Overview Bellarine Peninsula Basketball Association (BPBA) is a young association which was established in 1999, following the amalgamation of the Drysdale and Ocean Grove Basketball Clubs. BPBA provides the following:! Catering for all ages and abilities, BPBA offers various programs and competitions for those wanting to be involved in basketball. From development programs to social basketball to Representative teams.! BPBA has over 200 teams and 1700 members registered in junior and senior, male and female competitions during the year.! BPBA runs competitions across four venues: Bellarine Sports Centre (Drysdale) is our home stadium with at least 90% of basketball activities conducted at this venue. At times we are required to utilise Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre (Ocean Grove), St Ignatius College (Drysdale) and Christian College (Drysdale) stadiums..! BPBA has a large volunteer base including committee members, club/team staff and general volunteers.! More than 50 Referees are involved in officiating our competitions each week.! Signage at the Bellarine Sports Centre is visible not only to BPBA members and their families, but also the Bellarine Secondary College students, staff and their visitors on a daily basis.! BPBA s website (www.bpba.org.au) is currently averaging more than 50,000 page impressions per month during the basketball season, with continued growth.! BPBA runs Aussie Hoops Development programs to introduce children as young as 4 years to basketball fundamentals in a fun group environment.! BPBA holds regular school holiday clinics for both beginner and advanced players.! Coaching and Referee education is important in the development of the Association, and we continue to work with Basketball Victoria (BV) and Basketball Victoria Country (BVC) to ensure this is ongoing. Representative Basketball The Bellarine Peninsula Basketball Association is represented in BV, BVCC and VJBL competitions, by the Bellarine Storm ranging from Under 12 s up to Under 20 s, boys and girls. This year 13 teams will represent Bellarine Storm in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), BVCC Country Championships and at a number of junior tournaments throughout the year.

Sponsorship Basketball is one of the largest participated sporting activities in the Bellarine & Geelong districts. This sport is growing and our Association is looking for the support of sponsors to help with the development of our amenities and support programs, so that our junior basketballers are given every opportunity to participate, develop and thrive. Our Association currently receives minimal funding and relies on volunteers to provide our basketball community with just the basics. Sponsorship enables BPBA to keep up with growth demands and offer more professional programs to make the basketball experience a much better one for everyone.
