sand/earth. Water should only be used to cool the fire exposed container as the product may float and reignite on the surface of the water and possibly cause the fire to spread. Special Firefighting Procedures Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus to protect against potentially toxic and irritating fumes. Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazard Toxic and irritating gases/fumes may be given off during burning or thermal decomposition. 2
SECTION 6 ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Spill and Leak Procedures Put on protective clothing before starting clean up. Contain spill and stop the leak at the source if safe to do so and notify appropriate authorities of the spill. Material may burn although not readily ignite. Soak up small spills with a noncombustible absorbent. Flush area with large amounts of water to in-house treatment system to remove trace residues. Do not directly flush to the sewer or surface waters, Dispose of the material in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
