Bats stamped BESR (Ball Escape Speed Ratio) are NOT legal. V. Winter Meeting & Team Registration Information VI. A. Letter from George Haegele (See Attached) Beginning this season all teams are required to attend the winter meeting. Teams not attending will face a fine and they will have an automatic 2 game forfeit. Team Scheduling (See Attached) Scheduling will be done in 9 rounds according to the attached schedule pairings. I set up the pairings for scheduling from the 2011 District tournament seeding. I added Livingston into the 9 th spot since they had no south district conference record. After each scheduling round is complete coaches or team representatives will move to the next round until all schedules are complete. Sub-District Play for East Teams: East teams will play two double headers home & away and one 9 inning conference game. The location of 9 inning game will be determined by the coaches at the scheduling meeting this year and will then flip for next season. 2. Sub-District Play for West Teams: West teams will play two double headers home & away. 3. Cross Sub-District Play: Cross sub-district play will be a single 9 inning conference game played as both Home and Away games. A second game may be played as a Non-conference 7 inning game at the coaches descretion. 4. District Tournaments: All District tournaments will remain as an 8 team tournament format. Seeding for the tournament will be deternined from overall conference winning percentage. If teams are tied with the same winning percentage record the tie breaker will be head to head wins and losses, and then total runs if they split. The Host team for the District tournament will get an automatic spot in the tournament regardless of record.

The Inn is located at 1325 N. 7 th Avenue. We have some rooms set aside at a special rate. Call (800) 624-5865 and tell them you are attending the American Legion Baseball meeting. There is a Registration Fee of $30.00 per person attending and Universal Athletic Service will host a social at the Grantree on Friday evening March 30, 2012. Coffee, juice, and assorted donuts will be served and Registration will begin at 8:00 AM on March 31, 2012. The Regular Meeting will start at 9:00 AM. THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY; EVERY TEAM MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE REPRESENTATIVE IN ATTENDANCE. Every team has Managers, Coaches, Board Members and other interested members in your organization. One of these people will be able to attend. Severe penalty will be assessed any team not attending. Coach will be placed on probation, there will be a $250.00 fine and your team will forfeit their first two home conference games. We have neither the time nor the resources to get out Rule Books, Schedule Books and other paper work and information necessary to participate in American Legion Baseball on a one on one basis. Therefore, attendance is mandatory.

If you receive this letter and are no longer associated with the American Legion Baseball program, I would appreciate your contacting me or getting this letter to a person who is involved. As in 2011, all registration, payment of National Registration Fee of $50.00, and payment of your Annual Insurance Fee will be done on the internet. This must be done prior to the deadline of March 15, 2012. Failure to meet this deadline could cost your team its eligibility to play American Legion Baseball in 2012. All teams must purchase Senior American Legion Accident and Liability Insurance. Seasonal Insurance is $160.00 for Medical and $145.00 for Liability Insurance. Annual Insurance is $235.00 for Medical and $145.00 for Liability Insurance. We will collect the Montana/Alberta Team Registration Fees at this meeting. I regret to inform you that we must raise these fees this year. Costs keep going up and we have not had a change in the Registration Fee in over 20 years. New Fees are Class AA $250.00, Class A $200.00, and Class B $100.00. Each Class A Team also will pay an additional $100.00 with $50.00 going to the State Champion to help pay expenses to attend the Regional Tournament and $50.00 going to the State Tournament Host to help with Umpires expenses. Bids will be accepted to Host the 2013 Class A State Tournament (Southern District Teams only). In order to compile the Schedule Booklet of all our team s schedules, I must have your schedule in my office prior to February 15, 2012. We get a great deal of exposure from this booklet as I mail it to over 100 College Coach s and Pro Scouts. I receive many Thank You s from these individuals. You must completely fill out Form 1A.Forms will be provided at registration. This is the only way I have to compile a decent phone and address list. A luncheon will be provided for all in attendance. Awards for Coaches of the Year will be presented and we will endeavor to have an interesting speaker. I look forward to renewing old friendships and welcoming new members to our Baseball Family.
